I need a maintance manual for this tractor and im unable to get one. Where can I get one or how can I get one.

I finally got the manual for this gator does not tell me much except other then if the oil light is not on it won't start does anyone know what that means the manual did not explain what to look for other then bulb or loose connection. I just don't know were to start on this gator.

I have 2 tractors, Mt1601d & Mt160d. these tractors are the same. the Mt160D pulls a bush hog & equiped with heavy duty hardware that is attached to the underside of the tractor differential case. I need to purchase the same for my other Mt1601D, without spending a fortune...any ideas?<br>

The longer the ramp the easier the slope but the heavier to raise/lower. If you get the common type, hinged at the back and raises to vertical, consider adding a "Gorilla lift." Not costly, and lets me raise one-piece ramp with a finger. Or, get a two-piece ramp (left and right halves).

If tie-down points (either front and rear or, as suggested, at each tire) and a winch platform aren't included, check that it's designed so as to permit you to attach your own.

There will likely be a battery (to engage the brakes if it detaches while rolling). Eventually it will need replacing. Some trailer batteries are easy to match, others, I've heard, impossible, requiring a new case too.

(I assumed trailer tires were inferior or defective car tires, but seems I was wrong.)

They do still call them sticks or yokes depending on the style of controls.

I don't worry about technology and progress too much though, the plane I fly normally was built in 1953 and I firmly believe it's as good as anything built today. It sure is a bunch more roomy too!! It's like a '53 Chevy with wings! LOL

I do have a form of autopilot though, for when I need to look at the itty bitty screen, or take pictures. I do that lots.

All right, I get it back from the dealer (where it ran perfectly of course). And it ran for a couple of weeks at home. Big storm hits the midwest (BTW- a CX with a plow and wheel weights blows away a snow blower :}). But of course it acts up as I try to plow through the storm- runs ok for 45 minutes to 5 minute, or until I start after awhile warm. I can barely keep it running by constantly starting and varying the choke setting- full choke, partial choke, as I limp home- put-put-put, get home and shazamm! works perfect again- but I noticed that slightly moving the spark plug wire effects the engine rpm noticeably.

So I think I've got an ignition problem- not a fuel problem- and now I remember my 1972 Pontiac Lemans (yes, shows my age) had a similar problem- only fired all 8 on choke at times. Took me forever to figure it out as it was a carbon track under the distributor cap between the primary and one spark plug. Varying the fuel mixture through the choke affected the voltage/timing of the spark through the defective ignition.

I think I've got a bad plug and/or coil wire as this problem first happened after its initial maintenance (it's less than 2 years old).

For your future reference I suggest that you contact the folks at R. F. Houtz & Sons for your Cub parts. I have used them to purchase my service parts for my Cub and they have been extremely helpful and shipped my orders right away. I found the parts person I spoke to very helpful too. I don't know if their prices are lower than others, but I do think you will like their service. They are located in Illinois so you should be able to get parts that are in stock from them within a day or two via UPS.

All this talk of gutters, I just noticed that my downspout/gutter on the 50 foot ladder side of the house (never been cleaned in 12 years since we don't have any trees that close to the house) is clogged. KT your idea, once we dry out, might do the trick with the blower ( if I can get the the long downspout out of the ground drain pipe :(<br>

Two ideas. Either the pawl on the shifting fork is broken off and binding in the shift block and not allowing it to move the shift collar to the forward position, or the needle bearing under the forward gear dried up and fused the gear to the input shaft. If it is run low on fluid the bearings on the input shaft dry up first because they are the highest in the transaxle. Either way it has to come out and be split apart.
