John Deere 2750 starting procedure

I am trying to fix an old 2750 for a neighbor. Don't know how to start it. Never owned a JD. I engaged clutch, placed transmission in neutral, turned key, and no joy. New battery installed, plenty of juice at starter. I just don't know if I'm missing an interlock or something. No manual. Help!

When you say plenty of juice at the starter you don't mean it is turning over do you?

Other safety switches normally with PTO on any tractor and some have one requiring you be in the seat. Also if it has both range and gear levers both may need to be in neutral. ....
