Hey - I picked up a used Ridgid 600 power threader to make my life easier. It says that you can cut left hand pipe threads. Does that require a left hand diehead and/or left hand chasers? It uses Ridgid 11R dieheads and I can't find anything available in left hand. Any help is greatly appreciated !

I looked plenty hard before I bought.
as far as specs go, Farmtrac looked the best. (which is what I bought) The JD would have been my second choice. But when compared side by side, the Farmtrac seems as good or better for about 4G's less.

(one thing I've learned. it's a lot like trucks: Ford guys are Ford guys, Chevy guys are Chevy guys, and then there is us Dodge guys. Everybody has their own flavor. find what suits you best. A close dealer/service dept is always a plus)

I know this is an old post, but just to set the record straight.

Farmtrac is maunufactured by Escort Limited in India.
Escort Ltd. has been building tractors for several years for Ford. primarily the 3000 & 4000 series. when the contract was up in the mid-nineties, Escort purchased the American Long-Agribusiness Co. to market their own tractor under the name (Farmtrac). Ford contracted with New Holland.

It is easily confusing with companies buying one another to market here or there. Yes Long had serious finacial woes. But if you're buying a Farmtrac, it's not the long you might remember. More like the Ford you remember.
As far a specs go, the Farmtrac beat the competion hands down. (JD, Massy, Mahindra, Kubota, & NH, not to mention a few others)

I did plenty of research before I bought. My Farmtrac has not let me down. plenty of grunt.

Mardi Gras, FYI, is "celebrated" like Christmas around he-ah---from Florida/Alabama border to New Orleans.

People even say "Happy Mardi Gras" to you, which is code for "have 'notha bee-ah will ya wit dem beads?"

Being a "boring yankee" I find it yet another reason to get drunk and be loud (them, not me)--legally.

Last week they had a parade of floats or "Krewes" coming down a two-lane that was one-and-half-lanes wide and two decks high---I'm already riding with two wheels in the ditchbank and the a--hole float driver veers right for me because he was too high for the tree limbs. Arggggh! Danged rednecks I-tell-you!

What a PITA parts are. Weaver has most. Can not locate new sleeve seal kits. Gasket set almost $300 thru Ford and less then half that other places, but 2-3 weeks out.

Freakin "almost" old tractor anyhow. New parts hard to find because tractor is old and old restored parts not avaiable cause tractor is still to new.

Should have it all by Sat am. Here's another 1/2 day putting back together.

The way I look at it is ethanol is a politicians dream-vote getter. Most voters don't look deep enough. With the incentives, it's gonna make a whole lot of people rich, very rich. But it ain't gonna do a thing for the everyday person but cost them money.

I have a Clayton wood burning furnace in mine and it runs all winter long and my burns stays a comfy 70 to 75 deg. If your going to heat your burn/garage spend the money on the insulation it will pay off in the long run. Last week it was in the single digits and my barn was comfy warm.

I have a BX 23 and I have used the lock and my clunks in and out, I know you have to have ground that is loose so the tires will give, or you will be hearing a lot my than a clunking sound. Snap crackle pop.

I was going to shoot some screws thru 2bys into ribs to hold rock on. the loader/bh to slide rock onto hood maybe some stakes to hold hood in place. Didn't say it would be easy but when I was in 8th grade friend wanted a ROCK for his garden. Found 1 about 1.5' across and 2' long. first day 3 of us got it out of crick onto 3' bank. Next day got it moved about 100' to railroad right of way. Friend called rail agent about cost to move rock still remember his comment "a single rock?" He must of thought a joke but 13 yr old kids are resourcefull. Got wagon loaded rock broke wagon fixed wagon and drug it 1/4mile along tracks. friend uncle said if we got it to bottom of hill he would bring brick/masonary company truck and haul. He lied, so with 2 pulling and 1 keeping 4X4 behind wheel as brake got it up 150' 25 deg slope and 1/2 mile to house where it still was 5-10 yrs ago. Remember this was 1968ish.Took most of a week so figure with hyd tractor a mere 2X2X3 rock is piece of cake! Time will tell. never heard of a stone boat B4.

HArvey hit on the key to it, drive them for a while and then retighten them. Even the tightest chains will move a little and settle into the gaps between tread bars, etc., and will become slack with use.

Something like that happened in the Detroit area a few years ago. Young parents were up in arms. The media got a hold of it and a local doctor gave his opinion. All came to a screaching halt when he pointed out it's a naturally occuring condition. And there's not a thing you can do about it.

IMHO, toxic black mold is more of a threat as it's mostly man-made materials (carboard, drywall) in man-made places (homes, wet dirty basements) that need to be looked at. In Toldeo and Detroit in the inner city, several babies died due to inhaling the mold. Too that mold and others gave way to what the locals called a "Katrina Cough" (mold was everywhere, and still is in homes that have not been gutted yet). It was (is) a irritating cough deep in the lungs that just doesn't go away. I have it myself. Bad infections of the stuff makes one dilerous(sp), and lose memory. Now where was I...

I'm assuming you mean the lower arm pivot?

If it's like my old Fordson, it's a fairly easy thing--remove one side of the axle "bugle" or "horn"---wheel and all (you can remove the wheel if you like). If I recall correctly, if you remove all the nuts/bolts securing the horn to the axle pig it should slide right out with some coaxing. I'd use a transmission jack on casters or an engine puller on casters to support the axle regardless if the wheel is on or not. You might have to buy a new pivot bolt as it probably beat up, not to mention the hole in the casting being wallowed out. If it's wallowed, don't know what to tell you there. There might be a tapered reapir bushing available---dunno. If there is an oversized hole there a new seal might fill the gap.

Nothing to worry about---just cold oil. It does go away. My blue does this too.

Now, if when it's warm out and it doesn't return to center (not "neutral" technically) then the gas spring might be bad--but I doubt it.

I have a blue too. It's nothing to worry about--just cold, thick oil. It goes away then you forget it was a problem--until the next time it's cold.

I have 4th and 5th scvs on my 4310 to control top and tilt cylinders. The dealer installed them prior to purchase. They have them set up with a diverter so the loader stick does double duty, switch one way and it controls the loader and the other way for top and tilt. I believe this is the JD recommended way to do it.
