Thanks for the feedback. The dealer felt that turf tires would be fine if I were using primarily for lawn work (grass, mulching, aerating, etc.) Here in Virginia, we have very little snow. However, I would use it to move mulch, and dirt. Just not sure if turf tires would give me enough traction.

The advice is appreciated. Hopefully I will have time this weekend to check a few things out. Its been a nagging problem for the last year. The older engines are so much easier to work on, very little electronics! Thank you EPA.

I too recently purchased a new tractor. Kubota Grand L3830 with FEL. Have about 15 acres to mow and would like any info on which rotary mower to purchase. Which is better, lift or drag rotary mower? Looking at Woods, Rhino, KK and Bush Hog. Most of what I'll be mowing is weeds and grass, all relatively flat, level ground. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'll throw in my $.02. I like the turfs. I backhoe, skid logs, mow, run in wet slime mud and all kinds of snow.

If it is real wet in the woods I throw on a pair of rear chains. Steep snowy driveways require chains also, no matter what the tire.

I would not have a R-4 on these light tractors. My second option would be ag, R-1, tires. But I have a yard not a lawn.

What kind of soils will you work it in? Clays, rocky, gravel, loamy...

Like Frank said the debate continues... Fat girls or skinny girls...

Well, as it turns out we bought our new tractor today. We went with the B7510 HSDTR w/ loader for $13,100 and added a 9" auger for $800 (normal price $1150). Hoping we did ok. As far as the hoe, they told us not a good idea to try and use it on any tractor where it doesn't come standard. For what we need we will probably just rent a hoe set up for a weekend and that should do us. The only other thing I was going to use it for was planting larger trees so I guess I'll have to get creative on that one. I don't think the loader is going dig the size holes I need. Thanks again, guys, for all your help. I'll let you know how it goes once we start using it.

A friend of mine was on his MMM and reached over to pick up a piece of wire. About the time he got the wire in his hand the other end was caught by the blades. As it ripped the wire out of his hand he was lucky he did not lose any fingers just a lot of stiches (28 to be exact).

I learned a good lesson from this dont grab wire. I grabbed a hickory branch and it did the same thing. The lawnmower ripped the branch through my hand at the speed of light. Lost some skin, and I am now much smarter.

EW, you combine the ideas...put a toilet on it for the seat, heat hotdogs on the engine for sale to go with the ice cream in the box you installed. All with a flag on it and you in the parade...please post pictures. Don't forget the flowers! Then you could run in circles to match the Shriners in the Parade (please not throwing off at them). kt

Thanks for the kind words.

In the VAST majority of cases, airflow has more to do with the blades than anything else.

If you flip a bunch of different mowers over you will see there isn't much difference between them in design.

You might want to try a more aggressive blade (more height), a typical 6' side discharge deck should fire a pretty good stream of clippings out the discharge. Rear discharge decks are a different animal.

I bought a NH TC35DA HST with a FEL scraper I got it as a demo with 25 hours, great deal 19,000 for the tractor and FEL, the dealer only sold the enorossi finish mower, and I cant find any post about them, does any one have any experience with the rossi, how about reliability, maintance, ect..<br>
.I love my tractor, I had rented a 40 before I purchased and was woried about the 3 cylender, but I can't tell them apart.

Have you checked the fins in the radiator for seeds, dirt, debris? If they're the least bit clogged that reduces cooling efficency. There might also be a pre-screen ahead of the radiator to filter out the big stuff--it needs tobe clean too. A clogged air filter will make it run hot too. Add those two issues together and it's not good.

Something I had happen to me on my NH was there were two rubber hydraulic cooler hoses that sprung a leak to the point oil misted out of them and clogged the radiator fins which quickly led to it being clogged with dusty dirt.

I purchased a new NH TC 35 Hydro, FEL, scraper and a 72 in rear discharge finish mower made by ROSSI does anyone have any experience with the ROSSI and does anyone have any maintaince info? How about reliability with their mowers or other impliments?

KW, try install the cartridge from the end you are not doing so now if your gun will let you. I can not remember for fact but think I drop mine in from the pump end. I would have to pull one to be sure. kt

You guys will probably laugh at this but those temps I don't understand and don't want to.

Do you also use any kind of say blanket with your tractor so the heat is sort of kept in? To me a block heater would loss most of the heat in an zero enviroment about as quick at it can be heated due to the metal transferring it so effeciently. kt
