If you can't justify spending the money on the TC33 then why buy the TC29 the 29 and 25 are identical tractors. The only thing that NH has done is to goose the RPM's on the 29 to get the horsepower rating. The 33 has a bigger displacement engine then either the 29 or 25. So I suggst going with the TC33D with a three point rear finish mower it is eiaser toi remove if you opt for a loader and will not be in your way if you plan on doing anything else with it.<br>

I can buy a Ford 2000 for $5900. It has about 1600 hours, and was used to pick up golf balls on a driving range. It has new tires all around and a new seat, put on by the local dealer. Is this a good price? Btw, it is a gas burner. I think it is a 70s model. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks - sounds like the way I will go. I like the mid-mount mower because of the number of obstacles in my lawn (and I already have it). Backhoe operation will come in spurts.

The 4100 Hydrostatic replaced the 755. The base weight on the 4100 is given as about 1565 pounds and the base weight on the 755 was 1835 pounds. PTO horsepower on the 4100 is 16 and on the 755 was 15. Wheelbase on the 4100 is 58 inches vs 57 inches on the 755.

Along the same line....I too am looking for a chippper. Local dealer suggested about 10 PTO hp for each inch of diameter. Seems high, but that is at least what the big self powered chippers use (Vermeer, Morbark). Dealer suggested I just rent a 6

Alan, I don't know the standard procedure for a Kubota warm-up but it should be a little less than half thottle about 1200 rpm for 5 min. is a good rule after start-up. Then maybe keep it below 1900 after you take off for 5 more min. Idle speed for your Kubota is the throttle lever all the way back--about 650-800 rpm maybe. But I bet the owners manuel recommends a least 1000 rpm after start for warming the motor--NOT IDLE. Because diesels generate little heat at idle so you are wasting your time to warm it up at idle speed. After working it hard its a good idea to let it idle for a couple min. to remove hot spots before shut down.

I have an Ingersol, but it is significantly more expensive than your proposal and if your lawn is smooth you probably don't need that one so heavy-duty. A friend has a Simplicity. They are realitively inexpensive, yet the deck is really built to stand up to some heavy work. The dealer I bought my Ingersol from also sells Kubota tractors and lawn mowers. His people really make fun of the lawn equipment. They don't stand up well and are often in need of repair (according to them). Look into the Simplicity.

I had a similar problem with a 4300 hydro which I 0reported on the message board several weeks ago. The tractor would only pull about 2450 rpm in range C. My dealer adjust the parking brake and rpms jumped immediatly to 2850 at full transport speed.

Yes, I bought one to dig a driveway several years ago. It worked well for me if I mounted it so that I backed into the dirt. It wasnt as good when pulled, however, but that may have been my inexperience. Even so it more than paid for itself and moved one hell of a lot of earth.

I have a kubota L175 17hp 2wheel drive with cab, 5ft finish mower,and<br>commercial 5ft snowblower{front mount}. I have used it for 3 years with<br>no problems mow about 3 acres. I didn't have color coded caps, but I followed the lines to the hookups you indicated and it worked. Thanks again. I think I will make a trip to the local John Deere dealer and buy some color caps for my hydraulic lines.

The age probably had a lot to do with it. I suspect that completly rebuilding the electrical system would have helped a lot. I still have the old Massey in my shed and someday will rebuild it completely just to have as second tractor.
