Oops. False alarm.I had a tight connection on the battery but the terminal was corroded on the inside. My son said to clean the connection, we did and it started right up.

I have noticed the local city police has this on their cable channel in their public service part recently. Then over the weekend two 17 years olds were arrested for attempting to steal some heavy equipment.

At same time a lady who lives about 3 miles from me was cutting her grass this past Friday or Saturday with a riding lawn mower. Went in the house leaving lawn mower in yard and saw two people trying to steal it. Not sure what stopped them. Her yard is in plain view of major highway and is totally incircled by roads with fencing around all but the driveway. Only one way in and out. kt

I have a 35hp Terraplane tractor. It has been a good repliable tractor, but now finding out the downside to offbrand chinese tractors. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a starter for this tractor?<br>

Yes, the hyd. block is just in front of my right foot in the middle of the tractor, mounted on the transmission.

Last month I had a bad hydraulic leak that dumped about a gallon of fluid. The problem was the main supply line to the 4-way FEL selector vibrated loose, so I only had to tighten the connections within the 4-way block to fix the leak. Hope that helps.

Never Mind: I decided to do some more detective work. I cleaned the battery terminals again and tightened both the negative and positive and the starter sequence works like a charm. Hope it keeps working.
Previously I had disconnected the negative terminal for the winter and also when I wasn't using the tractor. Then,when I was ready to use it, I would just push the negative cable onto the battery without tightening the nut; it usually worked, but this time I had to tighten the cable nut; it starts right up in about two seconds.
I also disconneted and cleaned all the glow plug terminals this time.
Hope I didn't cause anyone any extra work.

OK. The 15 qts you drained almost certainly then included that from the loader circuit. Your tranny and rear diff should still contain fluid, as draining them is not required when splitting the tractor at the bellhousing. <br>

Two dipsticks in front of the seat are typical; one for differential housing, one for transmission - both now seemingly take gear oil (that's the SAE90 bit). But you didn't mention one behind the seat - that should be where your put in hydraulic fluid. <br>

If the owner's manual doesn't identify it as a hydraulic device, perhaps it calls it a lift box. Because if you put gear oil in your hydraulics, you're likely to generate a whole brand new set of problems.<br>

Happy Easter, gents,

Wanted to report that I mowed yesterday for the first time with my brand new Kubota BX2350. Some of our property was ready for a cutting, and some wasn't, so I'd say I only cut about 2 acres. The fuel gauge moved perhaps only 1/8 of a tank, so I think I'll like this lil diesel's fuel economy. The 60"MMM works awesome, and I mowed at 2400rpm, as the book says don't run full speed when breaking-in. I was mowing some deep patches, so for those I just eased off on the HST continuing in 2-high and just let the blades get a little more swipe time on the thick stuff. I did manage to (not paying attention) shave a rock, making a heck of a racket (understatement) before I disengaged the PTO. The score was rock 0, center blade 0, as the rock looked to be shaved down/missing about a 1/4" of mineral off the top, and the center blade now has several quarter inch barbs/malformations on its leading edges. Since the center is gear box, direct-drive, the blade apparently wasn't slowed at all while widdling on the rock. The tractor's engine didn't even blink, but the deck shut off instantly once I disengaged the PTO... didn't spool down like normal.

So now I seek suggestions on hopefully grinding out these rough spots. Yes, the cut of the center blade suffered slightly after this collision, so I do want to, I suppose, benchgrind the blade as much as I can. Thoughts on the best way to go about it? I can always order a new blade for the center if it won't temper back into a smooth, sharp surface. I honestly don't think the damage is that bad that I can't 'recondition' the leading edges with enoguh grinding. I just don't want to lose temper, going at it for too long.

According to the photo you posted, the belt tensioner won't be able to do its job.

The belt must go from the belt tensioner to the pulley nearest the chute, in order to allow the belt tensioner to function properly.
