Murf, a few years ago I pulled a dozen squirrels out of the attic using live traps. Two adults (momma and poppa) and ten babies. I found where those were coming from and plugged the holes with copper wool.

Now the bats... Years ago they were roosting in a small gap between the gutter and fascia boards. I chased them out with a hose, cleaned up the mess, stuffed copper wool to block them off, and erected a 24 foot high bat house a hundred feet from the main house. Five years later, the bat house is empty and bats are in the attic. We have lights in all areas of the attic so I turned them all on, but the bats didn't blink. So I'm calling a pro. Apparently they have these little gizmos that will home in on their radar at dusk so they can find out where they are coming and going. This will be interesting to watch.

First off, welcome!!

Secondly, been there, done that. The short version of the story is "you can't get there from here". I.E. the front PTO is not the right speed or direction of rotation from memory.

You can however very easily put a 20'ish hp engine on it and belt drive it from that. The other advantage of doing this is that you have an unlimited (only by FEL reach) height of the blower. For things like cleaning up drifts or knocking down banks it's really handy.

We have a GL3240 with FEL and BH75 hoe. When the hoe is removed and the 3-point installed, the trailing arms of the hitch rub the sub-frame of the BH. The tilt adjustment for the 3-point is almost impossible to operate.<br>

I have both. The single-stage works for light powder, but heavy or wet snow will at best barely make it out of the chute, at worst continuously clog.

BA, you are talking about two VERY different animals here.

A trail, even one that will get the occasional truck or tractor running it, will not need any sort of base, or anything but grass on top, in fact topsoil & grass is probably about the best choice you could make for keeping it in good shape.

A driveway however, even if only designed for light cars will need some substantial prep work, including a properly drained base and suitable aggregate on top to hold the surface.

I stand by my early remarks. Get a guy who knows what he's doing with a small dozer to build your trails. If, in the future, you decide to convert some of it into a proper driveway, it will be far easier to do with the route already cleaned and leveled as a trail.

All you need for maintaining a trail system is a good box blade with a hydraulic top link on the back of a 4X4 tractor.

There were different groups of the Cub/Mitsubishi series. Models 7205,7235,7265,7275 and 7305 and possibly more. (7000 was the series) while (23) in your case is 23 HP and the (0005) meant hydro while (0000) were gear. I'm sure Art White would sell you the component you need. In addition to model you should also give him the serial number to be sure.

In my opinion, it is worth spending the $150.00 and getting the proper part. My time is too valuable to be spending looking for shortcuts. But if you can easily get the same part for less, go for it!

I have the 7275 which is a 1994 or 1995 model. Mine has about 820 hrs. on it which is low hours for its age, but has been an excellent machine with only minor problems.

I found a generic picture of a the inner workings of a manual transmission. This one happens to be used in Chevy trucks, but most manual transmissions are generally built using the same principles.

Please note that parts 87-121 are all contained in the upper cover assembly. The entire top right assembly comes out in one piece. The forks can then be removed from the cover assembly on the workbench, and then be re-attached to the transmission. The forks simply slip over the shift collars on the main shaft during re-assembly.

I doubt that your transmission is much different than this one, other than the fact that you don't have the externally mounted 5th gear assembly.

Update:
Culprit found. While moving the upper oil control ring to the lower groove discovered that one of the three rings used in the oil control groove was gone. The oil control ring is really 3 rings in one groove, 2 wipers and one spring ring behind the 2 wipers it pushes the wiper rings into contact with the cylinder wall. This was the rear cylinder and the one smoking most.

The two cylinders cleaned up good and the deglazing worked well. Pick up rings and gaskets wed and install by the weekend.

Earth: Surprised about the scowl. Maybe just jealous of your truck. Or wondering if you were going to be working with it. Flashing yellow marker roof lights are permitted in Canada but red is restricted to authorized emergency vehicles and blue to snowplows.

Hard: You heard right but it's complex. Our night-vision retinal photoreceptors (rod-shaped under a microscope) are least sensitive to the red end of the color spectrum, most sensitive to the blue end. (They don't perceive any specific colors as such and would perceive blue as grey.) But if your headlights are on the road, there'd be too much light for dark adaption, meaning you aren't using your rods but your day-vision cells or cones, which are most sensitive to yellow-green. But those relative sensitivities assume equal intensity, and there isn't. When dark adapted you'd see blue best. But puting a blue cover over a white light reduces the intensity so much that you'd see the uncovered white better. (Based on an early and partial understanding of the eye, airport night runway markers are blue. But now they're considered another "display stereotype" because they'd be better seen if left white.)

Yes, when fully dark adapted, a maroon object would be invisible. Although blue is easiest seen at night, if you had a red and a blue truck, which would you see better? Well, blue has low intensity, and red can be quite bright or intense (and more reflective), so it would be a washout.

These misunderstandings are common. Some vehicles have instrument displays that are red, for better night vision. If you were that dark-adapted you couldn't read them, as rods don't perceive form but only motion. (The best is yellow-green, set at minimum reading intensity.)
