One thing wierd happened this morning though. As I was retrieving an email in my email from TP, I picked the earlier email so that I could follow the "story line". As I finished that email, I proceeded to the next only to find that every additional email sent from TP were then dumped.

If it wasn't for the fact that I physically saw them initially, I would've nevr known that they were there, However, I had ten emails waiting to be read, and after I read the first (or the earliest) they were all gone.
I checked my old mail file - nothing there either.
Any thoughts?

I was waiting to hear what you found before commenting. I too have a few older B_200 series oranges. One of the strangest noises that I had ever encountered was that of the front propeller shaft bearing disintegrating as I drove. <br>

Basically if you were to look at the profile of the tractor, one would see a shaft tube coming downwards from the mid section of the tractor that would connect thru a boot to the aft side of the front differential. At this point, there is a removable housing that houses a u-joint. This is where the noise would be originating, and traveling up the tube and resonating into the center of the tractor. <br>

Over time, moisture would develop in the tube, and ultimately travel downward straight into the bearing assembly. In time, the bearing would dry out,rust, and breakdown. If this ever happens, plan on replacing the full bearing set in this housing, and the two boots for the driveshaft tube. Small money seeings how you would have the entire shaft dropped anyway. That drove me bananas for a bit until I figured out where it was coming from! I had that happen twice, one time on both of my 5200's since I bought them in 1987. It happened now about 9 years ago, so I really cannot complain.<br>

I am glad you like the pics. One of these days, i'll get around to dropping a few more on here.

As far as the roller (lawn roller lol) is concerned, I used a 55 gal plastic drum, a couple of 1 1/4" pipe flanges, and some high quality construction adhesive in a caulk tube, that is a moisture curing adhesive. Along with this, I used some self drill and tap 1" hex screws (8 per flange) and screwed it all on center to both sodes of the barrel.

The rest is merely framing. There should not be any problem piggy backing a second barrel for width, so long as the respective joining pipe and flanges are large enough to accommodate the center twist force - a 2" should work fine as long as it is kept as close together as possible.

The Befco Tiller that I have has the offset ability as well. Funny thing is, I have never needed to make use of it. Usually where I get into, I still have sufficient room to maneuver without having to utilize it. But it is there just in case. It to is labeled as a 1558, as is the LandPride, and without question the LandPride is certainly quality as well.

Please don't tell me you use a butterknife as a screwdriver too :). (read: they're not made for that type of work---for very long)

If it's still under warranty, I'd be reluctant to publish such "tests" as the dealer and/or regional rep could call into question your "abusive" behavior toward the product and could jeopardise future warranty claims.

But I'm jis' sayin'.

Sorry... Field has been no-till farmed for the past 20 years. Currently has nothing planted in it but grass and weeds which are harvested for mushroom mulch the past couple of years. Ground is relatively flat, no hills or anything to speak of.

I have a flexible rubber hydraulic hose coming out of my Cadet 1862 & 1864 blocks with a swivel at the block that I thought was from the factory. Got both tractors used but they have the identical setup. When you are done, they rotate up and lay real nice inside the frame. In my older models 782's, it is not a problem to get at them.<br>

I got the new pump on and it pumped fuel as it should. The mechanic I spoke with on the phone was going to come up and fix it. But his wife went into labor the day he was to do so. The had a baby girl who came early. Now with all that said. I put the pump on but here is the bad part. I believe I must have let the gear that the tapered shaft fits into jump a tooth. The acceleration is slow and when you go to drive off it almost dies and does not regain its rpm�s That sucks. I ran out of day light yesterday and am heading out this morning to see if the slots on the pump will let me adjust it out. Then I will be off to work for a three days. It may have to wait until Monday night.

I'm jis' sayin'...something's fishy... how can someone say they were "given" something (once) and then continue with referring to buying it (three times)? Maybe just another drive-by basher venting?

Aside from that, I can remember in another life (job) that the (inside) joke in the auto industry when referring to warranteeing "for the life of a vehicle" was not the user's percieved "life" (or what the user hoped it to last), but a legally defined period of 7 years. So using that as a yardstick, that CC was living on borrowed time.

Thanks for the help guys. I checked with my local Kubota dealer and was told that they use NAPA antifreeze. I have since found some Prestone "Heavy Duty Engines" extended life, which according to the label, is designed for ALL diesel engines and all metals. The downside is that it costs $22.00 per gallon, but thats O.K., since it's only money. That's worth peace of mind. Thanks again.

I don't know about that specific tractor, but it's likely most small Yanmars are of a similar design. That is, hydraulic fluid shared with tranny/rear diff. As such, I put UTF (Universal Tractor Fluid) in my YM240

Can anybody tell me about the Toro 5Xi GT 550 Garden tractor. From what I have been able to find out this model has been discontinued but parts are still available. This machine appears to have everything available for it.<br>

In this day and age of lawsuits over trivial things, most operators manuals can be downloaded from the manufacturers website free of charge as .PDF documents.

Not only is this a nice way to keep them, you can search them electrically for a certain word that way.

They think it's better to give you the manual for free than you get hurt and sue them because you don't have it.
