does anyone know the type of fluid used in the manual steering unit. I just rebuilt mine and cannot find it listed anywhere.

Thanks, but I know this will not stay in the unit. this is an old manual steering unit. no hydraulics at all.
Due to the play in the main output shaft we just completely packed it with Grease. I think a 140 gear oil may of been the right thing to use but as I said. not sure it would of stayed in the unit for long. ....
