At this point I think i am going to finish up using the koyker backhoe on a small job and put the koyker, good running but broken D3850 with FEL for sale. 2000 bucks or aomthing. I rally would like to move to a smaller more agile rig with shuttle. I wonder if dealer take trades of such thing just to be done with the headache.

First is check the filter screen. If you have a loader & it works it is probably the control valve. It is common for the control valve under the lift housing to get stuck. Before disassembling it measure the threads so it can be assembled correctly.

Since our first conversation. I believe he and I are the only ones concerned and upset about this problem. The 1st shop foreman put me to work with suggestions. The 2nd one inquired with newholand,and is content to wait to hear from them in a week or two. With 20,000 invested , I am more than a little anxious. If I don't get some enthusiastic attention from the shop and a cure, I'll be shopping for another tractor.

A jerky loader function is normally due to air in the loader cylinders,

When lowering the loader with weight on it and or at slow engine RPM's the loader going down can faster than the fluid can be replaced in the 'lift' side of the cylinder, when that happens it's easier for the cylinder to cavitate (inhale air instead of the thicker oil) up into the cylinder.

It's easy to diagnose & solve though, SLOWLY (in both directions) cycle the loader up & down full extension to full retraction several times with the RPM's up at a fast idle speed. If that cures the problem you either need to add a throttle line valve (basically a choke) on the FEL or just be more cautious about lowering heavy loads.

from the E154 thought it is an electric tractor. The typical sound and the vertical exhaust from the combustion say it is not.

Does the engine have to move forward? The shaft is not split at the flex joint connection? Mine had a nut and washer missing replaced them,but would be willing to replace whole flex coupler if I do not have to loosen engine.

If this is the fact,what a flawed design.the unit has some vibration,but maybe not enough to warrant that amount of work.With the design of 2 universal joints and the flex coupler and no visible balance points,I am surprised it runs as smooth as it does!

Yeah I used to do the same thing with product called Wood Life. But bad for human life .

I've had a WORX Jawsaw for about 5 years. It will only handle about a 3" limb or trunk but it does those jobs well and is very safe, I don't use it often so I need something that allows me to work without the hazard of forgetting something. Heck, I came home one day and found that my wife was taking down a limb of a tree that blocked her kitchen view of the deer feeder. Only learning she'd had was watching me.

Oil seals on my Massey Ferguson right side started leaking about 12 years ago so I disassembled and ended up replacing the oil seals and it still remains dry but this year the left side has started leaking so I just picked up both oil seals for that side. I will definitely not buy bearings until I disassemble it and check it out due to the expense of the bearing, I don’t think the bearing is bad but it’s always a possibility. It’s not a difficult job but due to the size of the parts take your time and work safe.

The 1525 seemed to be in better condition so I went with it.
