Just stopped by a local JD dealer here in SC last Monday pm. He had a 4100, a 4200, (3) 4300's (one a HST and two were Collar shift), and I think he also had a 4400 as well as a great big 5210. They're out there....<br>Keith

Norm:<br>If your dump goes up correctly there a good change the problem is not the cylinder. If you have bent a cylinder you would most likely never get it all the way down.<br>I don't know the specifics of your system but a lot of dumping units only power the cylinders up and let gravity bring it back down so just the weight of the load and restrictions on oil flow out of the cylinders determine the way the dump will lower. <br>There may be something binding in the dump system or a flow restriction in the hoses to that cylinder. I too have a TC33D - and yes it has the differential lock, I have used it numerous times.<br>I opted for the TC33 over the TC29 because I too have a lot of hills.<br>My guess is that on flat terrain you will not see much difference, but the extra 15% in HP does make a difference on the hills. In fact there are times that I wished I had gone to a utility class tractor. But in the long run, the TC33D really fits my needs.<br>It could be that the reason the dealer is out of stock is because more buyers think that the extra HP is worth the extra $. I did and I still do.

There may be a table in your owner's manual that lists suggested pressure based<br>on tire types and payload. If not give your type of tire & size (R4,Turf,Etc)<br>& we may be able to find out.<br>

You should shut the engine off - then operate your hydro control in all positions to bleed pressure from the lines - then make the connection.<br>

I checked out Maveric Tractors two years ago from a dealer outside Seatle. I even made a trip up there from Portlan OR.<br>But I decided that I did not know enough about tractors to trust my first purchase to a gray market adventure. <br>The dealer claimed that parts were readily available but was not able to supply me with either a parts manual nor an overhaul manual.<br>I suggest that if you do decide on a brand of tractor that is not supported locally, that you insist on an overhaul manual. If they can not produce one, think twice befor proceeding.<br>That is my $.02 worth.<br>

No it is not hydro. You can't find a hydro anywhere in the US right now from what I've been told. This is the standard collar shift 9f/3r. I put about 3 hours on the machine today and had no trouble with any functions. I bought the R4 tires and think that perhaps I should have taken the R1's. The machine had power to spare, but traction can be a problem. I was moving several piles of stone and pushed one dead tree over so I can saw it up tomorrow. Poked two holes with the Danuser 12

I have a JD 755 w/ 70 loader. Has anyone ever put a 4 in 1 bucket on it? Maybe a more general question is why aren't they available - I certainly could use it for yard work, I would have thought that others would feel the same.

Having spent all my life on a farm & being an auction lover, I make the following suggestions. You go to a farm sale or machinery dealer & buy an old running gear( the metal thing with 4 wheels with front to that steer) That should be the cheap part. Then you buy 2 stringers( boards 3 or 4

I have read all the posts on this topic and noticed nobody has mentioned<br>dynomite.I realize you need a large acerage, expert application , and understanding neighbours, however it may be the fastest and most fun method<br>of stump removal.<br>My second method would probably be going to a rental yard and acquiring a good<br>size bulldozer and doing the work myself,if you can handle a compact loader tractor you can operate a dozer.Why take a chance with your pride and joy compact when it was not designed for this kind of work.It takes one slip up<br>to cause hours of repaires, which translates to big dollers.

I have a 1240 with the 1246 MF loader. I like my MF unit. Most people purchase either green, blue or orange<br>the red machines are usually left out. To answer your question if I had to do it over again I would buy the MF. I<br>was looking at a Kubota L3010 with loader, but the dealer was a jerk. The MF was set-up right the first time it runs great from<br>day one. I have never had a farm machine, and I own blue and several green units that had a dealer prep goof-up and/or mechanical failures. <br>The MF which is made in Japan is very stout and well made, but so is Kubota. I guess it comes down to which one your more comfortable <br>with. Furthermore $16K for a 1250 and loader is an excellent price.

We have a Great Bend loader on a JD 4040. I do not like it as much as the <br>JD loaders we have on our other tractors. The Great Bend seems awkward and <br>unresponsive. I also feel that the tractor would have better resale value <br>with a JD loader on it. I wouldn't pay as much, and certainly not more for a<br>Great Bend.<br>
