I've seen some crappy supposedly "rebuilt" motors tat wre nothing more than one replaced crank bearing. What verification do they have that it has been "rebuilt" and to what degree? Same with the pump--is it new or rebuilt---big difference in price. Is the backhoe dedicated or is there a PTO (not that it makes a differnece--just curious)

Acer based on your last post all I need is your credit card number and the expiration date, cause I think this is really simple.

When you put in low and you drive it the go-pedal can go all the way to the floor (or stops) in either direction right?

And when you put it in HIGH he go-peadl is really hard to push either way, right?

If you answered YES to both, then I feel it's the wrong oil and/or it is just cold and the oil has not heated up. That would explain why the steering is hard. Think of the tractor being a huge heat sink or radiator with the wind blowing on it and snow on it anywhere wicking away any heat. Think: the mechanical equivalent of human hypothermia. Ahh yes!

I could be wrong. But every piece of equipment I have that has a hydro or a pump on it takes a while to get warm.

Both augers have a shear pin. Line up the hole to the good shear pin and your shafts should be aligned.

Well, we designed it as a passive solar house so it is pretty efficient. Plus we keep it pretty cool. When it's below about 10F or so outside overnight, the furnace will occationally kick in at 5am for a bump up to 68 so we don't have ice in the corn flakes. As much as I would have hoped, we can't quite heat it with a match and cool it with an icecube!

Anyhow, sorry for dragging this off-topic. To the original poster I would echo the suggestion that someone is burning trash that they shouldn't be and that's just not being a good neighbor. As much as we all hate to get the "guv-ment" involved, this may be one of those cases.

thanks, bunnspecial for the info on the KK blade. I looked and priced both the TSC brands and the Woods. The local dealer made me a deail on the Woods that was too good to pass up - only about $50 more than the TSC price.

It IS heavy, but after playing around a bit with it, it seems my 2350 will do fine with it. I'll have to wait 'till spring thaw and dry to really see how it does.

First I hope you have this fixed by now.
We have a gas Gator that did run rough and could have been flooding, I beleive it was due to the fuel gelling. It would sit for a month or two some times without being used. It did not seem to matter using a gas stablizer. Found the solution was to use it more often and harder than the easy pace my wife was driving it.

BTW, where in SC are you?

In the last evening or so I saw an ad on the speed Channel for engine gaskets that are reusable. They showed a head gasket that had been in and out of an engine two or three times and was still considerd reuseable. When questioned about the price, the company rep said they are no more expensive than a conventional gasket. I don't remember the company name. Frank.

I was going to add just mulching it in place. I effectively have done this when clearing land. My blue is only 33hp (29 pto) with a KingKutter 5' brush hog. I've chopped standing 4" caliper oak trees simply by backing into it. I cheat a little by having the hydraulic toplink with makes it sooo much easier to do that, but you could do the same just by adjusting the toplink close-in to raise the rear of the cutter for easier attack. As the site gets messy simply use the backblade to tidy up and remulch.

The same is true with the price of oil. Most people assume that the price of oil is increasing. For the most part, this is not true. The dollar is weakening........which means that the oil producing countries now need more U.S. dollars in order to make the same amount of money.

The Federal Reserve is the real enemy. If we still had an economy based on the gold standard, we wouldn't have all of these problems.

(Ron Paul can fill you in, but I believe you already have a fair understanding of the situation.)

Congratulations, Randy! That's a great accomplishment.

I used to drink alot back in my 20s and early 30s, but had to cut back drastically as I got other ailments that replaced the crappy morning feeling I once brought on to myself with habitual heavy drinking. I joke about it now when friends ask why I drink so little. I tell them that after years of convincing God I liked waking up feeling like crap, he's now letting arthralgia and other ailments do the same, at lots less expense!

Speaking of the expense of habits, now that you're not spending all that money on cigarettes, I'm sure you'll reward yourself with new tractor toys, right?

My family has suffered through many hard times this year as well, but we've never given up because we have Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and He had provided the will. Not that the hard times don't hurt, no, far from that. But having that relationship with my Savior has been a tremendous help in getting through the troubles.

Realizing that not everyone sees the virgin birth of Jesus Christ as the reason for Christmas, I pray that miracles of faith this season would show a lot of non-believers the comfort of having Him as their dearest friend.

I sat all afternoon with my grandkids, in a nice, warm home,looking at all the decorations we put up, relishing in the aromas coming from the kitchen as my wife bakes goodies, and thinking of all the blessings we've had this year. My wife said she needs to run back into town tonight, back into the shopping madness that is the general focus of the holiday now. Asked if I wanted to go, I declined...I'm not into crowds and I'll try to stay out of town until Christmas is past.

So, if you're still reading this, I ask you to take some time to really count your blessings. If you have your family, your health, and manage to earn a living, you are blessed. If you can turn to the baby that was virgin born and died on a cross so long ago, then you have found the greatest blessing ever.

Merry Christmas to all of you! And I pray that you have a prosperous New Year.

Simplicity is still a strong seller in some markets. The 9518 or 5015 are reportedly very tough units. NAPA, Auto-Zone, O'Rilleys, etc should be able to cross reference filters using the Simplicity and Allis Chalmer model numbers.
