The engine oil pressure warning light comes on above 1500 rpm. Below that it seems fine. I haven't tried to tackle the problem yet. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem

If it is a remote valve, I.E. there is 2 large cables that run between the joystick and the valve block, you could have a broken wire or disconnected linkage at the valve. Everything would look normal from the joystick end.

See if you can see motion at the valve itself when you move the joystick with the engne OFF of course.

If all of that checks out the other likely cause could be a partially disconnected quick-disconnect fitting in that circuit.

Repairs to both were performed at the same independent shop. Cost drivers on the Subaru were timing belt replacements and brake issues. Also had to do head gasket, which lead to machining head and "while you are right there" valves & guides at about the 150K mark. On average, parts cost were comparable item for item, but the MB needed fewer of them. Needless to say that the ride in the MB was awesome, the electronics and related technologies were light years ahead. In spite of being "loaded" with options, the Sube was only one step up from an econobox; marginally quieter than than my '58 VW Beetle.

Have you got an update on the stuck engine? If you removed the rod caps and where able to move the pistons then that eliminates them. have the clutch engaged and then try to bar the flywheel, that will rule out anything after the engine. If it is still stuck then the problem would be in the front of the engine, gears there drive the cam, fuel pump and counter shaft. Let us know what you find!

You can thread the chopping head with 7/16-20 tap and run a7/16-20 bolt to jack it out.

That is a rare one as in our area the majority were all four wheel drive even on the small chassis. Typically only see the two wheel drive while in other countries.

Glad to hear you're doing well Randy.

Coincidentally I built a building along the lines of what you're talking about myself. In my case a hangar / home (we call it a 'hangar-nominium') from the below linked design but as a recreational property and as a place to house my new baby, I picked up a Robinson R22. A float-plane for commuting to the cottage was becoming problematic for a couple of reasons, firstly yahoo's with boats & PWC's take great delight in cutting off taxiing aircraft, even during takeofs & landings!!! I also didn't want to cut a runway through the forest where our new hangar-nominium is (our family hunt camp) and wanted to be able to use it during the winter when plowing prior to arrival would be a problem.

I should have done this years ago!! It's a hoot. LOL

Very interesting and good points.

On the Aprilaire 445 it has a tank, float and pump to send the water over the element. And when the furnace comes on and the blower started it was not long before I could feel the hot water running to the 445.

The pump was mounted in the reservoir so it would be sucking from the top and it was located directly in line with the hot water feed. I guess the size of the reservoir was to match up to the pump flow rate.

The value of the hot water on the 445 was probably next to zero in fall and spring, and only material in dead of winter on cold morning full on heat ups.

The new Aprilaire I installed is tankless so the warm water makes more sense. This system is much more delicate and makes me more nervous about possible flooding as it has a tiny electronic valve that controls the flow based on whether the fan motor is on and whether a small float indicates a low water level. So your point about Aprilaire Engineers preferring filtered water is apt.

Anyhow the new unit does very little for raising the humidity.....:-)

Also anyone considering buying and installing an Aprilaire like I did should know that they only warrant it if it is installed buy an Aprilaire HVAC company. I tried and could not even get a question answered by them on anything.
