Just purchased a used Nortrac NT204C. No manuel of course.<br>
Problem with PTO. Will not turn, and hydrolics leak down.<br>
Any suggestions or if you have one I'll purchase a copy of your manuel plus shipping.

First I would like to thank all for the helpfull feedback regarding my front end weight issue. For now I think I will be okay just adding fluid to the front wheels. Today I ran my 5' bushhog for about 40 min. on my farm pro 2425 .<br>

The whole time I was running up and down a aprox. 35-40% grade. The temp was consistent at 80 deg. and there was no lack of power while in 4 wheel drive and running the pto.<br>

The tractor seemed very happy in 3 gear low. One of my pins to the stabizing links fell out and , while I discovered this , I also noticed a fair amount of hydro. fluid had come out of the overflow outlet.<br>

I am new to this tractor and am not sure why this happened. I would appreciate any feedback regarding a possible cause.<br>

Take a look at Tractor Supply the sell replacement seats for way less than the dealers.

Have to agree with EW here, there is a reason. I guess you have never had your rear wheels leave the ground. Been there with big forks on a small tractor, I don't recommend it.

Hi Tylerw, Thanks for the information. I will get a spare sight window. How long have you had your L3400? What year is it? Have you had any other problems with it?
I have a HST with a front loader. My property is hilly so I need the ag tires for traction when wet. They do tend to leave ruts when the ground is a little wet and soft. I believe that the small front AG tires get a little overloaded when working with the front loader.

Chief I was just talking about how that was my dream starting about ten years ago. Now my kids are teen agers, my mom has Alzheimers and my Dad will be 89 the end of the month.

Last July I started looking into finishing my basement so that my Dad and Mom could live with me along with their caregiver. We started construction last October, and we are finally close to being finished, its has been a much longer process than I had hoped. We put in a full kitchen, bath, and laundry room. It looks great, I have a little painting to do, then we'll put the carpet down.

With this project, my ability to relocate has neen eliminated. Which is OK for now, as I find keeping up with the five acres I have is more than enough or soon will be too much.

I may be mistaken but if I recall correctly (and I rarely do) :-) You might try verifying with your NH dealer about replacing this fuse with a circuit breaker. I think this was a change NH made in years past.

Fred, it sounds like you have a long way to go, but I admire your desire. There are actually two cylinders on an HPX and each one has a spark plug. Did you just purchase your Gator, or did you buy it new? Does it run ok after it warms up? These machines are lean from the factory, because of EPA standards. If you couple that with the quality control section,of the air jet manufacturing company that supplies the air jets for the carbs, being non-existant, you end up with a lousey running Gator. Your Gator may call for an .056 air jet and have an .068 air jet that is stamped an .056. That's a big difference in air supply and it makes the idle mixture too lean. Some owners got lucky and have an air jet that is small enough to let their Gator idle ok.I have fixed this condition on a lot of HPXs, but I need the carb and have to put it on a Gator to do it.If your Gator runs ok after it warms up, I doubt if cleaning your carb will fix it. If it runs bad all the time, then a cleaning is in order. Sounds like your problem is just when it's cold, so I believe you have a jet problem.

Sadly Ken not many Congressmen or Senators and for certainly the current adminstration will see that here. Wonder if even those on the agri committees visit such sites? TP ought to be required reading...what a great idea.

That main jet meters all the gas from idle to wide open, so it has to be open and completely open.

Oil certified for diesel engines will be OK for 100 hrs. Ordinary car oil will work but not last as long.

Yes, the manual is costly for use in routine servicing. But one repair that it steps you through will save you money.

I see why you said it is better just to take out the motor. We live and learn. It looks like my flywheel is the culprit. Now I am waiting to order another one. Boy they sure don't give those away do they? $350 from JD.

Technically, the front drive doesn't employ a spindle - that's essentially a 2wd design. If yours is "loose", I'm afraid the odds are pretty good that it's simply worn out. Click on the link below for a representative diagram.

I seem to recall they used the drag link system of steering though. If you're lucky, perhaps it just needs a new knuckle on that side.
