<br>Owners manual says to put in neutral before changing ranges.I have also had to cut sheild around lever.I also marked side of fender for range lever as factory label is way off . This helped .

I dont know the specific gravity of either Calcium Chloride or antifreeze. The Deere manual call for adding calcium chloride at 3.5 lbs per gallon of water so the weight will be about 12 lbs per gallon. Glycol is probably not as heavy and is much more expensive than calcium chloride. Additionally though both are a pain the , calcium is probably more environmentally safe. Hopefully someone with more specifics can help answer the question as to why antifreeze is used in the south and not in the north.

I bought a 2wd 1720, loader, and a 5' bush hog for $14,350. The loader was a Bush Hog brand for $2850 so your price of $2600 looks great to me. Looking back I wish I had purchased a tractor with 4wd. I have some soft areas on my land and the wrecker has been out here more than once. But I am learning where I can go and where I cannot.

Have you tried to upgrade lately. I just logged on to deere.com took about 10<br>seconds and the entire site was ready to go. dump the 8088 and the 14400 modem<br>Just kidding. sometimes websites will give you an interuption notice if a switch <br>at the phone company is going bad and your in that switch. Nortel switches are<br>real bad about that. contacting the phone company will do no good because you<br>have no idea where the switch is.

Nice little machine.. was just quoted a prices as follows (Cdn$)<br>B2710HSD 21470 list, LA401 loader 3200 list, B2079 Valve kit 990 list and B1616 at 530 list<br>for a total of 26190. This was discounted to $23,750Cdn. This is for the tractor and loader,<br>I'm not sure what the B1616 is. This was a stock machine in Courtney BC on Vancouver Island.<br>Anybody know of one of these fine machines in the used market??

The only advantage that calcium has compared to weights is that it is less<br>expensive. Calcium is a corrosive, and a flat tire is a real hassle. go with the<br>weights if at all possible. <br> I would agree with using the box blade instead of a weight box. It is just<br>as easy to dismount and if you get the type with a flip down cutting edge in<br>reverse it is a handy tool at the same time. The only advantage to the weight<br>box is that it makes the tractor shorter and this is especially valuable if you<br>are turning around in confined areas or next to a hill. this is because the <br>three point does notlift implements as high as one would always want it to.<br>Still, my preference would be for the box. That is what I use, and I have added<br>about an extra 200 pounds in the form of steel plate bolted to the top of the<br>box blade. The top of the box blade can be an excellent place to bolt a large <br>steel box for carrying tools. You will be surprised at how difficult it is to <br>carry a few extra tools on a tractor. Things with handles - like a shovel - and<br>a rake - can be real tricky to mount.<br> Opinions vary on hydro or not. I like gears on a tractor even though I<br>prefer an automatic on my truck....my wife likes hers just the opposite....<br> What else...Oh, JD vs Kubota. A few years ago I would have said JD without<br>hesitation - and probably without much argument. Now I might even lean the other<br>way a tiny bit. Go with the dealer that makes you most comfortable. If you find<br>one who goes out of his way to offer good service, I would feel comfortable <br>saying to go with whichever mainstream brand that he is selling. Looking at Kubota L-275 w/ 750 hours for $6,000. Is this a reasonable price? Also, does this tractor have live PTO?

I bought one last year for moving two very large piles of dirt. It's a 24 inch and on a small 2wd tractor. I was surprised how much dirt could be moved with this little rig. Just don't expect to be in any hurry. I recommend if at all possible to scoop downhill to get the momentum of the tractor working for you. Much like a loader a scoop can also be used to haul fertilizer, hay etc. It's not ideal, but it sure beats a shovel and wheel barrow or shelling out $3,000 for a loader that may get minimal useage.

Had a Ford 2000 gas for 8 years, traded in on NH 1925 for $5000. If it's in good<br>condition, has 8 speed, power steering, & 2 stage clutch, it's worth it. It's a solid tractor, I only traded mine because I wanted the loader and hydro trans on the 1925.
