#1. The designation Number is based on the mid-bucket point on the 402 and the bucket pivot pin on the 504.<br>
#2. Loader arms on the 504 about 9" closer together.<br>
#3. Pin spacing on bucket 2" closer together on the 504.<br>
Would this reduce breakout force?<br>

Lift capacity is the same between the two but personally I would rather have the 402 because of the wider arm spacing and the bucket pin spacing. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?<br>

Mystery piece identified!! It is the 3 point hitch control lever lower stop block. It was already missing when I bought the tractor...amazing how it got wedged where it was found.

Ebay has two listed for $500 and $600. The guy has to be making $200-300 on each IMHO. Ask your dealer what he would give on trade-in for it, then double the price and that is roughly what he would want to resell it for. Take the difference between the two prices and that is likely what you could get private selling. If he offers you say, $200 and you double it to get $400 selling price and that leaves you $300 private sell you are gonna be pissed lol. BUT I doubt he'll even make any offer because if you do the math based on YOUR purchase price there's a bunch of money still not accounted for. But we know where that went. It's like when my customers wanted a job done and I broke it down pricewise---I'll do this or that included, or I gave them a discount---case in point: a guy wanted the end of his driveway built up with broken concrete I was supplying stacked to support it over a deep ditch. As part of the deal he wanted gravel scraped up from his driveway and spread---3-4 yds. Okay $100 more. (I already had it my mind that I gave him a big discount and another 100 makes the deal fairer for me) Done deal. So I thought. I get ready to spread the gravel and he says he'll do it himself. I said great now I don't have to do it--but the price isn't changing. Boy was he pissed but a deal is a deal.

Ihave a shibaura se6300. Bought under the pretence that it was a mitsubishi. Anyhow i have had good service with it but finding parts is tough. Everything works good except the lift. Would like to sell if anyone is interested.

Buckets are as simple as implements get so I'd find a metal shop that does welding and farm work, and let them straighten, reinforce, rebuild.

Mainly about the Chisels being the "wrong" way. The web site states that a lot of the components are grade 50 steel which I imagine is tougher or wear resistant. A 4' bucket weighs 240 lbs. so there seems to be plenty of material used. I will let you know what I get for an answer about the chisels.

It would be neat if those were for real. They would really put the squirm on Orange and Green. I'd buy a couple, one for a Sunday tractor and one to use during the week.
One of our old neighbors would drive nothing but blue Buicks, never traded one in, the newest one only got driven on Sundays.

Having worked in large equipment company for a few years jb may be right. But would be hard for it to have traveled from there to where you found it unless done on purpose. At least seems it would have been painted. However his thoughts make sense and so still does a clamp.

You can put a picture on your profile. Yours did not work for some reason but you can try again. I've never had a problem with that feature.

Or, you can place a picture on a website somewhere like photobucket.

Once the picture is accessible with a link then you can give users access to the picture in a few ways. The easiest is to use the 'link' box when posting. Give the picture a title in the Link Title box and then copy and paste the link to the "Link URL" box. Be careful that the http text at the beginning of the link isn't duplicated (easy to do when copy and pasting).

If the link is to a picture you can paste it to the Picture/Image URL box instead of the Link URL box.

You can also put a link or picture inline with your text. When you post there are instructions on how to do that just above the text box where you type your message.

The Land Pride tiller has did fine, no problems yet, but probably hasn't did five acres total in it's lifetime.
I don't really remember what it cost for sure, but in the 12-1400 neighborhood I think, that was a few years ago too, so likley would be more now just like everything else.
If my memory is correct I think mine is a 1558, and it is a forward rotation.

OK I have some ideas. I assume you are checking the spark at the plug while grounded to the motor. I see it is a new plug so we can assume you are getting spark in the cylinder. I think taking a compression test is next, you could have a burnt or stuck valve or a broken valve spring. If all that checks out ( you should have at least 90psi compression ) the only other thing I can think of is a sheared or partially sheared flywheel key. If it won't fire on starter fluid, that tells me there is no compression or the spark is getting there when the compression isn't present. Also, here is a compression release on the end of your camshaft, i'm not sure if it could malfunction enough to make it not start, but that would show up in the compression test.

I have almost driven to my brother's to read the serial number on his but have passedon that. Doesn't Massey use a tag with the model and serial number stamped on it? If so it would seem simple to be sure you have the serial number. If that is where you are finding this number are you able to take a picture of it? If not get another set of eyes to read the tag.

I assume it was a Massey deal who told you the number was wrong.

I have the Deere power beyond kit on my 4310 for a 48 hoe, and yes 300 bucks is too much for what you get, and again yes, somebody had to make the first one, God didn't create it.
From what I can gather in my somewhat stale knowledge being I've had mine quite a while here's my take on it.
The 48 hoe has it's own bypass valve, if you use a remote outlet for your source you will be dealing with two bypass valves one in the remote and the other in the hoe, I don't know the relief pressure settings of either one. Will that cause a problem? I don't know for sure. Possibly there is less flow due to smaller lines, etc to a remote rather than the three point circut, again, I don't know for sure.
The Deere power beyond kit takes it's source of fluid from the three point hitch circut, basicly eliminating the use of the three point arms once they lift the hoe into the mounted position. When youn switch the hose form the three point circut to the hoe you are dealing with only one bypass valve that is in the hoe. When switching the hose from the three point circut to the hoe circut do not have the engine running because the hydraulic system is dead headed with no bypass relief valve and will destroy something likely the pump.
On your other post about the block of steel along the valve bodys. I couldn't get your picture to come up, but from your description I don't know what it is.

Thank you everyone for your input. You helped to confirm my thoughts.

Right or wrong I do have R4s on the NH T2210. I use it to navigate some steep climbs through woods and to pastures we have in a valley. I have no problems on the slopes. I do tend to create tread marks when the grass is wet--like now--as we have precious little top soil on good ol' Pennsylvania clay!

I will likely get the CC 2554 to do the lawn--but I may push it off and see how I do with my current walk behind mower. I have no intention of making more lawn--I am trying to find was to make more pasture or woods or areas of tall warm season grasses that I won't have to mow.

You know that if you're guiding the tiller by hand, you need a forward so the tines not only dig but help propel. With a tractor-mount you can use either, but if the soil is tough and you want to go deep in one pass, for the same reason the reverse takes more power.<br>

If there's lots of rocks, the reverse may throw them ahead into the tilling path where you keep hitting them, whereas the forward tends to toss them behind.<br>
<br>
Finally, a forward can occasionally push the tractor; a reverse can slow it. Some operators feel uncomfortable with the former but don't mind the latter. <br>
<br>
Why the extra cost? Reverse tines push harder (they add the ground speed instead of subtracting it), which could be meaningful in a powerful puller that's going fast, so the moving components may be built heavier.<br>
<br>
Not a big deal either way. Most purchasers aren't even aware they have this option.
