I'm thinking of getting a chipper but I need a 6" or larger. All the used ones I've found are in the far n/e or n/w and as I live in texas, the shipping would be too expensive. You posted you had a jinma that you might want to sell. if you or anyone has a used 6" or larger that is resanable priced, please let me know.
Also, can you tell me more about the jinma chipper? You stated that with some fine tuning it works good. What did you mean?

I don't like to oversize as it cut's into the tractor's lists of chores it can do. I'd look at the 30 plus sizes for the jobs you have listed. One you might want to look at that is a great buy is the L-3400 Kubota for the work you have but I wouldn't like to tackle the work you say you have with a chassis any lighter. I do like light tractors as they burn less fuel.

I would tell anyone to by the BFG all terrains KO's. My Tundra has about 130K now and is on it's second set of BFG's. They may not be the smoothest riding tires, not that they are bad, but I run them year round up here in Vermont. Any tire that hands snow, mud, etc and lasts 50k miles with great traction is worht the extra money. Because the Tundra uses 265/70s (BFG doesn't off it in this size) but the tire dealer said Toyota recomends a slightly wider tire (275/somethings) as an alternate. They don't make any noise that I've noticed. I think Tirerack has user comments.

Looks like the units are fairly close in a lot of ways but one thing that seems to swing the balance towards the 2320 in my mind is the fact that that the 2320 has a cat 1 3pt vs a modified cat 1 3pt. I think that might make it easier to find a wide range of attachments for future jobs. Also, it looks like the hydraulics on the 2320 have the edge in capacity.

I bet you would enjoy either unit but personally I would want that extra capacity...

I recently bought a Wallenstein BX62 chipper. I was not sure if my 4710 had enough ponies for this size chipper but I really like the BX62. So far I have been very impressed with the unit. The 4710 seems to power it just fine. I have been reducing an older burn pile to chips and have been surprised with how easy the BX62 is to work. All of the branches I am chipping are at least 3 years old. <br>

I was surprised that I broke the shear pin in the PTO coupler chipping a 4-5 inch diameter branch. I contacted Wallenstein and the told me that the pin they put in initially is the softest they would recommend. (10mm X 50mm 8.8 hardness rating) They told me that it was acceptable to replace the pin with a 10.9 or 12.9 hardness rated pin. <br>

I told them that the material I was chipping was fairly old which prompted them to suggest I go with the 10.9 hardness pin to add strength to the pin connection but still maintain a good safety margin to protect the equipment. They said if I was chipping green material moving to the 12.9 hardness pin should not be a problem. The 10mm X 50mm 10.9 hardness bolts were a bit tough to track down but I did find them and picked up a dozen for good measure.<br>

The chips the BX62 is making so far with the older branches are about 1.5 inches square by 1/8th inch thick. There has been very little dust which surprised me after reading some other posts on the subject of chipping older wood.<br>

I really like the new knife setup on the BX62, no adjusting they are fixed position and reversible. I am new to using a chipper so I am perhaps a bit more timid about jamming things into the feed chute than some old hands. Every long limb has been fed in and left to complete its entry with no further assistance. I got the standard feed chute rather than the hydraulic feed chute mainly due to cost. I do like the fact that the feed chute can be raised and locked up for transport. <br>

I got mine from Iowa Farm Equipment, I was amazed how fast I got it. I ordered it at 2:00 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and it was waiting at our local freight dock in Nebraska at 7:00 am the next morning. Hook up was a breeze since the BX62 is JD Quick Hitch compatible, I supplied a top link pin and bushing and a set of lift arm bushings and that was it. So far this looks like it will be a very useful attachment.

I recently purchased a 2301D and love it. However, the other day I noticed a large puddle under the center of the tractor. Upon further review, I found a rubber boot that is on what I believe to be the drive shaft (runs from front to back) that is torn. Where can I find a replacement for this? I don't even know what the part is called so I am having a slight issue in researching to order one. Is there somewhere to get a complete parts listing for this model. Thanks.

Gents--

Sorry for the delay in responding with thanks to all those who responded to my question on tire pressure. I thought I was asking a straight forward and would get a simple answer, but I didn't, and that is why I enjoy this website so much.

Let me summarize the answers that I received to my question on the correct pressure for the front tire on a Kubota BX2350:

Answer #1: Look in the manual (22 PSI for bar tires)
Answer #2: Look on the side of the tire (122 PSI)
Answer #3: Get two to three bars on the ground (about 10-14 PSI)
Answer #4: Depends on the load; get a good footprint.
Answer #5: Back off of the max on the side of the tire by about 20 pounds

I've been following the postings on this site off and on for about three years on a variety of topics, and its the insights provided in the postings that make much more sense that what you find in the manual or written on the side of a piece of rubber.

You guys have given me the range answers that I needed, and a little bit of the knowledge that is behind those answers.

Hello, I'm brand new to the discussion. I have just brought home an International tractor with the following:<br>
It appears to have a faded "674" on the sheet metal.<br>
3 cyl diesel motor.<br>
540 pto.<br>
power steering.<br>
No fuel tank under hood, but mounted at back (aftermarket?).<br>
Exhaust runs down & under tractor.<br>
The info I have gotten on the 674 models refer to differing motors, from gas to diesel. Also, my serial number (041265BSY) has not fit what I've seen/heard so far. What might my tractor be regarding the serial number issue, as well as the engine size & the approx year?

Well, I am certainly going with the Kubota. I have most likely sold my small JD outright, and got a price on a bx2350 of 13.5k for the tractor, FEL, and 60" mower. For that price, it looks like I will be able to go with new instead of used.

Surprisingly, if I were to trade the JD, the Kubota dealer is offering more than the JD dealer where I originally bought it.

I would think the determining factor for plow size is the type of snow you receive and how it falls. Yes I know that sounds silly. In Nebraska we don't get a lot of snows but when we do get one it tends to be in the 4-8 inch range with lots of wind. That can make for some good sized drifts. In those instances, the only method of moving the snow is with the FEL. The other snows we tend to get here are the early fall and late spring dumps where we get 8-12 inches of heavy wet snow. In these conditions I would opt for the 72 over the 84 as lond as the 72 at angle would cover the tracks of the tractor so the tires were on clean ground. Talk to your dealer and see what he says other owners in the area have done and what success or failures they have had. Local conditions can often make the difference. Good luck...

As long as your block is still useable you will be more likely to get it rebuilt for less than you will end up paying to get another one. Although, another mower is probably going to cost the same too.

i also have water in my fluid. i just bought a old yanmar ym240d. it is the same tractor as the JD-750.. i have drained the fluid from the transmission (yucky white fome)... i have removed the shiftlever and shifting forks from the transmision so i dont dare start the tractor........... (my question is) how can i bleed the hydrolic rams on the loader??? .....

I think I have to say yes to all the above but I don't have instructions handy. They are using more of the tractors original eqipment then they did before. I'd say about six hours but you might want to have some assistants and anyone with good tools can put one on.
