Yup..... Knew that. Even though I have not manipulated such a control for a bunch of years. I will check with the small engine shop down the road and ask about adjustments.

I recently checked into renewing my pilots license but $140/Hour (plus instructor fees) is too big a hurdle.

It is indeed the return line for the excess flow of diesel fuel to the injectors.

If you don't understand diesel principles, here's the basics in a nutshell.

The injection pump gives a blast of pressurized fuel to each injector at the proper time, the injector in turn has two main roles, one is to turn the blast into a super fine mist of atomized fuel, the other (and the reason for the second line) is to very accurately meter the amount of fuel and timing, it does this by having a spring loaded valve in it, the valve opens at a set pressure, and closes when the fuel pressure drops below that set point also.

Since the injector sets the amount of fuel that can ultimately pass it, the pump must deliver a slight surplus in order to ensure that the proper mixture of fuel and air is achieved. The excess just goes along the line you are referring to and back into the fuel tank.

This is why the newer injection systems which use both a separate source of pressure to the injector (usually pressurized engine oil) and an electronic timing system are more efficient, rather than merely relying on a rise and fall of pressure in the fuel system, there is far less lag and variance in the newer systems.

To answer your question after all that, I would need to see your setup to say for sure, I'm not familiar with the B-series, but I would say generally speaking, if you capped the broken fitting somehow and worked a T or something in to let the fuel out of that hose it should be fine. If you just cap the line it will eventually develop enough pressure to blow the cap off or at least leak. After all you cannot compress a liquid!

Well, considering us 'north-of-the-border types' are probably at about the same latitude (roughly 44�) and an altitude of just 750' above sea level I don't see how that's anything unusual.......

BTW, Canada has been officially metric for the last 30 years. Just wait, the time is coming for you guys too, on July 25, 1991, President Bush issued Executive Order 12770 "Metric Usage in Federal Government Programs" mandating the transition to metric measurement for all federal agencies.

Once you get the hang of it, it's waaaay easy than Imperial units. The trick is to NOT try to convert, just switch!

Water freezes at 0� and boils at 100�, and instead of a yard it's a meter, and it contains 10 decimeters, which in turn is made up of 10 centimeters, which in turn is made up of 10 millimeters and so on.....

It sure is easy to figure things in your head when it's all based on simple multiplication or division by 10.....

Strange mine came with everything to mount to cab and mine was 135.00 plus tax so it would be about the same as yours. I would email JD and ask about this as something does not sound right. Not bad mouthing the dealer just maybe the kit should have these in the box and were n it shipped. It does happen.Did the paper work that came with them show the mounting brackets?

I am very impressed with the backhoe and loader and the tracktor is amazing.I have noticed under 1400 rpm a little bit of competion for power between the loader and the tracktor but above that no problems. The hst is so easy to use.

I have a Kubota B7610 with the Kubota 50" front mount snow blower model BX2750. I put a Woods RB72 rear grade blade on the back of the tractor. The RB72 is great because you can put the blade in float mode so that it does less biting into the drive.

The installation of a front blower takes a little more time as you have to install the sub frame and the drive shaft to the mid PTO. I built a dolly out of plywood that I slide the sub frame under the tractor with that greatly simplifies the install. The subframe allows you to attach a front blade or brush as well should yoou need one.

For me this is an awesome combination.

-Light snow -- just use the grader blade don't have to sand or salt it cleans up so good

-Deep snow -- Drive forward with the blower no stiff neck

-Driven over snow - Blow it then use grader blade to scrape off what the blower misses

-Wet slushy snow -- reverse grader blade and push backwards

The reasons I would consider a rear blower:

-Relatively short driveway

-lower cost

-need to keep loader on for cleaning horse stalls etc.

- simpler install

I have a loader and when we have gotten an early storm (before I install the blower) I have tried using the loader, it is definitely not the snow tool of choice it.

