Murf, it has been a while since I sold property insurance but can not remember the question on who owns a proprane tank being asked. It could be new, it could be more of an issue where proprane is more common than here. Big tanks are not very common here as most heat here is electric heat pumps.

Will quickly agree if the tank were to fail you would prefer it to be rented. The damage possible could cause could be more than your property even if the tank itself did not explod as WW questioned. WW, was your tank hit or something else? It would seem if the tank was leaking and on fire you could not turn it off.

You would be surprised at some claims due to such. Had a Claims VP teach a class a few years ago and she used examples of claims in her teaching. Some were so funny. kt

As a kit it might not be availale anymore but if you could get the base manifold that bolts to the tractor though parts you could build your own system.

I can't think of any companies that after two model replacements would still be offering the kits for the older units. You might get lucky and find one left over some where, but don't count on it!

John, I often say anything is possible today, and if not give someone an hour!

To do what you are looking to do would be a big job and more then likely a dissappointment when done.

The small chassis of the sub-compacts are short in frame length do to the wheel base and often to narrow to begin with for the chassis of the 950.

You state that it is only for occasional work, that would help for it to last longer but there is about 800lbs of capacity difference between the two!

I'd look for something that might be a closer match if you do have the abilites that Murf brought up!

BA, for my two cents worth, put in a 'standard' septic system geared to take a pair of full bathrooms and a powder room (or your shower) too.

It's a bunch easier to add in an extra pottie or two than it is to replace a too small septic tank and field. In our area it's officially okie-dokey to put in a larger tank than is needed but only the size of tile field required for the existing plumbing fixtures. If you add in more bathrooms later all you have to do is have them come back and add onto the existing tile field.

Spend a little more now, you'll save a bunch later.

Bedsides, if you ever decide to sell that place somebody else is going to want the extra capacity.

Please check to see if your tractor has a ROPS (Roll Over Protection Structure), a seatbelt, flashing lights -- and a SMV (Slow Moving Vehicle) sign, or at least a place to mount one.

If your tractor doesn't have ALL of these things, it's more than likely an UNAUTHORIZED import....otherwise known as a "grey market" tractor.

Grey market tractors are frequently imported for sale here in the U.S. They are not supported by any factory, and there are usually no manuals available in English. Parts are hard to come by.....sometimes impossible to get.

We have many people come here looking for filters, lubrication data, tires, parts, manuals, etc. When it comes to Shibaura tractors, the responses are few and far between.

I highly suggest you find a factory supported tractor. This is not to say that your particular Shibaura isn't. Just make sure you can get parts, manuals, and a service technician to talk to, if needed, prior to making any tractor purchase.

so you've had the tractor for a while. How does it run, do you use it with a brushhog or tiller? if so does it handle them good and what size are they? I see your from mo, what part. have a good day

My 1510D has the same problem. It came on gradually. I was having to use the preheat even during hot weather. When running, it ran strong. Then one day it wouldn't start no matter what. It's getting fuel, turning over fast enough, preheater is working. I sprayed WD 40 in the intake and not a hint of combustion.

I fixed up mine this last week. Last winter played heck on my drive and I used up alot of my stock pile. I am thinking about have a tandom or two come myself and build up my stock for future! It never spoils ya know!

The peerless transaxle should take 1200 ft.lbs of torque.It will also handle 1800 lbs. of weight per axle.I think the outer bearing was the culprit,when it went out it put the axle in a bind.The Ventrac uses 35 mm axles so when I it get back together,I dont think I will baby it.The axle really didnt break,but it sure got chewed up.

The lower arms on these machines are never straight from the factory, they always have a bend profile of some sort. It's probably not safe to assume a change to the original bend profile resulted in a weaker part. I would have thought a cheaper fix would be to space the wheels out a bit.

Right at this moment the Gator is in a shed at the farm, but I'm not at the farm so I can't go out and check the tire size. I do remember that when we bought the XUV in May of 07 that the dealer did recommend an optional tire that we did buy, I have no idea of the size, but it must be OK as I can't think of anytime it was a problem. Frank.

Kenneth, not much of our work is actual logging. The vast majority of it is doing 'line work' in sensitive areas for utility companies.

We have had two crews each consisting of a single horse and handler in the really ritzy lake country just north of here placing and replacing utility poles for several summers in a row now. Everybody wants electricity and telephone service, but nobody wants the pole lines built or maintained. When we go in there are no angry neighbours, instead they bring the kids out to watch.

We even did one job on a large island where the horse swam out to it while the handler paddled alongside in a canoe! Way cheaper and less stressful for the animal than a powered barge ride.

Sing? No, but the 'cowboy' drives the truck horse rides off into the sunset.

Never given one a kiss or a hug either, but I've received more than one kick, and several (usually playful) bites.

Likely not all the oil drained out. The remaining oil means the axle was full without having to put the full 9 quarts back in.
