'Not sure of the size of your tractor, but the material is definately mowable. It's easiest to ride the tractor up and over the doomed tree. As another post said, go back and cut the tree off even with the ground or you are asking for flat tires later on.<br>Lee

I found a 4300 wtih a 430 loader. It is about 4 months old with 200 hours.$13,100.<br>Does that sound like a fair price? I'm thinking about selling my Allis Chambers 5020.<br>It is a 21 hp pto with a two cylinder deisel 720 hrs. Any idea on an asking price <br>for it and a 5' king cutter finishing mower? Sounds like a great deal! How much extra would the loader have been? I'm really considering the TC25D, but the price seems as high (or higher) than your 29. Oh well, time to deal.

made. I don't know about the compact JD's but my 100 hp tractor has telescope draft hitches to
make it easier to get it around the draft hitch pin. You will need to adjust the lift draft
to level the implement. The PTO shaft should align with the implement, if it does not check with
the dealer. The tractor should have a retractable guard that lifts out of the way giving access to the
PTO shaft. Just remember patients and safety.

I tried what you about to do, refernce clearing. Started felling the trees and limbing them and piling the limbs up with all the stems lined up in the same direction. When I got exhausted several weeks later, and determined I needed a pro I found out that all the work I had done was going to cost me more than if I had done nothing.<br>Why? Because Land clearing done by Pro's is done differently than you or I can do it even if we have deep pockets for Toys.<br>A Pro can come in with equipment that can fell the tree and eat it into mulch in one step. Barring that the Pro's have a way they work that's different than what you do.<br>The Pro's also know what wood has value for Mills, if you have one large Black walnut, they clear it for free.<br>I did not have any prize lumber so I did not get it for free, I paid $1,000 per acre to have it cleared chipped and all logs removed and the groud ready to Stump.<br>Refrence stumping, the physical stumping is cheaply done by bulldozer, what cost money is the hauling of the stumps off yor property

I am lloking at a Kioti LK3054 also with a front loader. The dealer wants 14000 for the unit. I am interested in how you like yours and how reliable it is. I have about 17 acres with a mixture of woods and pasture and loads of rocks. would appreciate your input.

A compact tractor is your best option. I went with a small 18 hp gas tractor when I first bought my property and I really worked the heck out of it. I came to the realization not long after I bought it that I would need a larger tractor. This year I bought a JD 4100, it has been great! My mowing requirements are similar to yours in that the acre that my house sits on has trees, the house, an outbuilding and a barn. I was concerned that I may need both a garden tractor and a compact. The 4100 however is a small enough tractor to negotiate all of these tight turns and narrow places, I was really impressed with the turning radious. When it comes to the rest of the property, I have been having alot of fun with the loader, rear blade and york rake. The things I can now do myself, I used to have to rent or hire it done. Final thought, look at the 20 plus HP compacts, locate the best dealer near you, green, ornge or blue and go for it, You won't regret it.<br>

Hello from central Ontario!<br>From past expierences when it comes down to the nitty gritty<br>to clinch a deal go for little things. Are the tires loaded?, do you need a block heater?, is the loader bucket heavy duty or light duty? (NH you have choices). Maybe you need a back lite for midnight fun!.Will the dealer do the <br>first service on the house?. If you use your imagination and one dealer against the other you might be surprised just how far they will bend to make a sale.<br>Good luck !<br>

My dealer tells me he sees alot of interest in the spring and fall. Fall because of people trading off the one they nursed through the summer. Spring because of people getting equipment at the beginning of warm weather. If looking for a deal, my guess is to stay away from those two seasons.<br>Lee

Sistre,<br>I will try to help, H.P. ratings are determined by the type of work that you will require the tractor to do. The mowing is not an issue for almost any compact can do that. The discing will require the H.P. You may want to check out a couple of discs and look at the manufacture recomended HP. As far as other implements, a loader is great for lots and lots of stuff, get one. Other implements may include something for grading and snow removal, a rear blade is helpfull. I have a York rake that I use on a regular basis also, it can be used for soil prep. or clean up over grown wildlands as well as spreading topsoil and even in driveway maint. Implements make the tractor more and more usefull, the more you have the better.<br>Good luck and have fun.<br>CDF
