Sorry to hear that, but thanks for warning everyone. The feed is the most problematic area on the Jinma chippers too. I gotta say the $9k I spent on a used 85hp tow behind bandit chipper was some of the best money I've ever spent. It flat out works.

I bought the JD as I had one to trade and they are a pretty reasonable dealership to work with. I don't know much about the NH but the 5101E Limited is somewhat lacking in the ergo department too. The 3ph and rear hydraulic levers are a little far back for comfort. (Read my complete 5101E review of a few weeks ago on this site.) I am otherwise quite happy with the JD after adding 2000# fluid. Undoubtedly NH makes a nice machine too but I'm just not familiar with them. The power shuttle and wet clutch are huge considerations, though, over the life of the tractor if the NH doesn't have them.

That price sounds about right. You might have found a used one for a little cheaper. They pop up from time to time, but you have to be waiting for it. I picked up a used JD 84" snow blade that goes on a skid steer. It is like new for less then half price. I will modify it for my 522 loader. It was a price to good to pass up and welding on the quick connect parts is easy. Just have to keep your eyes on the prize for when a good deal comes up.

Like a BH, a TS has multiple cylinders. But unlike a BH, you operate one at a time, so your internal pump might do the job.

I have a 5203 4WD and find it is a work horse of a machine. They are said to be lite in the rear for their power but I have added Bio ballast to the rear tires. I would suggest you use weight of some sort either ballast or wheel weights. I find I don't need the 4WD unless I am in very slick conditions. Loader is very strong and can lift an amazing amount of weight. More weight then what the ballast counters. The ballast in my tires is around 400+ lbs per tire. I use the 1284 Frontier box scrapper for road work. It is a very heavy scrapper at 1200 lbs. It has no trouble pulling it to the point the ground spills over the top.
:) Over all I am very happy with the machine. It is a nice tractor for the price. Well suited for my needs.

Hi all, I stumbled across this site while researching Kubota tractors on the internet. Wow! This is cool! I reviewed a few of the questions and realized I'd found a Kubota nirvana!<br>

About me: My family and I bought our land (38.5 rural acres in beautiful Eastern Iowa) in 2005 and built our new house in '06 and a pole building in '07. It's our first time living out in the country and we love it! We rent out about 30 acres of crop ground. The rest is yard and timber.<br>

Anyway, on to my question. :) I'm looking to purchase my first tractor. I first thought I'd get an older farm tractor but have ruled that out for various reasons. I've pretty much narrowed it down to Kubota or Deere and am leaning heavily towards Kubota. I really don't have any experience with either and have heard good things about both. I like the fact that Kubota makes the entire product in their tractors. How big do I need and what models would you recommend? I mow approximately 3 acres and have a small zero turn mower from when I lived in town. It's great around trees and buildings but the 44" deck takes quite a while to get it all done so. I'd like to do some finish mowing with it. Mostly flat except for the ditches. I want to move snow with it. I'm in the process of adding approximately 4-5 acres of waterways (hiring that project out!) to control erosion in my fields and will need to mow those 3 or 4 times a year. I'd like a loader on the front for moving rocks, doing fence work, and the general utility of it. I've been looking at low 30's to the low 40's for HP and am looking at newer equipment. Is this around the right size for me? Do I need this bigger? Smaller? Help :(<br>

I don't know anything about your shibaura but here's one possibility. On my JD there's a diverter switch that allows the joystick to operate the loader in one position and the rear cylinders in another. Does your machine have a diverter switch?

Ken, I STRONGLY urge you and ALL TP members to attend an Appleseed Shoot. Family member shoot and participate for FREE. The shooting part is just a SMALL portion of the the shoot. The history briefing is the main attraction and something ALL should hear.

I can PROMISE ALL it will be money WELL spent and a VERY enjoyable as well as INFORMATIVE outing for ALL who attend.

I am looking into sponsoring an Appleseed Shoot on my property. I think an Appleseed Shoot will be a awakening for all who attend. Wether you decide to become a "3 Percenter" or not is yet another story.......as are with the important things in life........"one step at a time".

I have the same problem with my 2005 TC40. It started doing this with only 50 hours on it. The starter just clicks like the solenoid is kicking in when you turn the key. Turn key 5-6 times and it will start if it didnt kick out the breaker first. If any of the safety switches were bad,disconnected or out of adjustment the starter would not click at all. I have taken it to two different New Holland dealers and still have the same problem. They replaced the starter twice and that did not fix it. Both dealer service reps told me they didn't know what the problem was. Thats what I am left with. I see other posts on the net with the same problem with no resolution. Any help appreciated. Larry

Initially abolition of the electoral college rubbed me the wrong way too. But one advantage of getting rid of it would be that it would make it more difficult for politicians to game the system for their advantage. Witness the current administrations attempt to seize control of the census.

Regarding term limits, both sides have their points, but I have concluded that career politicians for the most part simply don't put the country first. We need people that are in awe of their responsibility and in touch with their constituents back home.
