I'm with candoarms. You may want to keep it and get a Zero Turn for mowing. Your wife would love it. If you really want to downsize into smaller tractor than you may want to look at the New B2920HSD. Small but powerfull!

Before you can determine whether or not you received the wrong pistons, you'll first have to determine the proper specs for the factory original cylinder.

You say that the tractor "appears" to be original. However, without actually measuring the cylinder dimensions, there's no way to tell for sure.

You'll need to mic the cylinders to see if maybe they haven't been bored out and re-sleeved at some point in the past. If so, you'll need to find pistons and rings which are designed to fit the new sleeves.

While you're at it, I highly suggest you also measure the crankshaft journals, rod ends, and bearings, to be sure that they haven't been replaced with oversized parts as well.

I have two; a 4 year old KM454 and a 2 year old TS354C. Both have required corrective maintenance since new, but nothing that sounds like what you're describing. Perhaps you'd be so kind as to define "major overhaul".<br>

Thanks Brian, I think you are reading my mind! Recall I was asking about the hydraulic fluid filter...turns out I wasn't even looking in the right place. I was probing around the hydraulic reservoir of the LOADER and not looking at the tank under the hood that on my machine is labeled "power steering" but which I now see is labeled "hydraulic fluid" in the manuals you sent referring to the stock machine. So, like you, I have the factory loader and power steering kit. And now I have even more questions (thanks for your patience): (1) does the loader hydraulic reservoir/system have its own filter? I can't find anything. (2) does the PAS reservoir still have a filter in the bottom of the tank? It looks like the EXACT same tank as the one in the manual for hydraulic. (3) I wonder which one feeds the 3-pt lift? I am sure it is the under-hood hydraulic reservoir in the unmodified stock tractor, but with the factory mods you and I have (loader, PS), is the 3-pt now the run off the loader reservoir, or the PAS? I know, I have to get out there and follow some hoses around and learn this stuff for myself� By the way, I got my new fuel filter and - wow - what an improvement in all around performance! It cost $30 with shipping, but it was worth it. cheers

I checked my temp today and was running right at 170. I think Murf is right about the sending units. I'm going to try and check what ohms the sending unit is putting out and see what it takes to get the gauge up into range.

Yep. Just turn the key to the "run" position and wait for a few moments. In summer, I only let the glow plugs go for 5 seconds or so. In winter I let it go longer, maybe 15 to 20 seconds. If it's below around 15 degrees or so I'll have usually plugged in the block heater too. So far, hasn't let me down. At least as far as starting goes. :(

I used a very similar method back in the mid 80's with my 1979 VW diesel rabbit!

RangerJim, the LA211 loader used on the BX2200 is compatable with the BX1618 48" loader bucket. They are shown as being in stock in our warehouses. Your local dealer can provide you with a quote. I hope this is the info you are looking for.

Have you at least changed the filter or cleaned the strainer? I know its cold, but I'd do the simple stuff first. Then if it works I would replace the fluid as soon as you can - warmer weather is coming? The system should self bleed and I don't understand how it would get air, unless you have taken a hose off or done some repairs. BG in Iowa

Howdy. I'm looking at something on eBay that has a six bolt pattern for a Kubota L185 and I would like to confirm (if someone knows off the top of their head) what the bolt circle diamter is to see if it will work on my JD4100 (with a 6 x 6" pattern). Yes, I have asked the person listing the item but wanted to get a 2nd opinion. Thanks!!

here in TX they now inspect gas caps for reverse leaking, so gas fumes don't leak out of parked cars and pollute the air, I guess they have a one way air valve installed so the tank is vented, but if it fails so does your vehicle inspection, there goes $37.50 that you have to pay, or you can give the inspection station 30 for a 10 dollar new gas cap and they will pass you. But ya leave to go buy the cap yourself ya gotta pay another 37.50 when you get back.

They are gonna get ya one way or another,

I finally got out to take a look at these new tractors today. Got a quote for the 25 HP model, with FEL for $16,700. The tractor itself didn't look to be anything special- but it didn't look cheap either. I will give Bobcat credit for making good equipment- the saleman kept trying to mention Bobcats excellent warranties compared to other makers. I finally had to stop him and tell him that I have a Bobcat skid steer that is going on 200 hours and never once have I needed the warranty! (I think I do some pretty stupid stuff with mine, too.)

Anyways, all things considered, I was expecting this machine to be about $18- $19 K. Refreshing. They probably cant charge too much more or people would just but a skid steer!

Doc, relax, YOU don't have to go 6' deep for your posts.

Buzzlight is about another 500 miles further north than you, and in an area known for deep frost penetration.

You should be just fine with 4' deep holes provided your soil is well drained.

Joel, sounds like you need a taller discharge chute, if one is not readily available from the manufacturer or your dealer, they can be easily made.

We have several of our machines equipped with 6' (or more) discharge chutes, it makes a big difference for certain jobs. An adjustable top end is good too, it allows you to adjust the angle of the snow as it exits the chute on the fly.

We use them for things like loading dump trucks with snow, or clearing snow over banks, but then almost straight down again to avoid collateral damage from flying ice chunks and such.
