Well I need something that is dependable not just one day I am fairly mechanically inclined so I probably can fix things with help and parts the pto did work but the bucket would not lift the wheels off the ground could that be a clogged filter or is the pump giving out my budget is small around 4 grand or a little more the guy selling the SD2243 wants 3500 thanks again for your help

I feel your pain and sense of dread Cheymax. About a month ago, I decided to cut some firewood from my pile of paper logs and got out my Stihl O-66. It has specific steps that must be followed for it to start and even then is not the best at being responsive, especially on cold days when it has gotten very cold.

I did my usual start steps and it fired right up for about 10 pops and died. After that, it would not start no matter what I did, including removing the plug to make sure it was good and not soaked.

After doing battle with the pull rope for about an hour, I finally threw in the towel and got a can of ether. I removed the airfilter and gave the girl an EVER so small wif of either. I loath using ether to start anything and only do it when I absolutely have to, especially with diesels. In any case, after giving the old girl a small wif of either, she fired right up on the second pull. At 63 years old, I prefer not to spend an hour pulling on the start rope until I am exhausted and sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor. ;-)

IF you have the cash and don't mind another saw, you might want to consider the Stihl MSA 220 C-B. It is a haus of a saw for an electric/battery powered saw. I think it will cut almost a cord of firewood on a single charge depending upon what kind of firewood you are cutting.

While in the Stihl shop, looking at the battery powered saw, the guy working there saw me looking at the MS 261c and I asked if they had something just a bit bigger like the 261 and he told me they had an MS 441C in the back that a customer ordered and never picked up. I couldn't resist. It has the compression release, so I will give it a try and see how easy it is to start. I haven't tried it yet.

I may still get the MSA 220 C-B to take with me when I am out on the Kubota RTVX 1100 or atv and come across a tree down on a trail.

Read all of the posts from some years ago. Is the no spill brand can still the best or have they finally come up with something more reasonable?

I have the Briggs and Stratton can and I have broken the plastic nozzle on one and had to chuck th ewhole thing and get another one. Cheap can but cheasy plastic

Embarassed to say I did nothing on this last year !

I will try to make amends and at least buy Marking paint and outline all the spots that need filling before the grass starts growing.

Last Spring I was asking about how to level my yard, so I did nothing in 2020.

I am feeling the moviation to level the low spots in the yard this spring.

I am going to get some marking paint and spray all th elow spots.

Order some dirt and get busy.

That is very true, but for those types of uses LPG-fueled gas engines are just fine.

In the past almost all the big tractor manufactures offered gas engine tractors equipped to run on LPG right from the factory.

I'm at the other end of the spectrum, we buy oils in large enough quantities that it's delivered by bulk tank truck and pumped into our shop tank. Both motor oil and several grades of hydraulic fluids, including generic Super UDT. The same is true of filters, when our order comes in it is on a pallet, sometimes more than one pallet.

Synthetic is not something we're interested in, or spending the extra money on.

An oil and hyd. fluid change isn't cheap, when you're doing dozens of machines, often more than once a month each, it really adds up fast.

I need to get a house painter and they include pressure washing in the quote. I have seen some House Washing Only services and was thinking they might do a better job.

My inlaws have place in North Carolina mountains where they take their Polar UTV's on the trails. I am definitely going to suggest that he get a small electric to keep in the UTV for emergencies where they are many many miles from home should a tree block their return.

1996 MF 231 with aux hydraulic pump added on at the time of sale. This was my dad's tractor but he passed away 3 years after buying. I don't use much but the belt is starting to break apart.<br>

I don't see anyway to replace the belt as the bottom pulley on the front of the engine looks like it was replaced with one that has a spindle going out the front of the tractor to the pump. I've had to replace part of the spindle and removing the pump is no big deal. However between the pulley on the engine and the part of the spindle I removed looks like it goes thru a hole in the frame with maybe enough space for a slice of paper to go thru. I have not been able to find a break down to see if I can remove the pulley or the proper way to replace the belt. Any help is greatly appreciated.<br>

After checking everything I had my wife turn the steering while in neutral and engine revved a little. I had replaced the alternator some time ago and the back "lip" on it was pressed up against the power steering pump and only while revved a little and turning I could see a steady stream of fluid coming from a seam in the power steering pump.

I removed the alternator and used an angle grinder to remove about 2mm of "lip" and figured I would have to replace the power steering pump. But once I had the alternator off I could see the power steering pump went back to normal looking where it had been leaking. Thankful that fixed it.

These are nice little tractors. I've owned mine sense 1996 it has 829.9 hrs just replaced the deck with a new 44" from a 48". Deck idlers are a semi annual replacement. You can drill the idler and replace the bearings with a 62203 bearing. The idler on the hydraulic pump has a tendency to lock up. It will appear to be a pump problem but it's just the idler not tensioning the belt

Some people really know what tractors are who! LOL I believe that one might have been really made by mitshibitshi and you would have had or might have had better luck for info at a Mahindra dealer for specs and parts at this time.... So many built are still like this yet today!!
