i have a 1610d and i need a tiller. i have found a 5 ft
yanmar for $600.would this be to much tiller for my tractor?

It's too much to go deep into hard stuff, otherwise you can compensate by going slow. Make sure it has sturdy tines designed for soil and not the rice-paddy kind. ....

Compared with ours, paddy tines are usually longer, more delicate, and compound-curved. They look sort of like little water-wheels, designed to spin above our standard 540 to plant and to froth the water and mud. (That's why tractors designed for use over there have so many PTO speeds.) Most American tines are symmetrical (you can sometimes reverse them), paddy tines directional.
It won't be a paddy tiller if it was made in North America or if it was imported within the past decade or so.

I'm not saying a paddy tiller won't till your garden soil, but that you should know it was designed for a different application. ....
