I'm going to run a log splitter; 4 inch X 24 inch stroke/ 2 " ram. I'm still just pondering my options; My kubota tool circuit is only putting out 800 LBS. of pressure. it lifts implements fine and holds them up for days on end but when I plumb a Guage in line when the splitter hits a big log the pressure reads 800 LBS, otherwise it splits anything under 14" diameter. I guess my HYD. pump on the Kubota is going bsd. I screwed in a set screw under the driver seat in what appears to be the hyd. output circuit but it didn't help. Kubota doesn't sell a rebuild kit for the pump that I can find and a new pump would cost $420, hence my search for a cheap alternative.

Thanks! I did manage to negotiate the maze and found the PDF that had all of the tire/rim information. I determined that for my model of tractor I need the 634-3101 part (23 x 6.00 x 12).

I went to the CC order page and entered the part number and up popped "634-3101: WHL ASM:12.0 X 5.0", note the 12.0x5.0. So, clearly there is a mis-match somewhere between the catalog and the ordering system. The price is very good, $68.08 each, so no worries there.

I guess I will need to call them and confirm that it really is a 6x12 and not a 5x12, because I sure do not want to pay shipping to Hawai'i for the wrong part.

There's no set rule, in fact, there's enough variance that some good starters actually draw more unloaded, than other ones do loaded. Never mind when they go south.

The easiest way in my experience is to watch the voltage, not the amps. When you crank an engine with a good battery (not boosted, just it's own fully-charged battery) for 15 seconds, the voltage should drop no more than to about 10 volts while cranking, and almost immediately come back to 12.5 volts.

If the voltage while cranking drops below 10 volts, or takes more than about 5 seconds to come back, or does not come fully back, the starter is drawing too much.

If there is a good starter/alternator rebuilder near you, most reasonable size towns have one, just take it in and ask then to "bench test" it for you. It's only a couple of bucks usually. Let the pro's tell you if it's good or not.

New or rebuilt depends on what is the matter with it. Prices have changed in the past few years to, there's lots of big reman outfits now. With some of our turf equipment, particularly the stuff with Kubota or Kohler engines, a re-manufactured exchange starter is cheaper than the typical repair or overhaul used to be.

The seller emailed me, and described the color wires to which prongs. He asked if I had a plug, and I now realize there once was a plug holding all these wires in a bundle. That would have kept this confusion to a minimum.
I have a tech manual on its way, so maybe It'll have schem's for the wires.

Ken and Murph, thanks for the reply. I was searching the internet after posting this and that was all I could come up with too, that using the wrong bulbs could shorten the life of the ballast or bulb. It just seemed puzzling to me that the same manufacturer would go from either/or to just plain T-12's. As I said, it was just by chance I noticed they now called for only T-12's. The design of the fixture has changed somewhat so, as you said Ken, someone else may be making the fixtures for them. From what I've read though, T-8's are replacing the T-12's. Also, like you said Murph, the fixtures (In this case) only cost $8+ dollars so they are throw aways. Thanks again for the input, Steve.

I don't know a lot about the JD line, but is a 2010 tractor the same engine as a 2010 crawler with a gas engine?

If so then the engine firing order is 1-3-4-2 & looking down at the distributor cap from above the rotor turns in a counter-clockwise rotation.

There are some experts who say much of the money leaving the stock market was over this fear and moving to where it would be safe. If that is true that will mean less money to be taxed and also less for business. Neither helps the economy.

I think it was before Obama was a name I even knew there was a thread here on some of this very topic on steps to protect our family.

No doubt we must be alert and involved. Wonder what will happen when Obama is not able or willing to do what was either promised or preceive owed to some support group?

IMHO, might be purely coincidence. Being that low, really isn't that much in the scheme of things. You can lose that much fluid level just sitting on uneven ground. For something hydraulic to be consistently or predictably slow without being jerky or sluggish usually means a bad pump when all other things are ruled out. However, jerky motion usually indicates fluid starvation and aeration of the system--which will quickly lead to a bad pump.

owning a 790 my self and growing up on a farm when i was a teenager I KNOW THE 790 would not be up to the task !!
1. the lifting capacity is insufficient.unless the moisture content is at 2% (dust)
2. the wheel base is to short and narrow with ag tires i have r4's
3. the BRAKES nor engine compression is sufficient for any road travel and you never get done in low range (unsafe)

how ever the 990 would be the safe bet

the B7800 is being replaced this coming year and will be a B3200. The 3030 will stay in the line-up as is. The atachments for both loader and hoe are the same so you are down to the tractors feel to you.
