Can someone tell me how to figure out what year of tractor I have.
Also, this is the first 2 cyl. deisal that I've owned. Are they all really noisy? When idling it sounds like it is knocking. My YE Yanmar 2 cyl. sounds the same way.

Any diesel engine that utilizes a pre-combustion chamber will have a "knocking" sound. The direct injection engines will be quieter.
If you posted more info about your tractor maybe someone can help. ....
