Your post is a little light on details but generally speaking hydrostats whine when working hard, are trying to go up the hill in high range and at the same speed you were doing on flat land?
Best of luck. ....

I agree with Murf on the whining noise. It seems all tractors with hydrostatic transmissions make the noise with they are in a stress situation....working and up hill climbing. I've own John Deere 2 series and they whine, and so are the ones in the larger lawn tractors. The 2005 Cub cadet 6384 scares the you know what out of me on it's whining, and I'm searching for the reason(s) why it does it. All the fluids are at peak level and still knowing showing what causes the whine. Probably never know...that is until it stops and so does the tractor. ....

I was told by a factory CAT tech the whining under load is the pressure relief valve cycling (open / close / open / close) at extremely fast speed against high system pressures when the machine is under heavy load.
It's much the same sound as a FEL makes if you dead head the hydraulics, like holding the joystick in the curl up position after the cylinder is fully retracted so I suspect that is the cause of the noise.
BTW, while I do NOT approve of the method, the tech advised that you can dramatically speed up the heating of the hyd. fluid on cold days by rising the idle a little and holding the hydraulics against the relief valve, like as above using curl up. The constant load and restriction of the valve causes a lot of friction which in turn creates heat.
I'll stick with an leectric preheater.
Best of luck. ....

If this site supports it. You might want to post a video of it as every tractor owners interpretation could be different as to what normal sounds are ....

My 2002 TC29D whines only when in cold weather during start ups( below 30def). It is only doing it while the hyd oil is cold. After a couple of minutes of moving it it stops. Great little tractor, 3000 hrs on it. I just raise and lower loader some if I cannot wait for it to warm up completely. Good luck! ....

I just talked to new Holland shop about loader jerking violently when lowering. Also bucket curling up from up pressure. Also about hydraulic pump cavitation. It is designed to do that. Yours sounds worse than that,. Have you checked fluid level?
Mine is a 2021 with 35hrs. If yours jerks please reply

A jerky loader function is normally due to air in the loader cylinders,
When lowering the loader with weight on it and or at slow engine RPM's the loader going down can faster than the fluid can be replaced in the 'lift' side of the cylinder, when that happens it's easier for the cylinder to cavitate (inhale air instead of the thicker oil) up into the cylinder.
It's easy to diagnose & solve though, SLOWLY (in both directions) cycle the loader up & down full extension to full retraction several times with the RPM's up at a fast idle speed. If that cures the problem you either need to add a throttle line valve (basically a choke) on the FEL or just be more cautious about lowering heavy loads.
Best of luck. ....

My dad has a 2005 TC29D. We love it. Got it with under 400 hours on the clock in 2011 and I think it is up around 800 hours now. I'll need to check. At any rate, my dad has a habit of running it low rpms when working and it causes a lot of whining. Pop the rpms up and it quiets done. My JD X585 does the same thing. Pretty common on smaller tractors. ....
