I was looking into this as well.

Homedepot sells Ryobi 40 Volt battery replacement for $179 or you can buy the 14inch Ryobi Chainsaw which includes the 40 Volt battery for $199 and comes with the charger.

That makes me feel the whole thing is too weird for me.

Still on the fence on this. Some Ryobi stuff is not bad, but they are a budget option.

We finished the job. We found out when we split the tractor in half to get at the clutch arrangement that one of the three clutch release fingers had lost an adjustment bolt and nut. It fell down inside the clutch housing. <br>

The throw out bearing was only contacting two fingers when you pushed the clutch pedal in. Needless to say that there was an abnormal amount of wear on all the parts in there. We replaced the throw out bearing and both clutch disks in the arrangement plus we had to adjust the height on the three fingers that contact the throw out bearing.<br>

The height specification was the hardest part because it called for the use of a special height gage. We didn't have the gage. We only had the specs given in the manual. The problem was that there was no reference point given to measure the height. The picture in the manual that showed the height gage in use was so blurry you could not tell where the gage was resting for it's reference point. <br>

I called Cub Cadet and they were worthless. First level tech didn't even know what I was asking for. Second level tech was no better. He knew what I was asking for but he had no answer to my question. Third level tech knew what I was looking for but had no answer for me. He could not get past the blurry picture either. <br>

We ended up winging it and when we assembled the clutch arrangement the high and low limit spec fell right into place by using the face of the fly wheel as the reference point. I asked the third level tech if there wasn't a master manual on file somewhere that he could reference. He knew nothing about that. I even asked to speak to someone in there engineering department and that was another no no. He said he had never done that before.

Update Feb 2021<br>

My Lab is 7 years old now and he is still crazy to retrieve.<br>

In December all his energy resulted in him spraining his rear right leg, so much that he was hopping on three legs.<br>
<br>
I got him a leg brace for both rear legs and this really helped him rehabilitat. Definitely made him slow down. After a little more than a week with braces, I took them off and his limp was mostly gone. A couple of weeks on leash only helped, and now he can go off leash and run around no limp.<br>
<br>
He has done very little to no retrieving, only tried with bumpers not balls. His heart is not into the bumpers.<br>
<br>
Have to see what we can do in moderation when the snow melts.<br>

Both have their place in my shop,had to cut spring perches off an axle tube and not very good for a sawzall but a grinder i can cut them off and grind the welds,in a tight spot and to say cut a bolt off you cant get a grinder to a sawzall so its like 2 different animals,really need both for the shop

I have a JD QH on my JD 972. The hitch makes it easy to attach the implement but does nothing to help with the PTO. It would take me 23 minutes to hook that up and countless scrapes and cuts. There is a product out now called a PTO Link and it shortens the PTO hook up time to 20 seconds or less. A bit pricey at about $250 but my hands and time are worth it.<br>

Thanks for the feedback.

I googled the filter cutter and the example they had was for use on Airplanes. Hmm sounds like a great idea in that case.

I also saw a magnet ring that could be put on with the cartridge filter, have not seen anywhere to buy this or if it is a good idea either.

I think I will continue to leave well enough alone.

I can relate to your issue Bob, we are in the lee of the Great Lakes get our fair share of heavy wet snow here too.

We use a variety of methods, who knows which one is best but I've always been a 'belt & suspenders' kinda guy. LOL

First, spray, It works well and for a homeowner probably the best that I've found is Pam non-stick kitchen spray. Apply it to a totally clean dry blower well in advance of snow. For a more commercial or serious application, Fluid Film spray, a little spendy but very much worth it. This is stuff we farmers use to coat things like combines. Top drawer stuff.

Spray is only a temporary band-aid kind of fix though. For a long-term fix the blower needs some mods. The rubber on the impeller is a night & day difference mod. Snow can't stick when it's exiting at a very high speed. I didn't believe in it much until I watched a demo by a local guy that used to have quite a business selling the kits. He ran a walk-behind unit with his kit on it into a puddle of water. The water shot 25' out of the blower. Then he ran the same but stock blower into the puddle, nothing but a little spit.

Blowers tend to get ignored once the sun comes out and temps start to rise. That's the time to clean them up and be sure there's no 'snags' and that the inside is all smooth painted surfaces.

That loader mounter front blower looks neat but must be very pricey and it looks like the setup is signicant enough to make a just snow setup.

One think I hate about the front blowers is the sub frame mounts are typically just a smidge to long to allow remounting the loader in a pinch when you just have too much snow, or lots of heavy snow ice mess to move around.

Boy lots to look at with this but lets start with the battery.

I would check all battery and starter connections for corrosion and check all safety sensors. Maybe jump battery from your car or truck to see if that changes things. You could also use a remote starter switch to bypass your ignition switch ....

Use the multimeter to check how much juice is getting where.

What I do is find that Kubota part number I need then Google it to see who has it. Then check the dealer prices.

Then I search for that part number on Ebay and Amazon.

I have some luck for filters on Amazon with free shipping, sometimes the filter prices are 75% off delaer price.

The oribital valve has many many parts to it. Without a manual and full parts list and access to a reliable source for any parts aside from the bearings could be a challenge.

With so many parts to deal with you have your hands full.
