I guess.. to my understanding you still need volts to turn the starter and the ignition doesnt have any volts...this is my first diesel tractor so any help would be interested. I was told there should be a fuse link I could check at the starter or the battery.

So is a GST a close relative of my 12/12 power reverser in the Deere?
I don't know which models of Deere offer three transmission chioces, I think my 4310 did.
1- Ordinary dry plare clutch and sliding gear type.
2- 12/12 - Power reverser, wet clutch, clutch not needed for reversing in any gear.
3- Hydro

As an EX Dodge Ram driver who spent more money on the brakes of that pickup that all Toyotas and Nissians (2 of each) combined you don't want to get into that contest. Oh, had the Dodge for about half the mileage of any of the others. Something about the smallest Toyota car made that pulled out in front of my big bad 4 wheel drive Dodge Ram which was totalled and the little old lady drove on. Yep true. So I went all Toyota then.

I've recently came across a 82 Kubota B6100 with FEL. Owner says he just replaced clutch press plate & bearing. Does $4500 sound like a good price? Or is this overpriced?

While sitting on the seat, reach down between your legs. That's the normal location for the flow control valve that regulates the speed with which the rear lift lowers. It's made adjustable to cope with implements of differing weights. Obviously, the heavier the implement - the faster it will drop. You regulate that drop with the flow control valve.<br>

Pretty sure that an 05-06 Terraplane is a rebadged DongFeng (DFAM). They're also marketed under the TaskMaster badge, and I believe it may also have been sold as a Branson. Either should hopefully get you pointed in the direction of a reliable parts source.<br>

They are scratching their heads too. I have gotten more information from you (Gatoraider) than them so far. I am still waiting for the verdict on the injectors. I will keep you posted.

How reasonable is it to rent a machine to dig or pull the stumps? If you do not have a lot of stumps or can batch them and rent a backhoe or excavator or hire them removed you will make this size tractor a much better choice. Then the plowing will probably be your next HP hog but depending as Harvey has said on the amount of time you have it is possible.

I agree with Harvey on double how long you think it will take. LOL still have to do that. It might be wise for you to rent a tractor of the size you plan to buy and use it for a week or so and then decide. Very seldom do you hear, my machine is just too large, but it can happen.

new purchase will a l3240 do the job

The block has a crack on the left side, exterior water jacket of the engine. I do not know it some one could drill a hole at both ends of the crack and weld it up.

Jeff, it's possible that the turbo is responsible, but that's about a 17% gain and I doubt it would have that much effect, I'd be thinking more along the lines of half of that.

I suspect it's more likely due to a combination of the turbo and that NH doesn't set the throttle handle on the SSL to give you WOT but more likely at about 80% power for engine longevity.

The formula applies to all 'modern' diesel engines, but the over-riding part of it is "at peak power", It's rare that you'd be running a pickup for instance at WOT for very long.

I tried again today and bingo tons of stuff.

Rather than all the hydrogen, coal, diesel, atomic, etc. maybe just build a big hill at each end of the track. Gravity gets it going on one end and gravity stops it on the other end. Probably too simple for our high tech world.

The 2010 rockshaft can be tricky to repair. Especially if it is a dual rockshaft. The most important part is to removed every plug, valve and piston in the entire assembly. Clean and inspect everything. Blown seals, stuck valves and misadjusted linkage are the usual problems.

Me thinks you missed the part where he said it runs ok, how would it start with a reversed battery?

Lots of machines I've seen have a fuse on the switched side of the starter solenoid. Seems pretty normal to me. If the battery is low, as voltage drops current increases, if the big Rooskie solenoid is on the fritz also I could see it pulling too many amps.

The only part that isn't available with a quick check is the exhaust pipe flange. There are part number changes to the parts you have listed. That often happens when old parts are integrated to fit more models.
Other wise your dealer should be able to help you with your parts when your ready.
It would be wise not to wait until the day you are looking to put the engine back together, special order vs stock orders drive up the shipping and handling costs from most manufacturers.
