Hi i have B series Kubota that has about 700 hours on it.<br>
<br>
I have never cleaned the hydraulic filter suction screen as I found it too difficult to get at for one. And not sure how to clean and what solvent is ok to use.<br>
<br>
So I only changed the Hydro oil and canister Hydro filters last time.<br>
<br>
Am I asking for trouble never dealing with the hydraulic filter suction screen? Or not messing with somehting I am unsure about OK ?

I bought a sawsall many many years ago and have used it on many occasions.<br>

But then a few years ago I had a project that would best be done by an Angle Grinder.<br>

Now I almost always grab the angle grinder for cuting metal. The vibration of the sawsall is just too intense.<br>

I was negligent on checking the blower scraper bar and skid shoes. Luckily I caught it in time before it totally wore its way up to the scraper bolt holes :-(.<br>
<br>
But all is good now.<br>

When setting the new skid shoes I put two paint sticks under the blower to give a 1/4 inche clearance on the scraper before it hits the concrete floor in my garage. Seems pretty good and leaves just a little snow that gets removed with the rear grader blade.<br>

I can relate to your issue Bob, we are in the lee of the Great Lakes get our fair share of heavy wet snow here too.

We use a variety of methods, who knows which one is best but I've always been a 'belt & suspenders' kinda guy. LOL

First, spray, It works well and for a homeowner probably the best that I've found is Pam non-stick kitchen spray. Apply it to a totally clean dry blower well in advance of snow. For a more commercial or serious application, Fluid Film spray, a little spendy but very much worth it. This is stuff we farmers use to coat things like combines. Top drawer stuff.

Spray is only a temporary band-aid kind of fix though. For a long-term fix the blower needs some mods. The rubber on the impeller is a night & day difference mod. Snow can't stick when it's exiting at a very high speed. I didn't believe in it much until I watched a demo by a local guy that used to have quite a business selling the kits. He ran a walk-behind unit with his kit on it into a puddle of water. The water shot 25' out of the blower. Then he ran the same but stock blower into the puddle, nothing but a little spit.

Blowers tend to get ignored once the sun comes out and temps start to rise. That's the time to clean them up and be sure there's no 'snags' and that the inside is all smooth painted surfaces.

That loader mounter front blower looks neat but must be very pricey and it looks like the setup is signicant enough to make a just snow setup.

One think I hate about the front blowers is the sub frame mounts are typically just a smidge to long to allow remounting the loader in a pinch when you just have too much snow, or lots of heavy snow ice mess to move around.

Boy lots to look at with this but lets start with the battery.

I would check all battery and starter connections for corrosion and check all safety sensors. Maybe jump battery from your car or truck to see if that changes things. You could also use a remote starter switch to bypass your ignition switch ....

Use the multimeter to check how much juice is getting where.

What I do is find that Kubota part number I need then Google it to see who has it. Then check the dealer prices.

Then I search for that part number on Ebay and Amazon.

I have some luck for filters on Amazon with free shipping, sometimes the filter prices are 75% off delaer price.

The oribital valve has many many parts to it. Without a manual and full parts list and access to a reliable source for any parts aside from the bearings could be a challenge.

With so many parts to deal with you have your hands full.

Nautical is correct, the B21 was only sold as a TLB (Tractor Loader Backhoe) and was a bit of a Franken-tractor.

Kubota wanted a small commercial machine and so picked & chose amongst components from various machines of that size to come up with a package which was assembled out of only the most robust pieces they could find.

Will it fit? Yes, but not without some customizing & (re)fabricating.

I have a Shibaura sd 2243 and recently had to open the hydraulic system when I replaced the starter. Now i can't get any flow to my front end loader. The hydraulic gear pump mounted on the left side of the engine has good flow to and from the rear transmission / 3PTH block but almost no flow to my loader. Checked all of the lines for blockage. Is the pump on the engine just a feeder pump and is there another high pressure pump or is it the only pump in the system? Also cannot get the 3 PTH to raise. Looking for diagrams of the valve block below the seat.

I have my Cub Cadet 7260 apart working on a clutch replacement. This is a dual clutch arrangement. If you look on page 141 of the service manual for this tractor you will see that they say to use a CAS2170 height gage to set the height of the bolts that the throw out bearing makes contact with when the clutch pedal is depressed. Now I don't have this CAS2170 height gage tool but the height listed in the specs on page 136 is 3.85"/3.90". The picture on page 141 is not clear enough to see the reference point that the legs of the height gage rest on. If I knew that reference point I could set up a way to make the measurement. Has anybody done this and do you know the reference point? Maybe a clearer picture if anyone could point me to one. Or any suggestions.

To spread the salt or sand I put a 5 gallon bucket on a had truck, and spread it by hand with a feed scoop. I dropped a hand full in a puddle last night. Yup easy way to get cracked fingers handling this stuff!

Good News :
-after dip to 9 degrees I still have a puddle

Bad News
-the Pellets are still pellets even after spending 18 hours in a puddle
-even stomping on them with my foot still does not crush them
-the car tires having limited impact on breaking these hard compressed blocks of Pelletized salt.

Next steps

-see if I can find a way to crush them without dedicating myself to a lost cause.

If no chuck them!

I had studded snows on my '68 Mustang and '70 Nova. Then the highway departments noticed the severe damage happening to the roadways and banned them. Along with that we saw the shift to front wheel drive, then four wheel drive, but most of all the tire companies improved the stickiness of their tires. I had a 2000 BMW rwd that absolutely needed winter tires in winter (I live in Minnesota) but it was important to change for summer as tread wear was not very good, a sacrifice made for snow and ice traction. It was replaced with a 2008 awd BMW and the need to change tires went away.

So they were banned in northern states like MN due to highway damage, replaced by improved tires, traction control, 4wd, front wheel drive.

My studded tire experience was nice for icy roads but horrible once winter was over as the carbide studs on asphalt spun easier than a broad full rubber contact.

Does anyone use studded tires anymore

It sounds like one of two possibilities.

The solenoid is shot or the wiring to it needs cleaning up. I'd start with cleaning up all the connections, especially the grounds. A bad connection will limit the current and cause exactly what ou're describing.
