I have an update now. I did more checking and when the tractor is running if I wiggle the connector going into the controller the glow plug light will come on and go off randomly. Also, if I turn the key to right to glow the plugs and wiggle the connecton I hear a click coming from the controller randomly. It seems that I may have a bad connection in the connector that snaps into the controller. Nothing looks bad in the individual connections. I did manage to get a few of the individual plugs to come out but I can't get them all out to squeeze tighter. I also wiggled the wires before connector and they seem fine.

I don't know for sure how to check the glow plugs. I did pull them out and set digital volt meter to ohms. I then place one end of volt meter on top of glow plug and other and other end on the electrode and I got no reading when set to ohms. Is this the correct way to check my glow plugs? It appears to be no resistance so I think they are burnt out? Can someone please give me some advice?

I asked the dealer where I purchased this tractor for help with this problem. This is where I buy all my filters, oil and parts and they were short and rude to me for asking for advice on trouble shooting my glow plug system?? I feel offended by their actions. I was good to the dealer and gave them plenty of business. I am willing to purchase the parts from the dealer if I can figure out what to buy. Seem if they can't collect a labor fee they don't want anything to do with me.

On a side note, was talking with a power equipment dealer who was a large wood burning stove dealer. We see very little used here now due to EPA rules on stoves. Said very hard to meet those requirements.

I think the first one is draft control limit for the 3PH. There is also a tilt on the 3PH for one of the other ones.

I have not taken the injection pump off my Jinma, but I have a similar Chinese tractor that I did pull the pump on.
Some of these have the pump keyed to the gear and some are just a press fit. I had to pull the gear cover on the fan side of the pump to get access to the gear that drives the pump. The gear, on my tractor, did NOT fit through the opening to remove the pump as this is all a timed setup. I hope you have marked everything. Now you will need to remove the pump gear before the pump will actually slip through the hole.
Big question, why are you removing the pump? In the previous discussion I remember you saying you had fuel coming from the injector lines when you cranked the engine. It would seem that after replacing the filters it might be ready to go. If still no start, Greg mentioned cleaning the injectors. Have you done that?

Update seven years later....

Almost gave up on the 026 again this year. Even bought a new saw at Lowes, but also bought a new plug for the 026 as a last ditch effort to get her going again.

New plug new gas, resurrected. Returned new saw to Lowes.

That was 4 weeks ago. Got another tree to work on today. Will see if the 026 is ready to go.

And double up on injector cleaning fuel additive as well. Good chance some of that crud has made its way to the injector tips as well.

Based upon limited experience it sounds like you have air being sucked into your hyd system. Only have had limited experience with this and the tractor it was on the fluid would foam up as run as the air was mixed in it but it had more hyd power upon start up compared to after running for the air I guess floated out of the oil.

Look for a sign of leak on the hyd system.

Just had the exact same issue as you are having. In fact I took my gator into the dealership and they said that my engine needs replaced. I had no issues with the gator before it was stored for the winter. Tried to start the gator in the early spring and battery was dead, replaced the battery. Still would not start. Changed spark plugs, nothing, cracked the fuel line and was getting fuel. Nothing wrong with the air intake. I order the ignition module from Gator Parts Store part #AM132577 John Deere Module is the description. It bolts on with 2 10mm bolts and plugs in to a wiring harness. The gator started right up. The JD mechanic said it cannot be the ignition module, "those never go bad and there is know way to test them, it's not the module". I am so glad I read an earlier post that said the mechanics would say that, he did! Any way, hope this helps.

Well, I ordered an ignition module (John Deere Module AM132577) found it at Gator Parts Store for $284.07(Cheapest I could find on the internet). I received it today and put it on the gator. The module is bolted on with 2 #10mm bolts, unplugged the old one and plugged the new one in and presto I HAVE A RUNNING GATOR!!!!! As soon as I turned the key the gator fired right up, just as it did last fall when I put it away for the winter.

I still cannot believe that this was the issue. Dealership said I had to replace the engine! If it hadn't been for the multiple post of the same issue I probably would have replaced the engine. Thank God for the internet and the handy/shade tree guys/gals on these sites! It is a pricey piece but way cheaper than a new issue. Hope this helps someone!

First it has been a week so you may have this solved and second I may not be any help, but hope so.

Normally you would shift PTO lever just like great shift with clutch depressed and not all the way out. No idea what type of PTO clutch this tractor has but most likely there is either a simple shift button or short lever if hyd or electric shift and you use the clutch peddle if manual clutch is what used.

If you are not sure which then look around the lift levers for a short lever for the PTO and if nothing there then with the tractor off work the clutch pedal very slowly releasing it from fully depressed. If manual normally maybe an inch or so of pedal travel engages the PRT clutch and you usually can feel it every so slightly if you are paying attention. You should be able to shift the PRT without ever fully disengaging the travel gears.

As to the pto cutting of if the lift is raised to a certain point "I" have not heard of that before. While in some ways it is easy to think that would be a good idea for such as a cutter but at same time when using a PTO pump and pull sprayer my lift is always fully raised and I have my pto running and would find it strange not to do so on any tractor for same reason, running a pump for sprayer if nothing else.