The pix below shows the tractor with the sub frame mounted. All the added mountng hardware for the sub frame stays on the tractor and does not intefere with the loader or the MMM.

If I was doing driveways commercially I would opt for the heavier version of this blower. The BX2750 is targeted as a consumer blower with a lower price point, thinner metal etc.. I have used it for 3 years and it is holding up well.

Just to elaborate on what Joel said, because it doesn't sound like you've done this before.

Kubotas are pretty good at starting after they've been run dry.

One thing you didn't mention, but is critical, is that you have to both open a line slightly, and crank the engine over in order to get the injection pump primed, and the air out of the lines between the pump and injectors.

Sometimes a good shot of WD40 directly into the air intake will be enough to back the engine fire up. It only takes a second of the engine running to do what seems like forever cranking over on the starter motor.

Just be aware, do not ever use ether or conventional 'quick start' products on a diesel engine, it's way to easy to do serious damage to the engine if it gets too much.

Well, you could just rake them toward the trunk where they'll serve as mulch, and mow only the raked area.

Here, some people worship them -- there's a Black Walnut Restaurant, a Black Walnut Dance Troup, a Black Walnut Drive, etc, so when I moved here I planted a grove, but the only use of mine has been by the squirrels. I'm told they taste good, once you get them shelled, but I differ with the squirrels on that point.

When sharpening a chain you should first look for the most worn tooth and then use that as a base for size and have them all the same.
Did you know that you can normally tell what hand the person is what has been sharpening the chain? Those teeth are normally filed back further as they have a better stroke then the other hand.

Morton has a rigid board insulation, that can lightly insulate, and prevent condensation when you turn the heater on during the winter months (Iowa). Any advice, since this will add considerable cost to the project? Maybe I will have Morton put their own rigid board insulation on the roof, and I can add 4x8 sheets of foam on the side walls later. ????

Art has a great point there! Fact is that (I learned the embarressing way) I here more folks winding their saws wide open to limb a felled tree! I was using my buddie's saw (He is a full time logger/owner) a few years back (15) He comes out yellin an bitchin at me. Say's, "what da Heck you doing? Your not cutting a 2 foot tree, its a friggin 2" limb! The saw will last ya 20 times as long if you run the engine speed proper for what your cutting. I now think he was also refering to chain life between csharpening.
He also would whip out his file about (on average) every hour or so to touch up while working (that was said here earlier too)
Since then, I hear a saw winding up while limbing twigs and I laugh. Since I bought my rancher, I let the saws weight push thru with a nice steady slow chain speed. It may not "sound as cool" BUT, I think it definately will show in future life

Joel makes a good point for simplicity and durability as I like both! I might also want to look at the BX24 for what might be left as well as future growth. I still want more, lets look at the new models B that are due out his spring with three range hydro's!

Just be careful. New tractor owners should read the Ten Commandments on tractor safety. It's available, free of charge, in many places around the net. Kubota has it posted on their website, as do most others. I encourage you to read it over. It's all common sense....but even so, I look it over a couple of times each year.

Mine is a cargo trailer and not exactly for snowmobiles. It has only a semi-wedge and just a human type side entrance door. Not the flip down type for snowmobiles or RTV's on the side. I store stuff in it, move my kid around from college to her new place and have parties, move stuff up North and haul lawn & garden tractors. I haven't messed it up yet so the floor is clean and has white side walls. Been thinking about converting it to a red-neck camper. <br>

I can put a false rear wall in it with a storm/screen door and air conditioner hole. I can then get hookup at camp sites and use their showers. I like to travel with my dog (yellow lab), so in hot weather can just leave her for a few hours with the air on. Makes a good dog house. It's allot lighter than a small travel trailer and has multiple purposes.<br>

Hi Yooper,

Thanks got that typo! My typing %$&&&&^ is awful I should take a typing class ;-) The purpose of the Step 1,2,3 is to alert posters, particularyly those on dial up, to wait until step 3 before exiting. This prevents the duplicate posts from happening.
