Skip think they got the words out of order: WE "hope" for "change" in the white house. I really believe if the right candidate is elected along with positive elections in the Senate and House the economy will almost at once begin to open up. People are so tired and companies that have money for the most part are holding onto it to see which way it is going.

When you say plenty of juice at the starter you don't mean it is turning over do you?

Other safety switches normally with PTO on any tractor and some have one requiring you be in the seat. Also if it has both range and gear levers both may need to be in neutral.

If they are separate look at the top rear of the transmission for the lift fill point. Having said that are you sure the transmission and lift are separate? Are you finding a point to check both?

I have an older MF 1190 with a lot of hours. I have used what I call the Emergency Brake located by a pedal in the middle of the bottom of the dash. There is a pedal next to it which released the brake. It has either broken or come undone and I cannot release the Emergency Brake. Any help appreciated.

hello everyone,

It's been quite awhile since I posted here. We had a busy year away from the farm and have not spent much time there this first year. Didn't use the mf135 that much at all. she pretty much sat for the year.
I need to find a mechanic to go over her and do the maintenance and fix a couple of leaks.
Anyone recommend someone in the Orangeville area?
I would prefer to work with an individual and not the local equipment shops.

I have a recent model Kubota which came with super udt in the transmission. When the dealer did the first service he replaced the fluid with standard udt. Apparently the super udt is not available in Australia as for Canada. The problem I have is the hydrostatic transmission pedal became sluggish after the oil change. I complained to the dealer who just lubricates the linkage. He says he will mention it to the rep but nothing seems to happen. By sluggish I mean that if you take your foot off the pedal while moving, the tractor keeps going as the pedal stays down. I sometimes have to kick the reverse pedal to stop it. This can be dangerous in some situations. It seems to be worse in the winter as after a couple of summer 33deg (90F) days the pedal started returning normally. The pedal is quite free when the tractor is not running which indicates to me that the linkage is ok.
I looked in the manual and found a printed sticker on the lube page saying either fluid could be used. Obviously put there by the Australian importer. I removed the sticker and the original print said to use super udt with no mention of standard udt.
I know that super udt is a thinner oil than standard and as the hydro transmission was designed for this oil it is feasible that the thicker udt somehow is causing this problem. This would explain why the udt is now working when it is hotter and also thinner.
I have thought about importing the correct oil but being a dangerous goods this is probably out of the question. I have been putting up with it but it is disappointing that an otherwise good product is marred by what is probably a marketing decision by the Aust importers. On paper the udt spec would appear to be fine however field testing sometimes tells a different story. I may be completely wrong and I will probably never know as the dealers are just not interested. Such is the modern world!

Hmmmm on the Honda mileage that is what I thought until I saw how big the Honda gear is... for example I saw a Honda Fit parked next to a Honda CRV parked next to an older Impreza. The Impreza was more the size of the Fit which surprised me. The CRV was really an SUV not at all in the same category as the Fit or Impreza which are more in the compact car category.<br>

On the Pilot I get 19.6 with the local mix I do here with all the up down the hills/mini mountains, on a trip I can get 22. With the CRV on a trip I can get 32 around here local I get just under or at 24 MPG.<br>

I am in a weird place right now trying figure what I want to be when I grow up :) While at the same time trying to figure out how to get the funds to send my two kids to college. So you make a good point, I need to figure that out before I spend any money. As Auerbach says its really cheaper to do nothing unless you need to....

A trickle charger pushes in a small (generally one amp) but nonstop current which can harm the battery after it's fully charged. They're fine if you check the voltage every few days and connect/disconnect accordingly. If they fail it's hard to tell.

The new breed pushes in a little more (usually 1.5 amps) if and when the voltage drops. That's what I have on all my equipment that's in seasonal or dead storage, hardwired to the battery. The signal light lets you know it's working.

My wife and our oldest daughter went but I had nothing to do so stayed home and trenched in put in water lines. Well began putting in water lines. But in listening to the news while on breaks there were several issues at Wal Marts across this country with a shooting in an parking lot across the street from one here. Wal Mart and some other stores have got to rethink the way they are doing this for think they are either going to begin being hit with law suits for the situations they know they are setting up or the people who they really are trying to attract with stay away.

I have had my lights on the ROPS since 2004, and when they were first installed I had them clamped on the outside ... and yes even though I only have branches on the perimeter of my property, they got snagged, bent or broken just as Murf said...<br>

So now I have them mounted on the inside of the ROPS, one forward one rearward. They are a must have for me.. the loader and blower make the regular lights useless... It is a simple install and the aim stays right and never moves... I think the magnet ones might move with vibration .. particularly on a folding ROPS...<br>

You can see that the mount is nothing fancy just a "U" that fits over the ROPS bar and an "L" bracket with self locking nuts. You can see the twists in it from prevous snags when mounted on the outside.<br>
