Studioe, I pushed a pto shaft with a rear mower enough to cause me problems and it was not detectable looking at it. Was told as Harvey said bent a shifter fork.

A MF dealer found the Hydrostatic filter for �127, I was hoping for a cheaper alternative. I want to get the correct oil & permatran no longer available, I have been told Super Universal 10W30 is equivalent

To me it only made sense that if the engine was running fine, but as soon as I shifted it into gear and it stopped within 3 seconds that something was cutting out the engine. Knowing that there are 3 interlocks: seat switch, gear shift switch and PTO switch, I started with the most accessable one, the seat switch. I see another post, where someone is jumping an interlock switch, but I wonder if the circuit is normaly open or normaly closed? He may be jumping it but not defeating it correctly. I bet a shot of lock de-icer on these switches would help too.

if no hyraulics work and the tractor starts and runs then there are two potential things left.

The drive to the pumps broke, unlikely but possibly.

The second is that there is still moisture in the system leaving water in the pick-up area that turned to ice.

It seems that the second one would also be unlikely do to the factory spec fresh NH fluids and filters.

If it is still water, then a magnetic heater on the transmission would or should do it. I from time to time also use HD heat guns or a old hair dryer on the lines and hoses. (my wife gets made when I used her's) It is not a good idea to run it like this as the pump is running dry and would ruin it.
To check the oil on the did stick, has the color of the oil changed since it's been installed?

My main reason was that the gator is I believe a 99 with about a bazillion hours. Maybe I'll just do a complete engine swap with the 24hp kawi from small engine warehouse.

No, that pretty much cinches it. If you do not have proper flow on the return line then definitely you have a wrong valve or a plumbing issue.

The reduced flow on the return line is IMHO a symptom of pressure on both sides of the cylinder at the same time. If that is the case, then the small flow you are getting is either the difference between the rod and non-rod side of the piston, or the leakage past the seals of the valve, cylinder, or both.

I recently purchased a Shibaura Steiger special tractor, the three-point lift on the back of the tractor does not operate.it uses two solenoids which are mounted on the back of the hydraulic unit by the arms. The wiring had been disconnected and reconnected to switches, I would think this had been done because the automatic sensor on the arm stopped working to make those connections. The switches are wired to this solenoids obviously to activate them. Does anyone know where I can get a new solenoids for this tractor there is a number on the solenoid 405. I don't think the second solenoid towards the back channel is working and is locked in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated I can not see the plunger for this solenoid doing anything since the pin it would push down is locked into place all the way down. I was told that that the number relating to this tractor was SD2203, it also seems match the Ford model 9000. But the Ford does not use the solenoids and is totally mechanical. Any ideas or help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. Bob Davis

As to using industry charts it would seem you have to know the grade of the studs firts which I doubt would be easy to find without asking dealership.

EW, left hand threads, have seen that years ago. Think it might have been an old carry over from horse drawn wagons where the nuts were threaded to be kept thight by the direction the wheel turned it it rub the axle nut. Right side R/H thread and L/H on the left side.

As to being careful about the use of 4 wheel drive with the new wheels it would have been my thought it was due to better gripe with the new tires, not difference in diameter due to wear of the old ones. Might be those two and more.

Likely the overflow tube puking coolant. Check that the radiator and hyd fluid cooler in front of it are cleaned out. These engines run well but need good cooling. I let the engine run full throttle then shoot the garden hose at the front which helps pull the water through.

well did some looking and i think the inline heater is the one for me simple to put on as well. the napa store up the road has one going to go and get it today

Well, right now you're starving the pump. So you have to start by resolving the sediment bowl issue. Open the shutoff valve. Then trace the fuel line from the sediment bowl to the pump. The metal thing at the end is called a banjo fitting. Unbolt it. See if any fuel starts filling the sediment bowl. If not - inside the banjo fitting is a screen. When that's clogged, it will airlock the sediment bowl. If it's clean, then remove the hose at the sediment bowl end. If the hose collapsed internally, that can airlock the sediment bowl too. <br>

If it's not the banjo screen or hose, you'll need to drain the tank. Get what you can out with a siphon hose, then be prepared to (try and) catch the rest when you unscrew the sediment bowl from the tank. Once you get the bowl out in your hand, you'll see a filter screen at the top. It may be clogged up. If not, remove the glass bowl. There should be another screen on the underside of the metal housing. If all those are clean, then there's something wrong with the fuel shutoff valve in the bowl itself. Some of them were drilled off center. You should be able to look through the housing and see whether the pasages line up. <br>

It might be necessary to replace the entire sediment bowl assembly. Anyway - get fuel flowing as far as the input to the pump, then we'll pick it up from there.<br>

By the way, your FarmPro is a Jinma, made in China. There is a forum here dealing specifically with Jinma tractor issues. Also, it's a diesel engine. Make sure you do NOT try to run gasoline through it.<br>

I bought a shibuara SD2203, It's a Stiger FL 20-50, I fixed the Hyd.system for the front end loader but the 3 point lift was locked with the arms in the up position. I released the fluid and the arms came down, but I can't get them to raise again. This unit has two solenoids mounted on the hyd. unit behind the seat, somebody changed the wireing and connected them to switches. Does any one know the order these solenoids should be turned on? I tested them and they seem to activate ok, but still no lift by the arms???Any help would be greatly appreciated. bob
