The biggest problem of electrical operational problems, strating and lights is most often the grounds or wiring on a five plus year old machine with any make that we sell.

Ahhh Moving the stove and welding in the kitchen...You are a braver man than me or not married. Of course you can make an extension cord. I never saw it done for the stove but for dryers. It is just a matter of matching up the plugs. Youa are gonna need to some big wire. I have some 50 amp motorhome cable that I use but it probably is actually to small.

I agree, maybe the cuts self contained system would be marginal at best it was my first stab. A rear pto pump would do the trick in a heart beat along with a tank on the 3 pt hitch. My snow blower uses a long drive shaft running under the tractor to the rear pto with a power transfer box that slides into the snow blowers frame and pto. Yeah ,I looked at JD mid pto blower and I will tell everyone again.JD's 59 inch blower does NOT come close to the quality of this unit and it was cheaper to boot !!!!! yes ,the pump/motor would cost and everyone has design ideas, hydraulic disconects are faster and in my opion easier than welding and fabrication. The tank/pump set up like a 3pt backhoe would give someone that wants to keep the fel one the tractor an option. I would have looked into this option rather than dropping my fel to mount the blower. The idea of going into a 4ft high snow drift and sending it 30-40 ft in the other direction is is is AAARRRGGGHHHHH HULK SMASH !!!!You know the price of convenentcy and time are expensive !!! Hind sight is 20/20.

Randy, best advice I got for the head cold was from an old Finlander, steam!!!

Park your self in a sauna if you can, if not, get a big bowl of really hot water, and an old towel, put your head over the bowl and put the towel over your head to trap the steam. It will break up the congestion fast, but keep the kleenex nearby, when it lets go your nose will run for days!!!

I was really hoping that there was going to be a common problem that already had a fix, but it looks like I have a date with a multimeter.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for my 4300 that they could email me? I would be interested in the interlock and starter diagram. This would help me tremendously.

Also, are there any other interlocks besides the seat, pedals, and PTO? Are these switches normally open or closed. I guess what I am saying if they are normally closed then I can unplug and jumper out right?

That tractor has an engine-driven hydraulic pump. About 18 inches aft of the pump is a quick disconnect (QD) coupling. If that comes loose, the pump will deadhead. With nowhere for the hydraulic fluid to go, the deadheading pump will starve the engine of horsepower. You'll get a lot of black smoke from the exhaust when this happens too. I've never actually pinned down the clattering noise, it could actually be the pump self-destructing. On the optimistic side, it might be from some kind of pop-off valve that helps keep the pump from blowing up.

If that turns out to be your problem, a couple of cable ties should help hold the QD together.

Ann makes a very good point, but missed one other aspect in her mathematical (financial?) calculations.

If you leave the heater plugged in 24/7, you will be running it (them?) 720 hours a month, times who knows how many months a year, depending on where you live.

Like anything, a heater element has a finite life. Take my word for it, changing a burnt out block heater, definitely falls into the category of PITA. Even if it's only the magnetic or other external heater that burns out, replacing it will cost you more money.

It's easiest if you can leave it all pliugged in, but don't energize the plug, or extension cord, until a few hours before you actually need it.

As Ann so correctly pointed out, 2 heaters would cost you ~$40 a month, so for the cost of a few months of saved electricity you could easily install a switched outlet or put in a timer at least.

There was a 711 skid-steer, as well as various others. Massey sold the industrial equipment business, at least in part, to Fermec in England, so they may have been built by Fermec. In South America, it became Maxion.

All of AGCO brands of tractors mentioned are built Italy.

The AGCO GT-series is built by Same-Deutz Fahr, and has a Same engine.

The Challenger MT300B series and MF 3600 series are built by Agritalia. (Agritalia builds tractors for John Deere, Claas/Renault, Case IH, Valtra as well as their own Carraro brand). The MT300B does not have a Cat engine, either. They don't advertise a brand name, and I couldn't find one last week when I was looking at one. The 3600-series has SisuDiesel engines.

FYI, Caterpillar does not build ANY of the Challenger products for AGCO as AGCO bought the designs and manufacturing processes. Cat does supply the engines, licenses the Challenger name and Cat logo, and supplies some parts.
