Hi auerbach, thanks for responding. Shibaura is a Japanese manufacturer of not only their own line of tractor but also build tractors for Ford and New Holland. A SD2600 is the same as a 1710 Ford. I first thought of the head gasket but there is no miss, smoke from the stack, lack of power or water in the oil. I did a pressure test of the radiator and over night it lost 5 pounds. I hate to pull the head and find out it could be something else.

Just tried to wire up my alternator on my 1978 belarus mtz50.<br>
3 wires to the outside of it where ate off by cows! connected the heaviest wire to the biggest terminal which has 12v through it when the grounding switch is on. The smallest wire is an earth wire which also comes from a black box mounted to the power steering at the front(relay i think) which i put to the top terminal. The next wire has 12v running through it when grounding switch is on and then drops to about 2v when connented to the bottom terminal of the alternator. When tractor is running, power remains the same at these points but power is then output out of the 2 small wires toward the engine side of the alternator then toward the regulator in font of the windscreen. This alternates from 3.4 to 6 or so volts each. The charging light goes out but the battery is not charging. Looked online and saw something about a jumper wire, so tried a jumper wire from the constant 12v to the switching wire on bottom terminal. Worked well, everything charging as it should, ampmeter in dash going up full no promblem, went round to check the wiring at alternator and it had got very, very hot!! Turned all off and am now back to scratching my head! Sorry for going on and on but any help would be very greatful or maybe a wiring diagram would help. Thanks all.

I have a 1988 Long 360 that is blowing oil out of the vent tuben on the side of engine. Engine has good commpresion and run fine (does't smoke) but oil constantly come out of tube and a rate of 2 quarts a hour. Any suggestions?

Ah, too bad we didn't know that up front. Manual steering is rare compared to the number of imports that came with hydraulic steering. So finding a steering box in a boneyard might be challenging - but not impossible. The same manual box is used across the Jinma 200 Series. So you don't have to limit your search strictly to a scrapped FarmPro. Otherwise a new one will run about $350.

If however, you would rather rebuild your current steering box, I have an exploded diagram of the manual steering - with individual part numbers. But I can't upload it to this site. You'll have to contact me via private message, so I can get your email address.

Talking generally (I've never seen a Belarus), no, you don't need a ground for a diesel to run.

To keep up the battery(ies) you need grounding, charging, connections, and regulation. (Make sure it IS an alternator, because most Eastern European tractors use generators, which makes a difference.) If you don't have all this, you can use it anyway if you cut the key once it's running (you won't have horn or lights), and put a charger to the batt. after every 10-20 starts.

Never seen one but I doubt it would have a board. Small-tractor wiring is all pretty simple and similar, so if you can't figure how to get what you want, any tractor shop should be able to wire it easily.

Hello my name is Nathan And i Work For LongParts.com as for the hydraulics and the transmission yes they do run off the same fluid filled thru the transmission and there is a possibility that there is air in the lines so yes bleeding air would be appropriate if there is any other questions feel free to ask

Liquid in rears since new; it's now 5000 hrs, 32 yrs. No problem mowing, but the tread is turf. Both valve-stems corroded from the calcium after 10 years (one farm-tire service call, no big deal). Nothing else, though I used to get jumpy about slow leaking until I realized it was condensation from where the liquid made the tire cooler.

Hormer1,

If you believe that your tractor is spinning too easily, that could be a sign of low compression in one or more cylinders.

The smoking issue is also a sign of low compression.

Low compression problems can be caused by a blown head gasket, worn or pitted valves, worn or stuck piston rings, or even a cracked head.

The best and fastest way of determining which cylinder(s) is causing the problem, is to attach a compression tester to the glow plug ports.....one cylinder at a time. While this test will not point to a definitive answer, it will at least provide you with a starting point.

A universal cylinder compression tester kit will cost you about 40 bucks.

Hello my name is Nathan and i work for LongParts.com. Your tractor is made in Brasov Romania, A couple of things could be happening 1: you could have a broken spring on the pressure plate 2: the alignment could be off on the discs and the pressure plate both of which you would have to split the tractor to repair or replace
