Murf, if you travel on I-95 have a BBQ place recommend very heavy. It is on Hwy 38 in SC just a few miles south of the SC/NC border. The only times certain they are open is Friday and Saturday from about 4:30 to about 9:00 PM, maybe Thursday same time but that is it. They are almost totally dry rub with cooking over wood. Strong flavor but very good. Name is "Shulers". They on the east of I-95 as going to Myrtle Beach about two miles from I-95.

Now if you are coming this way and are going to stop there you let me know and I will make the drive and buy your meal (you and Mrs. Murf).

Something I like about real people, we can and do enjoy such simple things to such great levels. Anyone BBQ or smoke Spam?

Harvey you are right on the frozen and sorry to miss it. Dennis it seems Dept of Homeland Security reads TP for they issued warning on frying frozen turkey today.

We are safe other than exploding turkeys it seems. I feel so much more comfortable knowing this is the biggest danger my family faces.

Have you checked to be sure your choke is locking closed during a cold start. I have to hold the choke switch down on mine to make sure it is choked. You may think the choke is locked closed, but you have to remove the air filter and observe that the choke plate stays closed.

A month or so ago I was cooking some chicken on the gas grill and I noticed a sweet potato or most likely a yam sitting on the counter. So I got sliced the yam up into small cubes skin and all and placed it in a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil, added a small amount butter, and a pinch of D+ (my spicey seasoning of cayenne, coarse Black pepper, and Mrs. Dash). I wrapped it up and put it on the grill.<br>

My daughter is still raving about it and begging for me to make it again. Some of the skins where a little blackened so that I thought I had ruined it but it was delicious.<br>

I have a small excavator which was giving me a problem with the hyd not working (those which use solenoid to control the flow) when first cranked. One time it would and next not and so forth. Checked all I knew to and was of the opinion it had to be a control panel that is oh $500 or more. When happened to replace battery and what do you know that issue went away. It seems the old battery was strong enough (amps) to crank the engine but voltage was too low to engage a relay to operate the solenoids. Now the battery has some age on it and it is sitting for a month or more between uses that problem has come back. Wish had maintenance charger on it but no power there and with leaves on trees full shade. Might be workable with solar charger now the leaves are off, oh one more chore.

These following terms are pretty much industry standard as used with a bulldozer or road grader blade.<br>
<br>
A) is just called 'rotation' or sometimes 'cutting angle',<br>
<br>
B) is usually called "blade tip" but sometimes "pitch".<br>
<br>
There is one further term that you sometimes come across too but you haven't listed and that is "offset" or "slew". That is when (depending on your blades construction) you either slide the mouldboard sideways relative to the rest of the frame, or pull a pin near the 3PTH and slide the arm that goes back to the blade over sideways. This is used when you want to put the blade out beyond the rear wheels to bring material up out of a ditch for instance.<br>

As an example, if you look at the blade below, you can see that by adjusting the black link between the blade and hitch you can adjust the angle between the hitch itself and that arm, doing so pushes the blade out to either left or right side.<br>

With the machine back in 2WD position, move very slowly forwards in a dead straight line while slowly moving the lever back to the 4WD position.

If the unit is not moved back & forth fairly regularly the shift linkage does get sticky. It's pretty common.

I think you got the key to it right there Skip.

We've used those tongs in our family for some 9 generations that I know of. The only thing they ever hurt was a toe or two when they were dropped on them. ;)

The only time anything will fly is if the chain, rope, strap or cable pulling is under tension and is suddenly released. Stored energy when released has to go somewhere.

The idea of those hooks though is that the harder you pull, the harder they bite in. If you happen to snag the front of the log on something, the hooks are supposed to tear out of the wood, slowly releasing that stored energy, not violently or suddenly.

The key to safely using them is to a) make sure your skidway (the path you drag them on) is clear of roots, rocks and stumps, b) you're pulling with [u]only[/u] a Grade 70 or better chain (much harder, less stretch).

A common answer is that the oil will be over-pressurized and blow past seals but I don't think so.

It depends on engine design, RPMs, and the amount of overfill. You don't want fast-moving parts (in most non-overhead designs the crank lobes) whacking the elevated oil surface because (1) frothing the oil makes it less effective as a lubricant, and (2) the shock that the part was not designed for could break it.

You can call it FOPS for Fall On Protection Structure. But you're looking for Roll Over PS, usually two strong but open bars to prevent an overturn from squishing you, whereas you need a solid roof.

Surely there's an engine tag, maybe covered with grease.

Pretend you're trying to buy one and look up that model for dealers showing photos and specs to confirm what it is.

When you know, your best bet for a tank would be one being parted out at a dealership or tractor salvage yard.

Good point, even if I had all four wheels locked in 4WD the ABS seems like it would be a better choice. But that is counter to what I have been doing :( And with the FWD dominance of the CRV, using the engine to brake is a pretty bad practice.

Note that the shift lever extends below the cover plate. It should end in a ball shape, maybe the size of a small marble. That fits into the channel that slides on the rails. If it's there, take care to make sure it STAYS in the channel as you replace the cover plate. If it's broken off, you need to fish the broken piece out of the tranny before it destroys a gear set. Clearly the shift lever would have to be replaced.

Yes there were restrictions on the old server, the work effort was to build a dedicated server so that there are none. Quite a bit of work building it from scratch though!<br>
