I just bought and installed a ROPS on my little JD 750 for $250 bucks. It came with all the G11.9 mounting bolts, and a big heavy plate that fits around the PTO shaft. Don't know if you really want to weld/drill/cut on any factory made ROPS, so you can modify it to fit your tractor. The factory ROPS are built to OSHA standards, which means they must be magnafluxed and other things. If you start modifying one, it may violate the design/integrity of the structure. I know you want to save the $500, but how much is your life worth to you? It's up to you, though....<br>Keith

just took delivery of new L4310 GST. what should the proper tire pressure be.<br>it is 4wd and front pressure was 30 and back 25 with no flid in tires. help please!

i forgot to let you know the price in north georgia. on the bare 4310 GST <br>with ag tires the best price i could find was 17,600.00.

There are several sites which focus on older tractors and equipment. I don't have the TC33, mine is a TC29 gear job. But, if you like the hydrostatic,<br>I think you'll be very happy with the '33. All of the TC's have a differential lock<br>as standard equipment. You'll find you won't use it much though. I've probably used<br>it 3 times in 200 hours, in soupy mud. I've been taking the tractor through some pretty rough terrain,<br>as we had the trees cut off the back 60 acres, and I've been working out there. Haven't<br>had to use the diff lock once.<br>For Doug - I'm really surprised that you had trouble with your TC29. After using one for<br>so long now, I don't think I'd go the extra money for that few additional horses. I haven't<br>yet found the job my TC29 can't do - and if you could see what I do with this tractor you'd<br>shudder!!

My farm is on a hillside, and I have varying slopes from moderate to steep. When I<br>bought my Boomer, I had the dealer put on liquid weighted ag tires, and I've been very happy<br>with them. I do a lot of loader work, and the weighted tires balance the loader well. The only<br>time I've wished for chains has been during this last winter, when we had about<br>four inches of ice on the ground. Under those conditions, though, NO tire would have<br>given traction! In straight snow, I have no problem. I've used a Kubota with a weight box<br>on the three point, and it was a pain. The weight at the rear made the front end a little too<br>light for my liking, and it definitely did not give me the kind of stability I<br>like to have when the tractor was sideways to the slope. I've never had a problem in mud,<br>and I've had that tractor in pretty deep!

For a $3,500 difference, I would stick with either the TC29 or TC33. I originally bought<br>a 1725, and NH replaced that tractor with a TC29, because I had so much trouble <br>with it. There were problems with the engines on the previous models, and I ran into<br>those problems before I even had 50 hours on the tractor. I've heard from other <br>people who have had similar problems. The TC models have a redesigned<br>engine, which I can testify is much more reliable!! I have over 200 hard hours<br>on my TC29 now, mostly loader work, and now it's turning the hay tedder, and I'm<br>going to try it with the baler next weekend. Never a service call in all those hours,<br>compared to service calls once a week with the 1725.

Releive the pressure in your lines BEFORE you disconnect and remove your loader. It is impossible to have pressure on the loader side in this fashion.

When you read this post along with the one above about disconnecting the john deere loader hoses under pressure, it makes one wonder if we don't need a waiting period along with perhaps a background check before anyone is allowed to buy a tractor

It helps if there is a tree attached to the stump :)<br>Push on the tree as far up as your loader will go. move around to the other side and try again it you couldn't get it on the first try. Repeat as required. It amazing how big a tree you can take down like this... especially it you do a little digging around it first.
