I got an aftermarket, name-brand engine-oil filter for half the cost of the Yanmar one. And it was a half-inch longer, all the better.

Until one day, with just the right combination of load in the bucket, bump on the road, steering turned just so, a steering component holed the end of the filter. Those few bucks saved almost cost me my engine.

I use mine all the time for such tasks. I mounted it permanently to the frame, grounded it well, hardwired the live terminal through welding cable to my battery positive, and made a weather cover for it. And I hardwired a 50' extension cord to each saw, leaf blower, string trimmer, etc. <br>

Inverters (other than little cigarette-lighter phone chargers) have two numbers, the number of watts CONTINUOUS and the PEAK capacity (usually twice the former). Ignore the latter. Most every electrical tool has a plate giving the number of amps it draws (at 110v). Multiply by 100 to get the approximate minimum wattage needed in the inverter. For instance, if your saw draws 8 or 9 amps you'd look for an inverter rated about 1000 watts continuous. <br>

Power went out last night, wind damaged Directv satellite dish, some roof shingles blown off. Sounded like doors were going to be blown out from wind pressure.

Now running generator in improvised tarp tent I put up in prep for outage. My electric utility has 90% outage in 13 counties so the restore time will be low. I think I will also have problems getting gas for generator as stations are probably in same boat. I only have gas for two days, and may be forced to ration that..... ugh!

Not familiar with the M-F line but on mine, the moving parts (from the pedal but especially in the wheels) get gunky and the return springs (to retract the shoes) weaken in time. Once you get the wheels off, cleaning and freeing is not a big job, and new springs don't cost much.

Is there no pictogram on or near the light? Do you not have a manual? Has it ever gone on before? Generally, flashing red means STOP NOW and solid red means CHECK SOON.

I don't know of any lights that relate to a changed filter or a leaky HG. Typical symptoms are overheating, and coolant in the oil or v.v., so check the exact levels of both.

Parts are no longer available from Hinomoto. The Nseries parts were hard get even when Hinomoto was supplying parts. Send me the old one & we can see if we could repair or make a new one.

Most of the guages I know of read on resistance. So the guage will read all the one way with the wire diconnected from the sender, then read all the way the other way with it shorted. If your tractor does this correctly, your sender most likely is bad. If your sender only has one wire going to it, make sure it has a ground somewhere.

Just went out to the machine. The gas filter is clean, the line from filter to pump is unobstructed, disconnected tube from carburetor and turned key to on position, pump moving lots of gas. Pulled front spark plug, looked very good for being 11.5 years (or more) old and verified spark by cranking engine, saw spark cross gap and arc to ground. Put plug back in, cranked with choke, one or two combustions then nothing. I have compressor in my shed next to Gator. Weather bad here, don't want to rip apart if it might rain so I'll leave until Saturday.

Tractors will pans are used here but not for major digging. My guess no more than three feet. The biggest tractors I am aware of in this area are maybe the biggest JDs, pulling two pans digging with one at the time. Do think it has a lot to do with water level here. Am aware in some areas they can build ponds with bull doziers but again our water level here I guess is reason we did our ponds.

That B7300 with loader, backhoe, and mower deck is certainly worth 14,500.

The loader is priced at around 4000
The mower deck is somewhere around 2800
A backhoe would cost you around 6000

Add those up.......you're getting a practically new tractor for almost nothing.

If the tractor has been cared for and is in good running condition, you've found yourself a bargain.

There are two stages of power to the solenoid. One is hold voltage when the key is turned to the run position and the other is pull voltage that occurs when the key goes to start. Pull voltage activates the solenoid and shuts off when the key goes back to the run position. Hold voltage keeps the solenoid activated. I don't remember which is which, red and white are the two wires. If both stayed on all the time that could increase the amps and heat the solenoid, I guess. Or the new solenoid could be faulty. If both the red and the white wire stay hot in the run position there is a problem in the harness.
