I was mowing grass today with a 7-1/2 ft Wide Woods Mower. The PTO seemed to be engaging and disengaging when mowing. When I went to shut-off the tractor, I could not disengage the PTO...I turned off the tractor and about 1 hour later, I tried to start the tractor and it would not start...I pressed on the PTO linkage with a bar to force linkage to disengaged position, but tractor would not start...also, when the PTO was engaged, the PTO lever was not able to completely lower...also, ever since we had the tractor the PTO lever was pretty hard to pull back to disengaged.<br>

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is?<br>

Any threaded holes you could install bolts in and connect up a cherry picker to lift?

We have a NT304C and had the same problem. NAPA can cross reference filters by thread size. WIX also lists filters this way. Northern kept telling us to use a Fram PH8A. The problem was finally fixed when they sent use a new filter adapter that bolts to the side of the engine. Unscrewed the old adapter threaded piece and put the new one in and now the PH8A works. We found an Audi filter with the proper metric treads that would work, before we got the proper fix.

I need to remove the flywheel..... does it require a special JD puller? If so, can anybody tell me the part number please?

Many companies make both a dedicated wheel loader with a bucket and a tool acrrier. Dedicated loaders offer flip-back pallet forks which store flipped back over the bucket. Some buckets have big, flat hooks across the top of the bucket that hold a separate round beam that has forks dangling from it. Normally the bottoms of the forks rest on the bucket's cutting edge. The round beam allows for fork adjustment.

The tool carrier has a removable bucket that can be replaced with many other attachments not unlike a skid steer. This set up more closely resembles, in principle, a CUT with a FEL that has a skid steer mounting plate.

I don't have a kit for a mid PTO, but I "THINK" a hydro drive takes a different kit than a gear drive.
I haven't saw one in use but the new driveover decks sure look good to me. Frank.

I don't know anything about their latest machines, but if they are anything like the garden teractor my Dad had they must be OK.
I still have the Simplicity walk behind garden tractor that my Dad had with a front sicklebar mower, a rear cultivator, and a neat little mouldboard plow that I've lost somewhere.
It went thru a couple Biggs engines and still kept on going. I don't use it anymore but with a new engine It would work again. Frank.

i just bought a gator from a power plant they had 8 up for bids they had been sitting not runing for about a year it is a 6x4 they took the front set of rear wheels off. i bid $ 111.00 on this one i bid on 3 hoping to make at least one . could not hear them run so knew nothing about them . also i think its an 02 or 03 model.this one has 1593 hours on it . i got it loaded with a fork lift and got it off the trailer in 15 min i had it runing . starter was week so replaced it, shocks were shot replaced them new battery . repaired the fenders and put camo on hood and fenders wasnt planing on selling it but have 3 people wanting it it looks great the camo makes it one of a kind will post a pic tomorrow any one have any rear wheels

Two months is a pretty short time for the fuel to crystalize so that seems unlikely. Still, if it's easy to pull the fuel bowl it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a look. On some small engines you could do this in about one minute but not sure about yours.

Yeah, something along those lines. I may just drill a hole in the cover and use a bungee cord to hold it up while hooking up the pto. I'm tired of that stupid thing doing the tomahawk chop on my arms when making the connection.

Murf--one step ahead of ya. Didn't work. The guy just shrugged his shoulders. He's the developer which also means he knows what flies or doesn't in front of a judge when it comes to suits--an' dis' wadn't one of dem. And besides the job is by the hour and it takes an hour---so me just takes me time looking for raised concrete LOL

And don't do the math either--2000 sq ft in an hour. It's on a 10 degree, non-salted slope and ALL the cars have to be moved out one by one and the snow stacked. PIA. Until I started doing it last year it would take them better than 3 hours using an ATV with a plow. Any size truck is too big.

And I can't b-- too loudly because I want to be on his crew when he gets the Ford Rouge Complex snow removal contract that covers 600 acres of roads and parking lots. The only downside is takes 3-6 months to get paid. Can you spare a (millions) dime for fuel to get me through LOL?

Simple solution.

Get the name of his units Padre and send them to [u]him[/u], with a note explaining who it's for and why you sent them to him.

Been there, done that, the t-shirt didn't fit.

Luckily for me though it was the one Yankee at Paris Island that got my goodies, and he didn't like hot spicy food. LOL.

There are certainly differences between the two countries, just as there are between regions within each country. But I think our similarities are pretty striking compared to other adjoining countries. Think of US and Mexico, N & S Korea, China & Russia, etc.

He didn't say so, but a good place for information and parts is Len at Sheaffer Tractors.

It's known that PTO speeds differ in export vs. Japanese-market models, but I didn't know about the gear ratios.
