I own a B7800 (30 Hp compact) and am thinking of buying a 12" - 2 bottom moldboard plow to work on foodplots. The manual specifies this as the largest plow to use with this tractor. Does anyone have any experience plowing with this tractor?

Life isn't so bad back here in Michigan. When you get a chance head up toward the North along the eastern coastline and make a stop in Augres. There is a little Irish bar there called Dunleavies. Remember St. Paddy's is coming on the 17th. Their house soup is a mean "Cajun Crab and Cheese" that makes your mouth water for a little something cool to put the fire out. They have Michelob Light on tap in frosted Mugs. Life is good for those that take the time to enjoy it!

In setting the distance between rear wheels, how far out can the wheel go? If taken out to the last of the three holes on one side of the axle, then the hub is out beyond the end of the axle by about an inch. There's a fourth hole through the axle at right angles to the other three, (on a different face of the hexagonal axle). It is about half way between the middle and outermost holes on the original face. My concern is that that third hole is out so far that the cotter bolt might not hold properly, or that the hub could be unable to bear the weight unless the axle goes all the way through it. Would appreciate advice on whether the last hole is safe.<br>

For Art White. Which cab, Sims or Curtis, has the best fit on the tractor? Can they both accomodate the joy stick for my loader which is mounted on the right side of the hood/dash? Do they both take about the same amount of effort to install on the tractor? I am looking at the soft sided cab due to cost.

kwschumm Thanks, I did have it checked out (via its serial number), by my local dealer. I am buying unit from a large dealer in an neighboring state. i would have went local but this price is very good. As I understand it, the guy who orignally bought this unit, had a place of 1 acre and finally figured the unit was too big (or finished the big stuff and traded to a smaller unit). Definitely will check the PTO out, and the tranny for noise. I am thinking of taking the trip (2 1/2 hours) to make a final look see or just doing that when they deliver and pick-up mine. I can check it out at either place. If I go, and don't like, i won't get a small delivery charge, if I wait, I will get that charge.

I need to do the first 50 hours servicing on my Kubota L3130 tractor, but I'm not sure what type of transmission it has in it. It is not listed in my owners manual. I went on the internet and they list three different types of transmissions it could possibly have. How to I find out which type it is?

Joe; I have no idea of your age group, so if you did'nt live thru the early 60's and weren't around agriculture then I'll give you a bit of a rundown on turbos. If you have heard bad things about them then the stories probably originated back then. I'll use the 4020 John Deree as an example, they came out of the factory with about 95 horsepower using a non turbo diesel engine. Farmers were hungry for more power so short line companys like M and W Gear Co. started selling turbo kits for the 4020 and many other makes of tractors, they sold like hotcakes. You could easily get 120-130 horsepower out of the 4020. Problem was more air along with more fuel to produce the extra power combined to produce more heat. The cooling system wasn't designed to hadle the extra heat, the 4020 only held 8 quarts of engine oil, too much heat for too little oil. You'll still se an occasional 4020 with an ad on deep cast aluminum ribbed oil pan that held more oil. Most of them really did hold up quite well, manny of them are still running today. Todays engines with factory turbos are designed to handle the heat and highjer pressures turbo's produce.In the days before tractor cabs I used to enjoy the whine of a turbo under load, kinda fascinating. My 1510D Jumps out of 4 wheel drive. The shifter fork seems to be bent<br>
internally. Is this a common problem? How heroic does the effort have<br>
to be to split the tractor and replace the shifter? Do the dog clutches<br>
usually go bad too? I have the tools and ambition, I just have never<br>
worked on the guts of a tractor and I would like to line the parts up<br>
ahead of time. Has one of you folks been through this.<br>

Joe, this is where you find out how good of a dealer you have! We do it ourselves just out of curiosity, the tech's are continually cross referencing the parts to see what changes.
I'd wonder why the need for the extra horsepower? Some times for the little lacking on a hill to tickle the pump a little will get you what you might need. I've seen fuel filters that were brand new take 20% of the power away on the dyno!

You could also have a backhoe on a B-2100! The 2100 will also dig but it would not begin to keep up with a B-21. Do be sure you get the three point hitch with it as some were sold without it.

Harvey; Thanks for your input. the need for single and three phase power will not be needed at the same time. There are only three or four three phase machines I need to power. The single phase in the shop will be supplied by conventional wiring comming off the utility lines, so the generator need not produce both phases at the same time. None of the three phae machines will be hard wired into anything, just powered by a super heavy drop cord system. Thanks. Frank.

My Kubota B5200,B6200 & B7200 Workshop Manual,page M.1.1, illustration 0319F018, indicates a slight bump or crown on the rear mating surfaces of the Clutch Release Fork legs. The crown should be facing toward the transmission or rear of the assy. Check the illustration in the WSM carefully.

Why don't you check out the new Erskine pull behind. It attaches to the 3 point hitch and lets you keep your front end loader! You are "pulling" the blower through the snow; not much of a problem for guys with a chained up four wheel drive tractor. If you're blowing deep snow, you can lower your loader just enough to push deep snow out of the way or ahead of you while the blower gobbles up what you have just driven into! This sounds like one of the best deals in a long time to me; especially for us who want to keep our FEL attached!

Frank, we made out pretty good for the most part as there are areas here that are out it is not like 93 when we lost the north country as well as this area do to an ice storm. That's the plus of living by a town as there are more squeaky wheels that need to be greased. One of my Kubota customers has a built in unit that starts automatically that he is thinking of updating just do to the use that it gets. It is not unusual for him to be out three or four days at a wack during the winter.

Nope, no valve indentations. To my eye it appears symmetric. I don't see anything on the original pistons either, but they are in pretty rough shape so its hard to tell. I'll inspect the inside again but pretty sure there's nothing there.
