Need right side pinion shaft for my 1720D. part #194510-33410. I have run out of places to look. HELP, PLEASE!!<br>
This shaft goes from pinion to wet brakes right side. It is about 8.25 inches long. Please e-mail if you can help.

Woodie; Here in Eastern Iowa I paid about 215.-240. for a tandem (15-17 ton) delivered 16 miles and spread last spring, I haven't checked yet this spring on the current cost. Frank.

First off, there's no need to drain the tank. A good flashlight in the filler cap (especially at night since the daylight makes it hard to see) will light up any water drops or debris in the tank. If there is water, use a water absorbing gadget they sell for snowmobiles in the tank. It is a small plastic mesh tube filled with special crystals that absorbs water not fuel.

Secondly, the fuel / water separator is usually a clear cup looking arrangement on the side of the engine block. Depending on your model there may be a draincock on the bottom, or it may screw off. In either case, since fuel & water don't mix any water in the bottom will be clearly visible.

In any case the drums are steel (std 55 gal oil drum). OK so the take home point is - get as much out as possible and then forget about the rest. Thanks all for the tip and the discussion.

We used to have lots of salmon on the East Side of Michigan in Lake Huron. Zebra mussels invaided from Ocean freighters. The mussels screwed up the food chain and ruined another of Michigan's sources of revenue. The DNR planted too many Walleye and they ate up the smelt and perch. The Walleye spawn in the mid-Michigan rivers that are contaminated by many industries. Fishing has kinda gone the wayside here too.

Many JDs have the option of a vertical exhaust stack. Not sure if a retrofit is available for the 990 though. Installation usually involves cutting a hole in a body panel.

I agree, a rear blade is not my first choice either for snow clearing, but a lot of people use it. Different strokes....

Well I got the high performance muffler, the new heavy duty brushguard and the adventure light kit installed last week and it really changed the look of my machine, not to mention the sound. I am up to 34 hours now and don't regret buying this unit at all.

FYI the alloy wheels are now an option from the factory and will be available for purchase through parts at the end of this month.

Harvey has you going the right direction with the linkage rebuild. I'm sure that ford/NH will have everything you need but likely pretty pricey. I've did this before not with Ford, but a Case 1070 and it seemed that unless you started at the steering box then progressed thru every linkage componet including the bushings in the spindles below the tie rods that you just never got the shimmy all out of it. I'd suggest pricing the componets at Ford and an aftermarket parts outlet before you have at it, maybe you can just go slower and not disturb it unless it becomes a safety factor. Frank.

You're very welcome. And just for future reference, I found the spec that demanded the spirit level for those fingers. In sets of threes, there should be no more than 0.15mm deviation among finger height.<br>

The other thing might be a temporary noise from the throwout bearing. I used a bearing packer on the last one I did, and apparently over-packed the bearing. It squealed briefly for the first dozen or so times I used the clutch. But as soon as it warmed up and slung out the excess grease, the noise went away permanently. If you hand-packed yours, it's probably a non-issue.<br>

We own 4 acres and I just bought a brandnew BX2350. Love the machine!! I run the 60"MMM, FEL, Befco Box Blade and the Landpride rototiller. The tractor is awesome. You turn the key and just hearing it crank and turn over is music. I'm mowing for my second time tomorrow evening and can't wait! It poured this weekend, and the grass is real high. You know you've got a real tractor (albeit smallest of this crew) with that 3 cylinder diesel. I've only cut once, and some of it was pretty thick(our grass is scrappy NC pasture grass), and the engine didn't bog down at all.
I'm running the engine only around 2400rpm during this first bit of breakin period. I'm fixin' to get a four foot bushhog for our back acre (which is a rear paddock that's just unruly pasture/grass) and I've checked the area and have no concern about ground clearance. And I'm going to be digging some fill out the backside of the property and don't have worries about that area either. Folks with really wild land and stumps/trees will tell you that the BX just doesn't have the clearance of the 7800 and larger compacts, and then up into the regular tractors...but that's natural I guess; I mean the BX was made for a specific market and it kicks butt in that market. I didn't testdrive the JD 2305 or MF2300 when looking-- more casually looked at them-- sort knew I wanted orange, basically since I was a kid, so that's what I got. I haven't pulled logs but I'm betting if the logs weren't ridiculously large, the BX would do it no problem. Mine was delivered with the 4WD engaged, but I haven't used it at all yet. The traction is very good. I will use 4-low with serious fill/dirt digging. The FEL is awesome. I've used it to haul woodpile stuff and to knock down a small stump when a tree in the front yard went down in one of our rain/wind storms. I think that BX price you show looks pretty good. My dealer priced in the boxblade and tiller for about 2K above what you were quoted so that's pretty close.

Go with Kubota for sure, and specifically I'd highly recommend the 2350 in your acreage. It's awesome. My neighbor has two JD lawn/garden tractors and a Farmall and remarked that my little Kubota would probably do more than his three tractors combined... and I think he's right.

If your 2520 is like my 4115...and I think it is..... it has some spacers on the mounting bars for the 3 point hitch.

If you move the spacer you can alter the spread of the arms a bit.

For comparison . We just sold a 2005 Kubota BX23TLB with 60" mid mount mower for $14800.00. This was in Mint Condition with 190hours on it. Looked like it had 20hrs on it. It was Tractor, Loader, Backhoe, 2 work lights, 3 welded hooks on front loader bucket, 1 welded hook on backhoe bucket, block heater and the New Improved BX Seat.

What happens when he tries?

If it's just a common starting problem, as suggested above, you're buying a mower and getting a tractor free. If it's because the engine's pooched, first find out who you can get to rebuild it.

LRA; Please fix the tractor before you get hurt. I'm quite sure they have a dry disc clutch plate which has likely gotten stuck to the transmission spline shaft and won't slide. This isn't a real high dollar repair if norhing else is damaged. I'm sure you are headed for some real high dollar repairs if you keep forcing the transmission in gear as you are now, not to mention the safety issue involved. Frank.
