A couple of questions:

What do you plan on doing with your tractor? Just mowing grass or do you want to attach equipment to the 3 pt. hitch such as a box scraper?

How much ground do you have? Do you need a front end loader (FEL)? The 2 most useful pieces of equipment to attach to a tractor are a FEL and a box scraper

There is a good thread here on Bio-diesel that you can look up but from what I'm reading it will likely clog your filter...best to stay with regular diesel.

I have 2 acres and a BX2350 with a FEL, belly mount mower, a box scraper and a landscape rake and I use them all.

If you can give us a bit more on your intended use etc. we can give you some more helpful advice.

The previous owner of my present home NEVER pumped out the septic tank..... for something like 18 years running.

She did, however put the freeze dried bugs down the toilet once a month or so.

When I had the system pumped there was just the usual amount of goop on the bottom of the tank that one would see with pumping at three year intervals.

The pump guy was quite surprised when I told him how long it had been since the septic had been pumped.

After some research, I think you can try this air filter for your sd1800, try ref CA2675 from FRAM (Height is 69 mm, inner dia is 111 mm and outer dia is 188mm.<br>

Sorry, I missed that post. Doesn't sound good at all...I hope they got more than "run at higher rpm"! Reading back about the cruise and now your mention of radio, sure sounds like something funny electrically. Leak too, eh? "On occasion the trans will stop pulling" with no load...whew.

Did all this start just with the full boxblade, or were there problems earlier? Whatever the problem is (are?), I hope you get an actual fix. Thanks for letting us know. jk

Hey, Murf...do you get away with 15/40 all year cuz your stuff is running all the time? Or are they always starting in heat?

'Round here (northern mid-Mich or southern north-Mich depending on your POV!), Deere and the dealer seem to say 5/30. The newer Ford cars are insisting on 5/20. No problem with 15/40 in winter?

There sure are a lot of opinions on this. Maybe someone could try no oil and report back! jk

Yeah, and I have 560 hours on my oversized JD4310 with 32HP on my 2 acres. People think I am crazy with a tractor that large but I am pulling stumps continuously for me, my neighbors. I split logs with a log splitter that helps when you have 13 gpm hydraulic flow. And I chop up my continuously growing brush pile with my IM502, and rip out my 6' trees and transplant them. Oh, and I can lift stuff up to the attic door over the garage with the higher reach. And there are all the stone walls and and rubble from the culvert that I dug up and turned into nice lawn. I tell my wife I could get a smaller tractor now with latest technology and she rightfully corrects me and says "no - this tractor is what we need." Go one size up.

I'm in business myself. From time to time we get actual advertisers hawking their wares and I wasn't sure if this was one them. And we get people who knowingly or otherwise who don't post their classified ad in the Classifieds here; it tends to muddle up things.

That's a good tractor. Price is within range that I have seen. But frankly, I'd rather pay slightly higher with a good local dealer than an out of town cheapo. I have an M6800 and find the R4 tires work good for me. Yes I get some slippage in muddy or wet condition, but the R4's handle the heavy brush hogging (thorns and heavy stubble) well. Good luck.

Sorry for the confusion folks, but I am not a vendor for Borgford Design & Manufacturing. I'm not employed by them either. But I did quote some of their atributes from the brochure I received from one of his dealers. Obviousely, being new to the internet, this is not what you do. Through the past 14 years I have used several BoDozer attachments on a variety of tractors and heavy equipment. Are they good? Without a doubt, I wouldn't buy anything else. Over the years have I gotten to know Mr. Borgford through all my buisness transactions--yes. He has designed a few implements for me that have beeen a great help. I appologize if my wording offended some of you, but I have been using these products so long that I did sound like I took ownership. Am I familiar with his product line? Yes. Along with John Deere, kabota, New Holland, etc. Because I live around them.

Reading quite a few of these conversations sounded like many had questions about how to accomplish tasks on their land that I have delt with, and wondering what would be the best tool. They are asking questions from people who are not sure of the limits or capabilities of their equipment. I thought to put in my two cents worth. I am a strong beleiver to find the best tool that is able to multi-task. That way my land is not littered with attachments that only do one thing. There are many of us who have been working with a wide variety of tools for a long time. Just wanted to help out and save others from going through the trials and errors.

My business is my land and my family. I will be thoughtful of my wording for those of you are so leary.

I have several implements from Borgford Design and Manufacturing, and I wouldn't do any work without them. Yes they are deffinatly worth the extra cost. I have worked with mine for over 12 years and never have I had a problem. Are you still interested in them? I see this posting is several years ago, but I thought you may still need some info.

Like with any tracor look for wet spots underneath, as well as on the housings for leaking or weeping seals. Look for loose bolts, where paint is removed from on the bolt heads as someone has worked there before.

Then you may want to go play the lotto...looking at the manual there is a "detent ball and spring" that is accessed near the shaft where it goes into the axle housing. The manual is hard to see clearly exactly where it is. The ball may be gummed up and/or rusted or the spring rusted, broken or gummed up.

Their ROPS location is interesting. Putting the ROPS in front of the driver would be an advantage around here, pushing away branches when driving through trees, but somehow visually it doesn't seem like it would offer much protection in a rollover.

I use TRC tire seal in both ATV's and tractor tires. Had very good luck with it. Cost about $100 per 6 gallon pail. I purchased mine at my local Coop.

You will also need a pump with application hose and fitting with dosage chart which TRC seals for about $90.

I looked at the Ultra Seal but it was much more expensive due to shipping. The folks at both Ultra Seal and TRC were very helpful.

My guess would be to use bias ply tires.......or tires designed for use with inner-tubes, as they have no steel wires inside them.

Most farm application tires are not steel belted.

Good luck on your winter project. I hope this becomes a profitable enterprise for you.

I haven't priced used machines. I know guys who paid that for slightly newer TZ's with less HP and smaller size. I have a TC33D (hydro, Super Steer, crusie conrtol, all the bells and whistles). Bought new in '02 for $13,500 Out the door. It retailed at over $16,500 and now sells for over $20K.

You will be able to pull any Cat. 1 implement in the 6' wide range, except a brushhog which is way too heavy in the rear without loader (I have no loader).

A snap ring would indicate to me that the shaft is either splined or keyed; removing the ring may, with some careful rapping of a brass hammer, push the shaft out of the pulley. My New Holland rider just dropped the entire shaft and blade when the pulley weld broke. A quick arc welding reapir got me back mowing.

I have sortof a coop with my neighbors. I have a new tractor and each fall I do all the plowing now. In return one of my neighbors loans me his baler and swather whenever I need it. Between the three of us on this road we have everything we need. It works out really nice. Just a couple weeks ago I finally broke down and bought a new tractor so now it looks like I'm doing all the haying work myself too and they are buying about half the hay off my property and paying my gas to work theirs. I plan on buying my own discbine from new holland in the spring before I bale my alfalfa again and eventually my own baler but I got the new tractor first and made sure it was big enough to handle everything I need. I only have 25 acres here myself but I have 100 more somewhere else and work a total of 150 acres with it counting the neighbors. It's nice to have the cab and AC on this new one. An old minnie 4 star was my main tractor till about 2 weeks ago.

Has anyone done the head gasket on one of these yet? parts needed? any manual in english ? for this tractor,not one that comes close. AS I've seen some for 50 or so that come about 90% match. Thank at that price after a few they could pay someone to translat it.<br>
