Hey Guy's---I'm bak with another Question---

Can mud cause a track to come off?

I threw one off today ---The tracks were loaded with mud from the day before. But also I was goin down a rocky trail, so I don't know if it was the mud or the rocks ---but I'm thinkin it was the rocks & perhaps the track needed adjustment. And at the time I was not doing much turning---just a bit of steering.

Anyway---can mud throw a track?

BTW---I'm gettin pretty good at puttin the track bak on by my self---Though this time it was a little harder in the spot where it came off--( photo shows where I had to work on it )--not to mention the mud on the tracks & drives.

Makes a clicking noise, like signal is on, even though tractor isn't running, key still in the house. Any Ideas?

I wouldn't know a Belarus if it fell on me, but some tractors have an internal fine-mesh screen that you undo access plates to remove. If that's what it is and you find it and it's similar to those on Yanmars, pull it out carefully, noting how it goes in and where any O-ring is (inspect for needing replacement), clean it in kerosine or diesel, examine for imperfections, and put back.

My manual calls for this service (drain, replace external filter, clean internal one, new fluid) every 300 hours. Maybe it's never been done on yours.

Ok. First thing to check then is roll pin #2. If that's broken or missing, moving the lever fails to actually move the shaft. Next, look at the detente mechanism #7 thru #9. The pin fits into the slots on fork shaft #14. One slot is to hold the lever #3 in the 2wd position, the other to hold it in the 4wd position. There are issues inside that are more complicated to fix. But let's just start with the outside stuff for now.

Don't just observe the roll pin, double check to see that the shaft is actually rotating with the lever movement. Drive out the pin and inspect it if in doubt. If the roll pin is broke, drive out the remaining pieces - then consider double pinning the lever. Get a new roll pin the same size as the original, then find a second pin to fit inside the first. Nest the pins, then tap them through the holes as a pair.

If the pin is ok, inspect the detente mechanism. If it's actually there, dirt and excess paint are most often the culprit. If it's missing, clean the hole and replace the missing pieces.

If it shows the engine rpms for 540 PTO rpms it is built to run there for hours. But does not mean you need to run it that high if not needed. Once reason you do run high engine RPMs is to have the pto running the necessary speed for such as mowers. For such as any mower you run the engine at speed to keep the cutters at their speed and use the gear you need for ground speed.

This thread came to my mind today as I passed a DOT tractor with boom mower on it. Even driving by parked tractor could tell it was lexan and was bolted in place on the cab. Cab looked not to be a JD cab and might have been fabricated locally.

Fuel so diesel. It turns over but will not fire, at all? Any smoke for the exhaust?
Did you try bleeding the system? Have you checked that fuel is getting to the injectors? Have you checked the fuel line to be sure it is even getting out of the tank? Could be trash in tank. Could be two issues you could have run out of fuel and in the backing up somehow tore loose a saftey swtich that is preventing fuel to pump.

First rear finishing mower ever used was a King Kutter behind an 8N I think. It was my nephews. Did a good job but boy was it tough steering in tight areas.

the hydrolic 3pt. won't lift at low rpm. it will lift a disc at very high rpm. is there a point to check hyd presure? tractor has been setting for an extended time. is there a filter that could be causing this? if so, where is it located? i thank everyone. leon

The battery setup is not ideal, it is four 12 volts hd depth cycle batteries. They have some age on them, but seem to be working fine they will hold a good charge. The battery setup should be eight 6 volts batteries. I got this gator used several months ago. When the gator runs it seems fairly strong.
About the cables and connections I have check and replaced some of them. I would like to get a better feeling about it before I drop 1,200 to 1,400 dollars on new batteries and cables. I would like to rule out the motor controller. I do appreciate any help I can get.
