If you can rotate the rake or blade you get somewhat the same results by changing the lenght of the third arm. kt

I have recently aquired a Japanese Shibaura SD1840 and unfortunately don't know a lick of Japanese. I know, what was i thinking??? lets just say the price was right! If anyone has translations for all the controls they can forward me I would greatly appreciate it! I would also appreciate any pointers related to parts!<br>

Diesel engines by the principal on which they operate are just noisyer than a gasoline engine. Unless it is extremely more noisy than your other tractor and all the gauges are in the normal operating range then likely it is just the nature of the beast. Some diesels are just make more noise than others, plus any diesel engine will make more noise on a cold startup in the winter till they warm up. I can't help you with the year of your tractor, I'm just not that famillar with them. Frank.

Operate the compression-release to let the starter spin easier, and as soon as it spins you let the compression back on and leave it there. Make sure the throttle is set to provide at least idle-speed fuel.

I have no doubt that you guys have a problem with your Gators, but I've asked around to fiends who have them and no body has heard of such a problem here. The friends are farmers like me so their Gators like mine don't lead an easy life, they earn their keep. Just to satisfy my curiosity I took mine out on the hiway so I could hear better, drove it in high range, low range, 4 wheel, two wheel, frontwards, backward, no noise. I really hope you get to the root of the problem, but no way would I let go of the Gator if I couldn't get another one.

OK from my previous post of a couple of weeks ago, diesel in CT has indeed dropped. I just filled up my diesel caddy (30 gallons) at $4.29/ gallon) a drop from $4.87/ gallon. Now if this trend continues this would be great. Maybe I can drive my pickup once again!

I hear ya. Personally, I hate remotes. If they're optional that's one thing but when they become mandatory they're a real PIA. Especially the stupid panic button that always gets activated accidentally. I glued a piece over the button on my truck remote for that reason.

Our 05 Highlander has door locks everywhere.

The 08 Impreza has one in the drivers door and hatch but not in the passenger door. That's not a huge deal but indicative of scraping the bottom of the cost cutting barrel. But the rest of the car seems to be very good quality, certainly better than our two Toyotas.

The state of Iowa does do random testing of fuel and the accuracy of pumps, I'm sure every state does that. Just in the last month an owner of two stations was shut down and fined 40K per station for selling 30% ethanol when the punmp said 10%. I agree the physics of the product are the true answer. I use ethanol simply because I grow the corn. Frank.

Also, this is the first 2 cyl. deisal that I've owned. Are they all really noisy? When idling it sounds like it is knocking. My YE Yanmar 2 cyl. sounds the same way.

No experience with a Yanmar or JD for that matter. But first are you sure the horn and lights themself are good? If they are then test for ground and power to them. If the push button is one you must hold in, my guess would be horn or glow plugs. Is the previous owner where you could ask on the switch? I would suspect there is a relay in horn or turn signal light circuit. If no relay in the turn signal there certainly is a flasher. kt

EW, maybe they own a share of the business thus they have the right.

If this is a good as the resturant wants you probably should find another one. Life is too short not to be able to enjoy it. Now if you want to mess with their mind (but not EW), go back and go to each one and tell them how sorry you were and out of line. You realize it was not proper to ask them to respect other humans and offer to pay for their coffee or such. Then runnnnnnn and do not run in circles either. :) Better to get a cell phone jammer if not illegal or too costly. Most sensible thing, find a decent resturant and let all know why you changed. You are correct, they could look for a way to pay you back. Take Care my little NASCAR tractor driver. kt

thanks, i ended up removing the head and taking it in to have it serviced and pull the injectors at the same time.
Now I'm fighting to get the pistons unsiezed .... :-(

Try checking Tractor Smart. They have a section for manuals and if they don't have it there, try giving them a call, they may be able to email you one.

I can post you then.

Basically from the factory, your battery juice goes to the ignition switch, then through a number of safety switches before getting to the starter. Because of all this, a voltage drop ocurrs which is too low to turn the starter. That was a big problem with combines in the 50's.

With the attached fix. Power goes through all the safety switches and then into a relay that gets voltage directly from the battery going a short distance to the starter and you get a solid 12 volts.

My dad and I never new what to do with the JD55 combine except to keep towing it, to start it, and bitch about the Hercules engine.

And what to do with the used hyd fluid? Works fine as a rust deterrant when sprayed on the underside of vehicles.
