Looking to replace my old tractor with a new Kubota or Deere.<br>
<br>
But when I watch these lawn crews with the Zero Turn ride ons they can go up and down any grade slop and are they FAST. Plus they operate wet or dry conditions.<br>
<br>
But I need a tractor and and loader. So I am thinking compromise and go with one of the new Tractors that lets me dump the mower quicker than my old unit which is pain and then some.<br>
<br>
I just do not think I have the room to store both indoors.<br>
<br>
Anyone have both a zero radius rider and a Tractor and love it? Or have a Deere or Kubota with the new ride over mount system?<br>

Thanks I have watched the guys at the tire shop and yeah it is some pop to seal a tubeless.

I always think of tillers as good for garden use, but can or should they be used for lawn renovation? Where you have a leveling problem in the existing area.<br>

My fear is that the yard has lots of stone and while tilling would help would it create more work in the end?<br>
<br>
Probably a rock hound would be ideal ? but very costly? And do way too much damage to viable surrounding turf .<br>

I have an existing lawn that g has is really got lots of sunken spots that jar me when I go over them at normal speed.<br>

Every year I say I will spray the low spots with marker paint in the winter when it is easy to see them and every year I let it slip.<br>

Any tips on best practice approach, type soil to spread sand loam topsoil mix ?<br>

I thought my clutch was bad, so, if this works.. saves me some bucks! for now. ..
This is a neat tractor, a real workhorse around the place.

Spend the same and buy used Kubota. I was in your shoes and NH and Kubota came out with 0% financing on new tractors. I ended up with a new one year old NH and don't regret not getting a chinese tractor, although I wish I would have gotten the Kubota. With being able to buy parts anywhere for many decades to come and being able to find service anywhere if needed.

If you don't mind buying a new fixer upper and having limited parts availability. Buy the Northern. You don't get what you don't pay for.

Been awhile for me since I did a clutch job, but you will need a clutch alignment tool that looks like a custom made dowel rod to set the disk and clutch properly as you tighten it.

Is th flywheel badly damaged? I guess so, I never had that misfortune, it have to be real bad for me to mess with it. You will need an appropriate puller for you situation.

Few years back had problem with a tractor not turning over. Made no sense, it might or might not. It was due to some OLD wise people here I pulled my battery cables and looked inside the clamps. The clamps were glazed over on the side. Tried sand paper nope. Ended up buying one the terminal tool with a reamer on one end and outside tool for the post itself. That solved that problem and that had to be 8 or so years ago. Battery cables often fail but the failure is hidden from the eye until close inspection as you found out.

cutter, you have a real BEAR there! How much does it weigh? If you don't have quick attach, does that mean you have to pull the pins to remove? No doubt that is more secure,

I have one word of warning for you, WATCH OUT FOR YOURSELF. I got a new tractor and a grapple and within the first four hours or use had run a limb past the grapple ripping the screen in the grill. Part at dealer was about $355. No real to any working part which was a blessing. Had I been on a skid steering that limb would have been running right at me possibly for it may have been low enough it would have hit the machine. That happened not due to the loader working buy my driving into a pile to dump the load of limbs I am sure.

Enjoy, it is amazing what a grapple can do. Like the two lids, for odd size items no doubt it is better than a single lid. Also like the fact the points of the teeth don't line up with the lowers ones so it can get tighter on small loads.

I have my first dog in few years. Last one was really our youngest daughter's first and then my wife when she moved out on her own. He passed probably 10 or
more years ago. My current one is one not at all like I wanted but he is the RIGHT ONE, no doubt. He is about 8 months old and maybe 50 pound a mix of Austrian Sheep Dog and Blue Healer...a great mix of colors and pattern on him He is at the point he is showing his herding instincts with people. I get tickled as he does it so calmly. If our grands wander he brakes and runs after them if able. He has even taken off after my wife when she went to walk away from the group around the pond. He circled her and she came back.

However he had gotten to the point he now worries about the next door neighbors chidlrens also. If he hears them outside he must check on them and then he has learned there are those in the small subdivision across the road who need guidance...so after lots of asking and checking this week got an electric collar for training. He thought they were only shockers but learned not true and not the shock as you might think. I did try the shocking on my self and it is more of a tingle at least at the level we are at. Only one short lesson with it and it was interesting to watch him. I used the shock a little but found was getting about same response with the vibration and tone. As I heard a trainer say, all you want is their attention back to you.

My wife has said I see it now, if I were to pass he would be in the house within a week. Our oldest daughter said Daddy will put him in the will, she looked at me and said oh no, he already is. lol

Did not know adoption was up, was told the shelters has stop taking them in.

greyhorse, you would be better off to begin a new thread for your question. It would get attention over the posting in this one. I look forward to the answers on why the soot also. My only thought is does it idle or run at low rpms a lot? Is the thermometer showing it reaching normal temp or running cooler than normal?

I live near the coast of South Carolina, warmer temp that most who posted in this thread. Here cooling is the main concern. However I talked with a friend who installed both our systems on this, hold on for my dog's house. He thought my idea was great. Will be a true do it yourself closed system. Will verify some details with him again before the install but think I need horizonal lines it was either 4 or 5 feet deep to have a steady 50 something temp year round. It being a "dog" house only want to keep it at 45 or so for the winter and less than our summer heat for mid 90's to mid 100's we can have. So a steady 50 degree range should handle that.

We decided on a copper tubing made radiant coil for the floor with a cover over it that would let the temp move easy and protect the dog and pipe from direct contact. Most likely 1/2 plywood with insulation maybe below the coil. House is insulated with 2 inch thick foam on sides and ceiling.

He is a believer in the systems and says here horizonal is the way to go or as has been noted a pond of sufficient depth.

I have wondered with our heat pump why could not installed a water circulation system and using a radiator placed on top of the compressor unit why that would not save as the unit should be getting cooler air in the summer and warmer in the winter than the air temp. Of course this would only work if the fan is pulling air in the top and out the sides.

My sister and BIL in the hill country of Texas has a closed loop I am sure vertical bore and they are very pleased with it. Their temp is higher than ours and winter is often colder. Low humidity does that, the wide temp swings. He is an engineer by schooling but not work experience. He will research such to death as the saying goes or he seems to.

No doubt the grass you are trying to grow will have its height it prefers, you need to go there if possible.

One sure fire way to get weeds in a lawn is mowing it too low. Taller thicker grass will shade them and help prevent their sprouting or growing. Have your soil tested for many weeds will grow at lower ph than many grasses will. If you have County Agents there they may offer assistance with soil testing, here we have to pay less than $5 per sample and they handle the shipping and I few days we get the result back by email.

If you can share where you live and the type of soil and grass of your lawn you may get better detail recommendations.

Not sure on the leg room between the Kubota and JD. To me it was more the design of the JD loader valve or the placement. I have been pleased with the legroom on my B2710 Kubota and was pleased with it on my brother I laws JD 3000 also.

He did not have the mid mount mower so no idea on your questions on the mower. Not sure what model or even brand right off but read recently the extra frame used either for fel or backhoes had to be removed for their mid mount mower. NOW I DO NOT Remember the brand.
