Does anyone have advice on the best (most durable) o-rings to use in hydraulic quick connects? I currently replace mine with plain (probably buna-n) o-rings. They seal good for a while and then go to leaking again. It isn't hard to replace them of course, it's just annoying. Is there a better, more durable o-ring available for this type of application? Thanks!

I think it's all hydraulic. I've rebuild every thing up to steering column, i'll need to get a shop manual on it, before I tackle that.Thanks for the reply.

FWIW - I researched the specs on the hydraulic fluid for 6284 Cub very thoroughly. I found that Mystic JT5 hydraulic fluid had exactly the same specs as the Cub fluid and cost substantially less.

Thanks for your advice, turns out that whoever made that batch of lift pumps for AGCO all had problems. I assume that holes formed in the rubber bladder and they would stop pumping fuel. I went through three lift pumps before the dealer got a new batch and the first one worked just fine/

amazing on both points...I will be the typical amateur and over engineer...lol

Have too look at holes I can use but plan to make a metal bracket to either pin or bolt to tractor for torque and movement.

Recieved Duerr 678. Came from small engine scrap heap, dead enging but fairly good frame. I need a parts breakdown and/or service manual so I can open this unit up and evaluate its worthyness.
If it is worth buying a Honda engine and refurbing rest of machine i will do so., or it will become parts .
Where can I get manuals in PDF format ?

Typically blue smoke in a diesel indicates unburnt oil not fuel. If the exhaust is spitting liquid of any kind that indicates something is not being burned.

If you have both blue smoke and oily stuff being spit out the exhaust that generally indicates you have motor oil making it into the cylinder. That is not good. It could indicate a bad cylinder / possibly broken piston ring.

Does the engine sound normal? Is it reaching normal running temperatures? Is it making normal power?

If this is happening while it is being driven I suspect you have leak in the exhaust system. If while sitting still then would try to extend the exhaust. I still would check for leak in the system.

Not sure our gator is same model but have you tried pulling it (the lever) up while depressing the release button? If that does not work makes me think something is come lose or broken. Can think of no problem with using a lubericant to spray now the lever around the release button.

One possibility is you have air in the system, check all hydraulic lines for wear and connections
