I have a copy of the Shimming procedure, A bit of work, But not to bad, The Tool from the local dealer is about $500. If they wont rent me theirs , I will build my own, If you want the a copy of the pdf I can send it to you,

The hours don't bother me as we have them out with far more hours on them and still working fine. Kubotas when used properly we see as many hours on them as the larger tractors often going past the 10,000 hour mark. The price if the machine is right is a great price.
When I say it is right takes into consideration cosmetics! A machine that is banged up often has had no better care given to the mechanicals. Otherwise you could spend more and buy less of a tractor.

Looking at a B7610 with 1675 hrs for $6500. Is this a lot of hrs for a 2004 machine. Is price reasonable? Would be using mostly for moving firewood around. Any advice is appreciated.<br>

I usually just put a seat cover over the top of my tractor and mower seats when they crack or when feral cats chew the corners. Tractor Supply sells a generic model that "kinda fits all". It has an elastic cord around the bottom to hold it in place. Seat cover is a medium gray fabric color. Think it sells for about $25.00. I've covered 3 so far. Lowes sells a similar product for John Deere's with yellow color cushion for about 1 1/2 times the price.

A bit over 17 years between posts. Interestingly I still have and use my 970. Tires are swapped every spring and fall.

Thanks, but I know this will not stay in the unit. this is an old manual steering unit. no hydraulics at all.

Due to the play in the main output shaft we just completely packed it with Grease. I think a 140 gear oil may of been the right thing to use but as I said. not sure it would of stayed in the unit for long.

There should be local hose making places in larger cities that custom make hydraulic hoses to your specifications, something like Master Hose. I have had hoses made for my 930 JICase less than dealer cost. Take your old one in and they can dup. it or you can modify it.

i have recently obtained a 1986 kioti lb2204,changed filters and fluids,question is,does anyone know how to check the level of the transmission fluid,there are 2 places behind the gear shifter one red that says oil on it and the other a few inches behind it,just a bolt head,drained it and filled it according to the manual,holds 25.4 qts for tranny,hydraulics and wet brakes,but it would be great knowing a way to periodically check it,anybody?

i bought a 1986 lb2204,hard starting when temps were low,i ended up replacing all 3 glow plugs and cleaned any connectionsand coated them with no-ox i.e.battery,starter,alternator,fuse block fuse connections and also found the fusible link connections melted and insulation burned off off of it,helped 100 percent,tractors!

i know this is an old post but,i have a lb2204 had the panels off when servicing it and noticed sparking between the alternator and starter,it was the fusible link,insulation was melted off of it and was arcing against the block

A loader can be installed. The hydraulics can handle it. you can cut the pressure line & install the valve in series with the 3 point or use a remote hydraulic adapter the bolts to the lift housing.
