From a purely engineering point of view, I'd say it would be tough to even fabricate the plow and mounting frame.

Since the plow needs to be mounted beneath the JD frame, the plow frame would have to be very wide and go around both sides of the front wheel, leaving enough room for the wheel to turn to steering lock each way.

That wouldn't leave much room for the plow blade to swivel.

After that, I'd say you would likely find serious traction issues. The idea of 4 rear wheels is to spread out the weight and reduce tire loading, snow plowing requires a more traction, not less.

Ken, have you given any thought to doing a large portion of it yourself?

They sell dehydrators commercially that range from <$100 for 'consumer' models up to nearly the sky's the limit.

I have a friend who makes a LOT of jerky out of venison and other wild game, as well as making huge amounts of dried fruits as snack foods, and dried vegetables for cooking with later on.

I must say, I've had soup he made from 100% dehydrated foods, it tasted absolutely delicious, I wouldn't have known if he hadn't said so.

He dries the products then stores them in preserve (Mason) jars, some containing desiccant pouches, some not depend on the product.

It is extremely cost effective, especially if you do, as he does, and buy quantities of products when they are 'in season' and lower cost.

A tractor, by the very nature of it, is designed, and primarily used for, heavy draft work, that is, pulling heavy loads.

From this point of view a tractor has a lot in common with an airplane.

For this it needs to be very efficient at converting the energy into mechanical power, and with the least amount of weight necessary to do the job.

Unfortunately, tractors, just like airplanes, are VERY difficult to convert to electric power. With today's battery technology there just isn't a battery capable of producing enough power, for a long enough period, that weighs the same or less than a comparable internal combustion engine.

When you add tracks to the tractor, even only part-time like yours, it just makes it that much more difficult.

Every pound you add means that much more parasitic losses.

I've had this happen on my woods 750. A little cam slipped on the level and all the sudden the dipper was moving in to opposite directions. Check out the Woods site, they have all of the diagrams posted in a PDF. The lever set-up may be close to yours. My problem was a loose locknut on the bottom of the lever.

no the rebar has to be clean. if it has rust or dirt stuck to it the concrete won't stick. When we have rebar sit we always clean it off. If it has lot of rust and dirt build upwe haveeven gone to thelenght of sandblasting. If this for a garage floor than a 5 or six inck slab would be lots. unless your parking somthing the size of JD 9030 in it. Like I said I have my truck parked on my concrete since '99. No problems. When I had my truck weighed it was 3,100kg (6,820lbs) 10 years no cracks. The problem with roads ios that they are exposed to weather. Even a hailine crack will cause problems. Water gets into the crack and freezes over winter. It expands and makes the crack bigger. More water, more freezing, bigger yet. Soon it is pothole. Inside a garge this shouldn't be a problem.

My garage has a smooth finish, not broomed. In some light it looks almost polished. If you put a sealer over top it will last longer than you or me. sealer will keep the water from penetrating from the top. So when you park you machine after clearing snow the melt water can be pushed back out.

Because the previous owner did his own wiring job I don't know if I can help you or not. To shut your Gator off you have to ground the white wire coming out of the magneto run relay. That wire is the white wire that is in the plug that goes into the ignition switch.( at least it was when it was built) The black wire coming out of the ignition switch is the ground. When the switch is turned off it connects the black ground wire and the white wire internally and grounds the magneto run relay and shuts the motor off. So I would start with running a wire from the black wire coming out of the switch to ground and see if that works. If that doesn't do it you will have to see if the white wire coming out of the switch goes all the way to the run relay. The relay should have the white wire( actually 2 whites going into 1 connector), a purple and white, and 2 blacks jumpered to 1 more black. As I say, you have to ground the white wire to shut it off.

TractorData.com lists the MT372 as having a Cat0,1 3-point hitch.

Cat1 implements use a 7/8" diameter lower lift pin.
Cat0 implements use a 5/8" diameter lower lift pin.

If the MT372 has 7/8" diameter lower lift pins, you'll probably only have to remove and reinstall the lift pins on the implement -- by installing them so they face toward each other -- in order to attach a Cat 1 implement.

There is no path for oil to be at the front of an HPX. Are you losing oil from the motor? See if anything is wet around the motor. Check your coolant for oil. Check overflow tank level, see if oil is present. Could possibly be the front differential also. That would be the most likely thing up front that has something that looks like oil in it.

My B6200 has a mid PTO and that is what powers the belly mower. I guess another way to ask, did the frames change from the early 80s to the mid 90s?

I may have to make a template to verify.

There are differences in the units at Sears vs the Cadets and the 3206 is a true garden tractor and they have been up a good unit. The other other unit mentioned is a lawn tractor no matter how you spell it.

Used to sell Husky's, Cadets are better made and gave them up as we were tired of fixing them. No major one thing breaking just everything except the engines.

I didn't get a worm, but I did have something odd happen to me using Craigslist.

April 1 & 2 I got about 300 online resumes and emails from people applying for a non-existent job someone else put up in my name. The ad said I would pay them $14.50 an hour, pick them up and drop them off, pay for their meals, must have a strong back and a sense of humor, and be creative.

The ad encouraged everyone applying to be funny and creative in their introduction line to get my attention. I called a few people back last night and told them the news asking them to flag the ad to get it removed.

Whoever placed the ad, should be in marketing as they could sell ice to an eskimo.

Milk goat = �7 lb/d milk, holstein = �70 lb/d. The physical effort to milk each at least 2x daily is approximately the same as are the physical resources for a milking parlor (possibly slightly larger for a cow parlor). Assume the feed fed per lb milk produced is a wash (in actuality cows are more efficient converters of feed to milk), you would need significant additional revenue from the goat milk to make it worthwhile to milk goats. If everyone suddenly got into goat milk production you would expect the prices for your milk to plummet as demand was rapidly exceed by supply and goat milk would be a very price inelastic product.

I suspect the hung-up brakes is indeed the culprit.

The insides of tractors tend to seize up when they are not run regularly. The oil in the transmission/differential gets splashed all over when the tractor is being used, that lubricates all the shafts that pass through the casing.

Try working the brake lever back and forth after oiling it from the outside and make sure it moves both freely and fully.

Now Kenny, your Southern roots are showing again friend.

When I say 'frozen lake' I mean FROZEN. We get 24" - 36" of ice on that lake, you couldn't melt through it in a month of Sundays.

The problem was two-fold, they were out late in the season after a warm spell, so the ice was beginning to go out. They were also in an area of small islands, which causes funny patterns in the currents. A pressure ridge had caused a crack to open and they drove into the opening before they could see it.

The contractors around here have old trucks modified for running the frozen lakes.

They have two long heavy beams welded along side like skis that will hold the truck up if it falls through. They also remove the regular doors and seat belts and put plastic vapour barrier on wire frames on in place of the doors. The theory is you can't belt yourself in, the truck can't drop all the way in, and the door barely stops the wind never mind someone in hurry to get out. LOL

It's a tragedy, no doubt, a good man lost his good wife and only child (daughter) right in front of his eyes. According to one of the neighbours who were close to them, the man is just a basket case. Blame? Maybe, but this was IMHO probably the closest you can get to the definition of an "accident".
