Murf and Kenny: When I was down yonder, I was in sign shop when in walks a local who was also a Pakistani hotel owner. Now, here in the hinterland some of my customers are Pakistani/Indian and Arabic so I'm used to understanding their tongue quite (or in Kenny-speak: quiet) well. Keep in mind we were where redneckdom was born---this guy starts talking in thick a Pakistani dialect with a slow, redneck drawl---I about ROGLMAO!

hi ,just to say we ave problems with cold start problems,and we just get a hair dryer,take of the manifold pipe, and in sert the warm air in to the manifold and turn the engine over and its starts straight away.... worth you aveing a go ??? saves us chargeing the battery up and burning the wires up !!!!

You are correct on both counts, since Switzerland has a very small relative population, and almost no 'standing army' every male citizen between the age of 18 and 65 is a de facto member of the militia and is therefore required to maintain an assault rifle and ammunition in their home in case of emergency.

Probably one of the reasons nobody has ever wanted to try a 'blitzkrieg' style assault on them. Between the terrain and knowing that EVERY house has at least one trained marksman with a .223 rifle and ammo at hand would be a nightmare for anybody.

It must deter crime just as well.

Totally sensible, but these that have had nothing posted in over a year keep popping up. They have to come from web searches for they or the ones I remember are from people new to TP. One of the reasons it bugs me, makes me wonder how many think others must think I am a goof and never post here again. I know have made much worse goof's of EW has a long list of them. Sure am glad to be of value to him. Keeps me going.

Kenny, don't forget though, gravity is our friend. LOL

If you run a good-sized pick up tube from near the bottom of the tank, up and over the top and back down to the ground and into the pump, the pump won't really know how far the fuel is traveling before getting to the pump, and gravity will cause the fuel to siphon down to the pump.

In effect the pump will not really be lifting any fuel at all.

I purchased an alternator for my 6x4 gator (FD620D Kaw Engine) but there are no installation instructions (even though the guy that I bought it from said they were in the box). Anybody got these instructions and would be willing to share?? :-)

Ok here is my problem. The passenger side seal on the 4x4 differential is leaking fluid. so i was wondering if anyone has had the 4x4 axle shaft out, and if there is a retaining ring or if the shaft just slides out. any help would be apperciated.<br>

They are real solid and reliable basic no frills ag tractors that are pretty fuel efficient. I suggest getting 4WD if you plan on adding a FEL.

i do know a guy that got one with a side mower for $2500. and i new one in 1946 was around $517. so i would say if in good condition with plow(jd i hpoe) would go for $2000-$4500. i hope this helps

this may be a dumb question but are you sure that its the clutch? does the engine pull down when you are trying to pull the mower? these are great little tractors and very tech friendy. if you do split this tractor i would put some blocks between the front axle and the frame to keep the front end from rolling and makes it so much easier to go back together.

Finished:
Job done. Got it running today and am very pleased with how clean it burns. It was quite a nice job, things came apart easy - it is a simple little engine. Of course the thing was apart not too long ago. The prior owner did the rings and how it was done was the issue. Cylinders not deglazed, no rings in lower groove, no spring ring in upper oil groove on rear piston.

Oh, while apart I cut off the downward extension of the exhaust pipe from the muffler and re welded it upward to put the exhaust pipe up. This will keep exhaust gas away from the 3pth area and make it bearable for log splitter use.

I hope this helps other readers of this forum in some small way.
