anyone withinfo on the comparison of the glideshift version of kubota tracotrs please let me know the pros and cons of it against the dt which is a synchr tranny. most people have told me the gst is mot trouble free and easier on clutches with no power loss like the hst. any info certainly would be appreciated.

I have a 4100 with the R4's. I mow the lawn with it and have had no real problems. I just try to avoid the lawn the day after rain, but that is because of all the clay I have and turfs would leave tracks in that when it is wet! If you are going with a 4200 or 4300 you will have a greater weight to deal with.<br>

I have no experience with a belly mower with a loader but deere claims you can have both on at the same time.<br>Me, I opted for a 5' 3pt finishing mower, to save $600, and for ease of removal, although I am told that the belly mower is just as easy to remove.<br>I bought a JD 4100 gear with loader and am really impressed at what the little tractor will do. Being small, it keeps the weight down which is important for mowing. This seems like a good class tractor for lawn mowing to earthmoving, as long as you do not mind a few extra trips. A small Tractor means a small bucket on the loader. Also remember, if looking at a 4100, JD does not make a hoe for it!<br>

Is it possible to mount a mid mount mower on a Kubota B20/21? Can the front loader be removed? How difficult is it? Or is this tractor best left as a backhoe/loader?

The Iseki tractors are very good units. I was a White, Ford, & Kubota dealer in KS. Iseki makes the White, Bolins & M-F tractors. But I have seen very few blue Iseki tractors, most are gray market.

John Deere makes good stuff. You will not have any problems with one of their products. However, you will find them to be somewhat pricy when purchased new. Bush Hog Squeeler is another premium product. I have a Howse 500 (5') and it gives me good service. King Kutter is a widely marketed brand with a good reputation. Most independent tractor dealers and repair shops carry one or two lines of equipment. A lot of very good stuff is made by small companies with limited distrubution areas. Implements are heavy and shipping cost avoidance favors the locals in this highly competitive market. I would shop some independents and see what they have to offer. Ask for the names and numbers of customers you can contact. You may find that a Deere is more than you need. Good luck.

First thing I always do is to replace the thermostat....even though that is<br>hardly ever the problem you need to eliminate the possibility. Cost with a <br>gasket is about 15 bucks. <br>Then you can use a radiator flushing chemical. I leave it in for about 15<br>minutes or until the engine gets warm. Thanks all for the help.I would consider a L235 but all I've found around here for sale are either brand new <100 hrs or beat up buckets of bolts ( 7000 hrs,no hood,etc) so I see if I wanna go big Orange I'm gonna have to hunt one down!<br>As for the Yanmar I will go ask the dealer about the front bearings,and also if he services them.But I am thinking it will have to be awfully cheap for me to resist a Kubota.<br>Thanks Again,<br>Keith

Amen to the coering aerator. That's going to bring up a bunch of plugs that <br>will breakdown rather quickly and serve to fill in the holes. The trick then <br>is to move the core residue to the low spots. The backward rear blade should do <br>the trick for you. just don't be too aggressive in trying to flatten. <br>Then go over lawn with a pull behind roller to flatten out where you put the <br>residue. Trick is to criss cross (2 diagnal passes) with the corer to achieve <br>lots of holes (more residue) and complete coverage. That ought to also improve <br>overall health of the lawn via loosening soil and allowing penetration of rain <br>thru the turf to engourage deeper roots.

i just purchased a 1920 new holland 4x4, shuttle shift ,w/loader and 6'box scrape for $15400.00 + $80 tax. the tractor is less than a year old 100hrs im in western north carolina. was the best deal i could find on a compact, not many around to pick from unless you buy new. the tractor has r1 tires the dealer said r4s are not avaliable on this model,just wondering how true this is. thanks to everyone on the mboard ive been checking it for the past 6months , really helped. ps i checked out the

I suppose I should let you in on a little 'northern' secret - it's a _lot_ easier to drive in & on snow when the temp is 10 degrees, than when the temp is 28 degrees. Cold snow & ice is not nearly as slippery as stuff around freezing. That slush junk with freezing rain you get is just miserable. <br>But out here on the farm 4 foot drifts are the norm.<br>--->Paul<br>

I have a 1996 Kubota that has developed a sticking throttle. It springs<br>back about 1/2 way, but will not return to idle. I have to pull up on <br>the foot pedal with the back of my foot. <br>I've disconnected the linkages and the throttle itself (on the engine)<br>appears to be very hard to turn. There is a spring on the back of the <br>linkage, but it looks too light to be a return spring.<br>Does anyone have experience with servicing this mechanism? I've been <br>over it moderately well, and I don't see anything obvious.<br>I'm awaiting my factory service manual.<br>JD
